"Even if what you said were true, Aiden wouldn't be saved since I lack the necessary strength, and I probably can't even communicate with spirits that well. If nothing can be changed in the end, then I—"
She cut me off sharply. "Then that leaves you one option if you lack the strength to save him."
I looked at her, my mind racing, trying to grasp what she meant.
"Apologize to him from the bottom of your heart," she said firmly.
"That's such a naive way," I replied bitterly. "His spirit won't even be appeased with that."
"But it's worth a try," she insisted gently.
"It's not worth it," I snapped back, my voice sharper than I intended. "You really think he'd accept my apology just so he can stop tormenting me? He's become a wandering spirit, and he hates me—so much that I think he wishes to kill me."
