Chapter 32 - Chapter 031: Oh Fun!

The three shinigami, two captains and a third seat, practically tumbled through the traditional paper and wood doors of the Senkaimon where they of course ended up in the Dangai. A place best described as the world between realms. Allowing them to travel to all those worlds connected to it.

Though it was hard to describe it as a particularly safe place; one glance at its dusty grey & brown appearance was enough to give one the heebie-jeebies.

Its appearance is akin to a corridor formed by twisted towering trunks with veins littering the ground below that could cause someone to trip if they failed to take them into account. This alone is enough to get the danger of the precipice world across. Even as captains they wanted to get out as quickly as possible.

Yet turning around revealed that the one who had developed their plan wasn't even there yet and none of them were ungrateful enough to abandon her. If not for her giving them so much intel - it was easy to imagine none of them would have made it out alive. So, even if they feel as if they're about to collapse…

They couldn't.

"Damn if only we could have released the Jigokuchō; I hate this creepy place…"

His words were met by the shaggy haired blonde not even paying attention, seeming to be thinking about something or another, while Yoruchi just sighed. Crouching as she spent the little time they had to catch her breath. Not surprising considering she was the one working the hardest to buy them time.

"We didn't have time to worry about opening a direct passage to Seireitei - just be thankful we can make it back in the first place."

"Sigh…"

At this moment they could only bask in the relief they now felt at being away from that monstrous bastard.

Not that they were allowed this peace & quiet for long.

"What are you lot moping about~?"

That (by now) familiar voice caused them all to turn back to the Senkaimon where that five foot figure of the oddly british cat girl stood with a cheshire grin. In one hand she held her cane-sword that she thrusted behind herself. Connecting with the portal which caused it to close behind her.

They were a little surprised that she understood the connection between Zanpakuto & the Senkaimon, that being one of a keyhole & key, however that wasn't what was most shocking. Instead they all turned their gaze towards her other hand that was beckoning them. Specifically what she held within said hand.

It was an arm that they, specifically the shaggy haired third seat, were very intimate with.

Because it was his own arm.

She even had his sword resting on her hip via the belt around her pants; happily waving his severed arm around without care about the blood sputtering around.

"I got a gift on my way back since I thought you could use a hand~!"

With all their tension having mostly left their bodies, it was hard to even react to her, it was as if what they had just experienced was just a Tuesday to her.

Yoruichi thought while unconsciously remembering the words of that crazy cat after she had witnessed her friend losing his arm. Once more that shockingly hyperactive "old lady" refused to give time to ponder her actions or words. Vanishing from where she once was only to reappear beside their one armed member.

"Now get naked for me~!"

"Wa-"

"Okay~!"

He didn't even ask a single question as he quickly moved his remaining hand to push aside the bloody robes which took quite a bit of force. After all, he did use it to tie up his bloody stump. Seeing this the two captains could only gawk; Kenpachi quickly decided to right it off with a shake of his head.

Surprisingly that crazy cat proceeded to whip a needle & thread from the inside of her pocket with her cane resting to the side. Not taking any precaution she began to literally sow that arm back on with a merry little hum. It was clear to see she had experience yet her words…

"You know I just found this stuff on me so I sure hope it's sanitised~!"

… Were a little less than comforting for Yoruichi who could only rest a hand on her brow.

"I never did ask your name, boy!"

"Kisuke Urahara little madame~!"

She nodded her head with the two of them looking like a child and a random old lady on the street who were getting along due to sharing a surprising interest. That was if you ignore her being 5 foot and certainly not looking particularly old. Especially when put beside the six foot Kisuke.

Then you also had the fact that, in that brief time, the crazy cat had actually managed to finish reconnecting his arm and finished it off by biting the metal thread off.

While she placed the needle in a handkerchief before stowing it away - Kisuke tested his new arm by resting his other under his elbow while tensing his hand repeatedly. Seemingly everything was perfect as a grin formed on his face. Gaze turned towards the cat who grabbed her cane to help her stand back up.

"Now why don't you kids tell me the details on where the fuck we even are~?"

Tilting her head with her now free hand resting on the brim of her top hat; eyes narrowed in amusement as she studied the two captains before her. It was Yoruichi who decided to be the one to take that role. It was only natural since Kenpachi was busy pacing around as he wasn't exactly happy about the mission result.

At least she was thinking about explaining it until Kisuke happily chimed in.

"This is the Dangai, often called the precipice realm or corridor between worlds, and is essentially the connecting glue between realms. Although by its nature it is dangerous due to the flow of time and space being inconsistent. Getting lost could lead you to arriving anywhere at any time~!"

Wagging his finger along while that cat put all her weight on her cane while leaning forward - clearly focusing on his lesson with both her hands resting upon the head.

"The dangers only increase when we talk about the cleaner; not much is known about them except those gobbled up get thrown across space-time and we don't even know if they arrive in one piece."

"How fascinating~!"

Nodding her head with a glimmer in her eyes.

"This Dangai sounds a lot like the Limbo yet the kid ruler of that place hid so well that not even the most powerful members knew they were skipping past it to travel between realms~! You see there is this principle known as the void theorem. It states that if 'vo' is present then 'v' will always be 0."

"Because how can 'v' be anything else when there is no 'd' to cross…"

Kisuke mumbled out loud with a hand resting on his chin, ruffling his stubble.

"Then you have 't' which has a proportional relationship; do you know which type? "

With that she began to spout out a load of algebraic maths, the basis for future human modern science, a glassy film formed over Yoruichi's eyes. Not that this stopped the impromptu lesson that her squad member happily divided into. Although it was more like testing how much he knew.

She didn't know how advanced their society was and what was a better way to test than speaking to one of the highest ranking members who also had an interest in science?

Either way she learned a lot of peripheral knowledge about this "soul society" - such as the fact that it was as much of a shithole as everywhere else. A world where the only thing keeping nobles in place was a paramilitary force that strongly armed itself into being an official military. Interesting at least.

Shaking her head.

Of course she didn't voice this as they soon found another set of paper doors in front of them, opening as the four approached, hitting them with a blinding light.

"Maybe these big wigs will be more reasonable than they seem at first~!"

"An entire human city dead, an countless number of new residents, even more accounted for, an unknown number of new hollows, death of dozens of elite shinigami and finally the death of a captain. So what do you plead to all this? As, from up here, this seems very open and shut!"

This time Cheshire found herself within the centre of a massive darkness shrouded hall - on all sides there were a bunch of figures engulfed in shadow. All snootily looking down on her from their raised seats. Not a single one of them spoke up for her nor did she particularly expect them to.

Instead she stood (still with her infamous grin) as her eyes slowly passed over the countless members within the little kangaroo court they seemed to have going.

Her hands firmly resting on her cane as she began to chuckle.

"Oh fun~!"

That exclamation caused everyone within the room to be taken by surprise as even the security didn't know how to react to anything she did.

"Do you th-"

Of course she immediately cut them off.

"I never have been on trial before nevertheless by a bunch of weaklings who can't even successfully do their own jobs let alone be upstanding judges~!"

"Then we see there is no reason to continue this trial!"

"No, no, go on, I agree to testify while telling the truth and nothing but the truth~!"

Her announcement obviously wasn't well received as they began to argue between themselves rather than shout at her. Some discussed tradition, others fairness and then there were those who didn't care about any sort of pretence. They just wanted to lorde their power over everyone they could.
