After filming the kissing scene at Wanghaitai, Lu Chen and Chen Fei'er still had one more scene to shoot on the kilometer-long white beach by the sea, their final scene on Jeju Island. After that, they'd head to Seoul for another shoot, which would officially mark the end of their Korea trip.
Down below, Jiang Fang had been shoved to the ground and had hit her head, blood streaming down her face. Lu Chen immediately heard her scream.
By the time he realized something was wrong and rushed over, the production crew members were already being beaten mercilessly, and several were lying on the ground, groaning in pain!
Seeing this, Lu Chen didn't hesitate for even a second. He charged forward at full speed and managed to save one of the crew members who was about to be seriously injured.
The man in the suit who had launched a flying side kick was blocked by Lu Chen's arm. A flicker of surprise flashed across his otherwise expressionless face, but clearly, he wasn't planning to back down. He twisted his hips again, swinging his right leg up for another strike.
This time, the man didn't hold back. He didn't believe Lu Chen could block his first kick and still stop the second one!
But Lu Chen's counterattack came even faster. Just as the suited man lifted his leg, Lu Chen stepped forward suddenly, both arms thrusting out in a powerful push. His palms struck the man's chest before he could even react.
The move, Cloud-Pushing Palm, looked simple, but Lu Chen had used the full strength of his arms, core, and waist. A dull thump sounded as his palms connected, and the man in the suit was sent flying several meters back before crashing to the ground, limbs splayed, crying out in pain.
In truth, Lu Chen had held back. If he'd replaced that double palm strike with a single, well-aimed punch, he could've easily broken a rib, but that would've made the situation much uglier.
Even so, the blow left the man unable to get up.
Lu Chen didn't stop there. He pressed forward, suddenly grabbing another suited man by the collar and yanking backward with a powerful motion, sending the man flying.
"死ねよ!" ("Die!")
Another man in a suit noticed Lu Chen's movements. Furious and alarmed, he shouted and lunged at him, spreading his arms wide to tackle him down.
It was a mixed martial arts move, using body weight and momentum to crush an opponent, followed by a chokehold. Brutal and efficient.
At such close range, an ordinary person would have had no way to dodge.
Unfortunately for him, his opponent was Lu Chen.
As the man pounced, Lu Chen calmly sidestepped, hooked the attacker's right arm with both hands, and used his momentum to spin him off balance before smoothly pushing him aside.
The suited man staggered helplessly, completely losing control of his body, and slammed straight into one of his own companions. The two crashed to the ground in a tangled heap!
In just a few swift movements, Lu Chen had taken down four men in suits, completely reversing the situation and saving the production crew from danger.
Now, only the tall, slender young man remained, flanked by two suited bodyguards.
The two bodyguards clearly hadn't expected Lu Chen to be this fierce. Seeing him advance with unstoppable momentum, panic flashed across their faces.
Still, bound by duty, they didn't retreat, instead, they charged at him together.
Lu Chen was ready. Calm and precise, he shifted his stance and swung his right leg in a sweeping kick, striking one guard's shin. The man instantly lost balance and fell flat on his face.
The second guard turned around just in time to see Lu Chen ram forward, slamming his shoulder into the man's chest and sending him flying.
A perfect KO.
Now Lu Chen stood face-to-face with the slender young man wearing sunglasses.
If Lu Chen's guess was right, this man was probably the leader of the group, and, judging by the entourage of photographers and assistants, likely a celebrity himself.
Clearly, they were here at Wanghaitai for a photo shoot.
Some of them wanted to intervene, but Lu Chen's crew wasn't about to let that happen. They blocked the path and even took a few vengeful kicks at the fallen bodyguards.
The situation had completely flipped, Lu Chen's side now held the upper hand.
The slender young man seemed terrified that Lu Chen might actually hit him. Seeing Lu Chen continue to close the distance, he shouted something in panic and stumbled backward.
Unfortunately for him, he didn't realize there were steps behind him. His foot missed, and he nearly fell, only barely managing to grab a plant branch nearby to steady himself before landing squarely on the concrete edge of the drainage channel.
It was an utterly humiliating sight. His sunglasses fell off, revealing a pair of delicate eyes.
What a pretty boy.
Lu Chen couldn't help curling his lip in disdain. The guy was painfully thin, skin fair like a baby's, with a sharp chin, makeup on his face, eyeliner drawn neatly, and an earring in his left ear, he looked effeminate, gaudy, and just plain pretentious.
That sort of "new-generation idol" look was exactly what was popular in Japan's entertainment industry.
Perhaps sensing Lu Chen's contempt from above, or simply feeling too humiliated, the young man's pale face flushed crimson, his thin lips tightening in anger.
"Stop fighting! Stop fighting!"
Just then, the Korean translator who had been accompanying the film crew came running over, shouting loudly, "I've already called the police, the police are on their way!"
This translator had been assigned by SPG to assist the production team with their local work.
Now that the situation was firmly under control, Lu Chen didn't want things to escalate any further. He had already noticed a crowd of tourists gathering nearby, many of them snapping photos and videos. So he waved his hand and said calmly, "Everyone stop, don't fight anymore."
Lu Chen wasn't just the male lead of Full House; he was also one of the main investors. Within the crew, his authority even surpassed that of the director, so his words naturally carried weight.
More importantly, it was Lu Chen's decisive action that had turned the tide, single-handedly taking down the attackers and showing formidable strength. His reputation among the young crew members had skyrocketed in that instant.
So the moment they heard him speak, everyone backed off, ceasing their pursuit of the Japanese group and regrouping together, still wary and ready to react if needed.
The Japanese men hurried over, chattering loudly, helping the slender young man who had fallen. But the young man shoved their hands away furiously, shouting at them in anger.
The suited men who had been knocked down earlier were getting back on their feet, their faces dark with humiliation. The young idol scolded them harshly, and they could barely lift their heads, though a few still glared at Lu Chen with resentment.
But none of them dared make another move. The strength Lu Chen had just displayed was seared into their minds.
To attack again would only bring more humiliation upon themselves.
Meanwhile, the crew burst into cheers, celebrating their victory. Someone shouted, "Brother Chen, you're amazing!"
"Lu Chen, are you okay?"
More people were rushing down from Wanghaitai, including Chen Fei'er herself.
"I'm fine," Lu Chen said, shaking his head. "Check on Little Fang first, see if she needs an ambulance."
Jiang Fang had already been helped up by her coworkers. She looked a complete mess, blood on her forehead, scratches on her arms and legs, but thankfully, she was conscious and hadn't suffered a head injury.
A female staff member pressed a handkerchief to her wound to stop the bleeding, while Chen Fei'er hurried over to comfort her.
The rest of the crew, still burning with anger, cursed loudly at the ones who had started the fight.
The Korean police arrived soon after.
Wanghaitai was one of Jeju Island's most famous tourist spots, often packed with visitors. To ensure safety, the local authorities had stationed plenty of patrol officers nearby.
So when the call came in, the sirens blared, the police were there in minutes.
The crew's Korean translator and SPG's local representative immediately stepped forward to speak with the officers. The other side also had translators to assist.
After several minutes of back-and-forth discussion, the translator and a Korean police officer approached Lu Chen.
The translator looked apologetic. "Mr. Lu, this is Officer Park Ji-Sung. Since you were involved in the altercation, he'll need you to come to the station and give an official statement. I'm very sorry about this!"
He bowed deeply after speaking.
An SPG representative hurried over with a phone in hand and said, "Mr. Lu, I've already contacted the company. They're dispatching a lawyer immediately, please rest assured."
SPG had a direct stake in Full House, so they had been very supportive of the production while filming in Korea.
Now that such an incident had occurred, SPG naturally wouldn't stand idly by. Even though this was Jeju Island, with SPG's resources and connections, protecting Lu Chen wouldn't be an issue at all.
Besides, the root cause of the conflict clearly lay with the Japanese group; they were the ones who started it.
Lu Chen had anticipated this outcome. If he chose to act, he was prepared to face the consequences of doing so.
And truthfully, he didn't regret it at all. If given another chance, he might have hit even harder.
Lu Chen nodded. "Alright."
Beside him, Chen Fei'er immediately grew anxious. "I'm going with you!"
Lu Chen smiled. "What would you do at the station? It's just giving a statement. The crew still needs someone in charge."
Chen Fei'er shook her head firmly. "Out of the question. I'm not letting you go alone."
Her determination left Lu Chen no choice but to agree. "Alright then, go with the translator."
Aside from Lu Chen, the other crew members who had joined the fight were also required to come along. Being in a foreign country, everyone was worried about unfair treatment, so many wanted to tag along in solidarity.
However, the producer and director, Fang Hui, persuaded most of them to stay. "We can't all go; the shoot can't continue today, but someone has to stay with the equipment and manage the rest."
As for the Japanese group, they too were escorted to the nearest police station.
Meanwhile, as Lu Chen was giving his statement to the police, news of the incident had already exploded across the Chinese internet!, First update delivered! Please support with subscriptions and monthly votes!
