| Central Forty Six.
The very literal core of soul society that is protected from the harshness of the outside world by the massive white walls of Seireitei. A total of forty "wise" men who act as a think tank on how to better the two realms they rule over by decree of the Soul King. Making assumptions from their gilded halls.
Thought the little black cat as she turned her gaze to look at the arguing children who couldn't decide how they wanted to treat her. Some wanted to forgo all procedures. Others demanded that she be given the same treatment as every other criminal that came before them.
Sitting above that rabble were six more who acted as the final word on all judgements made. The irony that this all involved the prince of judgement was not lost on her. Still, they were the ones who made the laws as well as decided the fates of all in the soul society & the human world.
Shaking her head as she was quickly making up her mind.
Soon the six judges seemed to grow weary of the arguments of the forty wisemen - the sound of a gavel bringing silence to the masses.
"We do not see a reason to prolong this as nothing will change the facts that we have-"
"So we c~a~n agree on something~!"
"Show some respect to-"
"Why would I show respect to you; it appears you all have some kind of misunderstanding that makes you believe you can shift blame onto me and pretend I was the reason your guys failed."
Shaking her head as she closed her eyes for a second - soon opening them up as her piercing glare caused all those men to freeze just as they were about to complain again.
"You kids have no authority over me."
This seemed to cause them to break out their stupor.
"No authority?!"
"Such a foul personality!"
You are dumber than you look!"
"We rule over all souls between the soul society an-"
Such similar rants were going on and on and on with that cat simply not caring enough to pay too much attention to all their shouting. Instead she pushed her top hat aside to fully free one of her cat ears as she scratched it herself. In response the ear twitched as she noticed them finally… Well, noticing that.
Their eyes focused on the ears upon her head.
"Correction that you have overlooked… What you rule over are human souls and I am for more than some meat bag born from the flesh of a divine cadaver. Instead I am, in case you somehow failed to realise, a cat who has lived longer than you can possibly comprehend with knowledge beyond you."
"How do you know about that?!"
One of them accidentally blurted out which caused her brow to raise curiosity as intrigue entered her eyes with that smile growing once more. Even if they couldn't see her mouth they could see the creases in her face mask growing. Now they realise… They were talking about different things.
"So you killed your own god - soul king was his name~?"
"Yo-"
"You, you, you, you, you… Can you be quiet, brat?"
If before they were annoyed their anger and panic was slowly growing as they didn't actually know how much she knew or even what she truly was.
At least the six judges realised that (in their rush to push this disaster under the rug) they had overlooked many things about the situation that was now biting them back. Of course they weren't particularly bothered by their lack of justification. What concerned them is how quick witted she was.
What made it even worse was that this had led to the greatest kept secret among the higher ups being openly discussed. Those members of the kido corps in charge of their security found themselves in shock at what they had heard. Meaning they would need to also be removed permanently.
Since, even if they didn't know the details, they could not allow this to get out.
"We have come to an agreement that you will be executed by the end of-"
"CHEHEHEHEHAHAHAHIHIHIHI~!"
Throwing her arms out wide with that cane held within her right hand. Shocked gasps blew through the room however she obviously couldn't give less of a hoot about what they felt. Instead she stepped forwards without fear about the members of the Kido corps chanting something or another.
"""Bind! The wandering knave. Bakudo #1: Sai!"""
Unfortunately their pathetic level of strength made it impossible to enforce such a binding spell upon her due to her mighty spiritual pressure. She was once the ruler of all spirits, after all. Such a technique could not even cause her to pause on a single step.
It seemed this sight seemed to cause some realisation, for the first time, that they weren't dealing with some nobody they could throw into the maggots' nest. The place they usually threw anyone who could possibly grow into a problem for them. Their arrogance shows in how they had it named.
Now they realised, this time, they brought the fully grown problem in front of themselves and proceeded to annoy it with their petty opinions that hardly related to her.
"Strangely you have come to an impossible conclusion despite all your postulating - what gave you the idea that you could force anything upon me? Perhaps because I took a passive approach in the fight against Navy? Maybe you just got an aide to read the report for you?"
Shaking her head as she pointed a finger behind her and over her shoulder.
"Sai."
Despite having only just seen the spell she not only replicated it but enhanced upon what she saw as all the guards in the room found themselves falling to the floor. Black flames entrapped their limbs as they could only look on with shock. The door was banging as she somehow even sealed the door.
Preventing those outside from breaking in once they realised something horrible had gone wrong with what should have been a simple kangaroo court.
By now the anger in the 46 court members had faded into a fear of the little black cat.
Not that she seemed to care as she hit the floor with her cane - that explosive *clack* making it impossible to think about anything except what she was going to do to them next.
"None of you are special."
Shaking her head.
"In my long life I have seen many empires rise and fall with a large majority collapsing under the weight of egos just like your own. When I came into this world I arrived in the Rukongai where you throw all the souls who you care oh so much for. Where they live in squalor & at each other's throats."
For once she let her spiritual pressure begin to leak out as it formed black flames that were different from the abyssal energy of Munzumira. Released was paradoxically a bright light that forced all who witnessed it to cover their eyes. Forming the appearance of a proud female lioness who appeared ready to pounce.
She didn't seem to care as the weight on their shoulders slowly increased as she released more of her power upon them.
Instead she reached out one of her gloved hands to look down upon it.
"The role of a noble is to grant the best life to their people… What have you done to help anyone but yourselves in the last few centuries?"
Eyes turning up from her hand to glare towards the children who thought a bit of political power made them somehow inherently superior to those they were meant to wield the power for. Some part of her couldn't help feeling sad. Knowing that, even after her death, what she fought against always remained.
Her thoughts soon turned away from the past in the future - considering exactly what she should do to this group of troublesome children.
Eventually she just shrugged her shoulders while turning around.
The spiritual pressure she unleashed reeled back in as she made her way towards the door with the only sound being that of her cane hitting the tile floor. Those in the chamber were left barely alive, let alone conscious, as they could only watch on in horror at what they provoked. Confusion evident.
Since they knew they'd have killed her in that situation.
"I am willing to give a chance for reform so let's see if this serves as a wakeup call or a chance for you to double down on your wickedness."
Clicking her fingers as the spell she cast came undone which allowed for the doors to come flying open and several shinigami fell onto the floor. She didn't care as she just stepped over them thus out the door with everyone just watching. Those new to the scene not knowing how to act.
Eventually she found herself stepping out into the sunlight once more.
There she met an old looking man with eyebrows only beaten by his beard for their excessiveness.
Both oldies stood in front of one another with their hands resting on their own canes; narrowing their eyes as they glared at one another. Behind the old man were two "captains" yet she didn't care too much about the drunkard in pink. The sickly silver-head was somewhat interesting.
Not that she turned her gaze from the old man.
Both snorting at the other with that kind of pride only someone so old could possess.
"What did you do?"
"Your job, brat."
