Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 When the Poison Giant Awakens

"You're exactly like that bastard Shiryu!"

Magellan snapped back.

Among the leadership of Impel Down—Magellan, Hannibal, and Domino—every one of them was diligent and upright.

But Sadie, Shiryu… and now Storm—

All three were lunatics.

No matter what happened, Magellan would never allow Storm to escape Infinite Hell.

"Storm," Magellan said coldly,

"if you die today, I will personally preside over your funeral."

The deep-purple venom coating his body suddenly shifted.

It changed color.

From violet to a blinding, bloodlike scarlet.

"This…" Magellan said gravely,

"is my forbidden technique."

Behind him, the scarlet venom surged and gathered, slowly forming a massive humanoid shape.

"Using this power may destroy Impel Down itself."

"This is—"

"The Poison Giant!"

The moment the name was spoken, the figure fully took form.

A towering crimson body.

Bat-like membranous wings.

Twisted horns.

A skull-like face.

The Poison Giant looked like a demon torn straight from hell's deepest legends.

Its toxicity far surpassed anything Magellan had released before.

Wherever it touched the ground, a violent hissing echoed—the very land of Infinite Hell was being corroded.

Worse still, the poison was contagious.

It spread across anything it touched—stone, metal, even the prison floor itself.

In the nearest cells, corpses already slain by Storm's bombardment were instantly stained crimson.

Pale pink gas rose from them as their bodies vaporized completely.

Under Magellan's control, the Poison Giant raised its massive arms and slammed them toward Storm.

Storm's expression finally grew serious.

Without hesitation, he released the awakened power of the Clay-Clay Fruit.

White clay surged outward from beneath his feet, transforming the ground in an instant.

"Flowing Clay!"

Like a roaring tide, the clay rose to meet the Poison Giant's attack.

Boom!

The Giant's hand smashed into the wave of clay, leaving behind a massive blood-red imprint.

Even more terrifying—

The poison spread outward at an absurd speed.

In mere seconds, the top of the Flowing Clay was completely stained crimson.

Storm immediately severed that portion of clay.

Without a medium to spread through, the infection finally stopped.

So this is it…

The Poison Giant's toxicity is even worse than expected.

Storm's gaze sharpened.

Magellan, meanwhile, stared in shock.

"You've awakened your Devil Fruit…"

A Devil Fruit awakening was rare—terrifyingly rare—even across the entire world.

If Storm had not caused this chaos…

With this power, he could have strengthened Impel Down immensely.

But it was too late.

"It's just awakening," Storm said calmly.

"Hasn't your Venom-Venom Fruit already done the same?"

The Poison Giant's ability to infect the environment made the answer obvious.

Storm did not wait for a reply.

Clay arms erupted from the ground—each as massive as the Poison Giant's own limbs.

They avoided the poisoned ground and ignored the Giant itself.

All of them struck directly toward Magellan.

Capture the king first.

Magellan took a single step back.

In an instant, his body merged into the Poison Giant.

The massive demon became his armor.

The clay fists slammed down.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Crimson venom splashed everywhere as the Giant's body rippled.

At the same time, the clay fists touching it were rapidly infected, turning red, then rotting away.

Storm severed the connections again.

Rotting clay collapsed into foul-smelling sludge.

I need scale, Storm thought.

He expanded the Clay-Clay Fruit's influence further, assimilating the entire open space of Infinite Hell.

The ground surged upward like an endless tide.

"Giant Wave Clay!"

The white wave crashed forward.

Before it, the Poison Giant looked no larger than a red doll.

The impact sent the Giant staggering backward—forced completely out of Infinite Hell's gates.

Storm moved to pursue—

Then froze.

His body turned entirely into clay.

The figure faded.

This Storm was a Clay Clone.

The real Storm emerged from a distant cell.

Inside the little white dragon's belly lay a newly formed Devil Fruit.

[Momo-Momo Fruit]

Storm glanced at the trophy.

"Waldo's strength is slightly below Catarina Devon's," he murmured.

"But this fruit's potential is no less terrifying."

At the gate, the Poison Giant began tearing through the Giant Wave Clay.

Magellan would break through soon.

Faster than expected.

Fortunately—

Storm had already taken what he came for.

"Run."

He gave Magellan a brief wave.

Then vanished, melting into the clay beneath his feet.

Magellan lunged forward—

Too late.

"Vongola Storm!!!"

The roar echoed uselessly behind him.

Storm ascended through Impel Down.

Past the New Okama Paradise.

Past the Frozen Hell.

Past every layer of suffering.

At the end of hell—

Light.

A white dragon spread its wings and soared.

Beyond the sea…

Was freedom.

Off to sea.
