Chapter 806 - Chapter 805: Porygon2

Porygon's perspective appeared on the screen in front of Cain.

It was as if he were looking through a strange distorted crystal, seeing his own figure on the other side of the glass, reduced in size.

It was a curious experience.

Without paying too much attention to the view, Cain ordered the system to close the virtual screen and summoned Porygon.

However, just after calling it out, a white light suddenly enveloped Porygon.

It was evolving!

Cain watched in amazement as Porygon evolved following the system update.

According to Cain's knowledge of this species of Pokémon, Porygon's first evolution normally required the use of the Upgrade item to evolve.

In this case, the evolution also made sense.

Since the system had downloaded all of Porygon's information into its database, it could be interpreted that the process replicated the necessary conditions for using the Upgrade item, allowing evolution without the use of a physical item.

In essence, this was not so different from directly using the Upgrade item normally required.

Before the update, since the system was in suspended mode, Porygon—as an extension of the system—had also entered sleep mode. Now that the system had completed its update, Porygon immediately began its evolution.

However, there was a concerning detail.

Porygon was a class of Pokémon for which no quality-enhancement potions existed. Cain had never found any information on how to improve a Porygon's aptitudes, making it impossible to develop such a potion for it.

Therefore, he could only rely on Porygon's natural capabilities to determine its potential.

Soon, the white light faded, and Porygon's evolution was completed without external assistance or interruptions.

Originally, Porygon had an angular design, with many edges that gave it a rigid appearance. However, after evolving, it had noticeably softened.

It was now Porygon2.

Although Porygon2 still closely resembled its previous form, its edges were rounded, and the pattern on its chest had also softened, taking on a more curved shape. In appearance, it somewhat resembled a chubby bird.

Nonetheless, it retained the characteristic red, blue, and yellow color scheme, which made it still recognizable as a Porygon.

"Most likely, this Porygon2 is the first in this world to reach its second evolutionary form," Cain thought as he observed his evolved Pokémon.

He immediately activated the system's new scanning function.

Before, Cain had little information on Porygon, and the system couldn't even determine its potential quality accurately. Now, with Porygon2 integrated into the system, the measurement should be much more precise.

Pokémon: Porygon2 (Dark Green)

Gender: Genderless

Level: 30

Type: Normal

Ability: Analytic

Held Item: Subsystem

Egg Moves: None

Basic Moves: Conversion, Conversion 2, Tackle, Sharpen, Psybeam, Agility, Recover, Magnet Rise, Signal Beam, Defense Curl, Zap Cannon, Magic Coat

Learned Moves: Ally Switch, Pain Split, Wonder Room

TM Moves: None

As expected, the system could now calculate Porygon2's quality accurately.

Although Porygon2's quality was only dark green, that was enough for Cain. His Porygon2 was essentially a support-type Pokémon designed to serve as an auxiliary tool, not for combat.

Even the level 30 it had reached wasn't something Cain planned to interfere with directly. According to the system's calculations and analysis, the fastest way for Porygon2 to level up was not through battles, but by continuously collecting data.

The more data it collected—especially data it had never recorded before—the faster it would grow.

The integration of the system with Porygon2 resulted in mutual benefit.

Porygon2 could help the system collect massive amounts of information, while the system provided Porygon2 with an incredibly enhanced capacity for evolution and data processing speed.

Though they were technically now a unified entity, Cain still preferred to treat them as separate ones.

"System, test the visual projection and voice reproduction functions of Porygon2," Cain ordered mentally.

In response, Porygon2's round eyes lit up, projecting two beams of light.

The light condensed in the air, forming the figure of Cain as he appeared at that moment.

When Cain raised a hand, the projected figure imitated his movement. Although the projection couldn't physically interact with objects, it was nearly indistinguishable from Cain's real presence.

Cain spoke a few words, and Porygon2 repeated them almost instantly with precision, showing only minimal delay.

The system's and Porygon2's ability to transmit information remotely was quite impressive.

"System, what's the maximum distance you can maintain with Porygon2's subsystem?" Cain asked.

"Communication is possible regardless of distance, as long as both are in the same space and timeline. However, the greater the distance, the greater the delay in image and sound transmission. At its peak, the delay will not exceed three seconds."

Cain noticed that the system's responses were now smoother and more human-like, with less mechanical rigidity. It was as if the system, like Porygon2, had softened its edges.

Cain nodded in satisfaction. As long as he didn't enter alternate spaces, there would be no communication issues.

Then, Cain checked several other system functions, confirming that Porygon2 would enter standby mode if disconnected from the system, without showing any independent awareness or uncontrolled behavior.

Additionally, when Porygon2 entered electronic devices or networks, it would still be completely under the system's control, with no risk of losing command over it.

This solved one of the biggest problems Team Rocket faced when creating the Porygon: how to keep them under control. With the system's help, Cain had managed to overcome this difficulty with ease.

The main system's subsystem was fully integrated into Porygon2. Even if it became data within a network, it was still linked to and controlled by the system.

Finally, Cain asked if the system was capable of creating more subsystems.

Porygon, while uncommon, was not unique in this world. If Cain managed to obtain and control more of them, he could collect data on a large scale, expanding the system's capacity and transforming it into the world's most complete archive.

Moreover, by possessing multiple Porygon, Cain would gain a significant advantage in terms of information and knowledge.

If he ever faced an organization, he could send his Porygon to sabotage their data and communication systems, giving him a major strategic edge.

In a highly technological world like this one, where electronic devices were everywhere, this could change the course of any confrontation.

For small organizations, detecting the presence of a Porygon would be nearly impossible.

Their computers and databases would become extensions of Cain's own system.

And Cain would be free to come and go at will.
