At the time of imminent peril, Phoenix lunged toward them.
He landed steadily on the wolf, clamped down tightly on its belly, and repeatedly smashed its head with a rock.
The wolf was agitated and thrashed about in a frenzy.
Phoenix almost got flung out in the process.
However, he bit the bullet and kept hitting the wolf's head in retaliation.
With continued effort, the wolf finally collapsed to the ground.
By then, Phoenix was sweating buckets.
Everyone stared with their mouths open, flabbergasted.
They had never seen such a dangerous scene.
After a while, Primo was the first to stand up.
He rushed toward Phoenix and hugged him tightly. "You're my savior. From now on, you have my word. I shall protect you this lifetime."
Phoenix was rendered speechless by his actions.
He frowned and said, "I don't need you to protect me!"
"I insist." Primo put his chubby little hands around Phoenix. "No matter what, I'm going to protect you. I like you!"
