Chapter 45 - Saxon

Saxon, the King of Birds Of A Feather Dungeon.

In terms of strength, he is stronger than Orc Kong. That is why Zypher decided to pull back last time.

But now, he has upgraded himself, he has to finish the things he has started.

And that's true for this dungeon.

Although in his first try, he got what he needed, now, he has to face one of the greatest battles of his past life.

"Kuraokami Slide!"

Cold breeze blew as Zypher suddenly phased out of his place, his body transforming to a mist-like state, as he confused the senses of Saxon.

On the other hand, Saxon just stood there, mightily, looking smug at the worm squirming before him. He did not even try to dispel what Zypher was doing.

"Kanayago Skip!"

Zypher, using the residual speed, jumped up to the air.

"Higatsuchi Trek!"

He then used his steps to boost his altitude, and then, he fell down.

"Susanoo Boost. Suijiin Step."

Using these steps made his falling speed faster.

"Fujin Step. Raijin Pace!"

Using his momentum, Zypher then used his last skill to make the most impact.

"HANIYASU STOMP!"

As he fell, Zypher then used the step of Raijin Pace to redirect his energy, and fall down completely on top of Saxon.

He then looked at the arrogant look of Saxon, and he plunged Charity Dagger into the back of Saxon with one fell swoop.

But then, something happened comepletely different.

[Saxon, King of Birds of A Feather.]

[Ability - Feather Mail.]

[Stabbing attacks are ineffective, and deals no damage.]

With too much momentum, the pushed the dagger and his body to the air, but if it hit a concrete ground?

All the force is transferred to the weapon.

[Charity Dagger suffered damage!]

[00:30:00 until next use.]

30 minutes, with one mistake.

Although he has known what the future holds, he still has his memories has its own limits. In short, even him is susceptible to failure.

Motes of light floated back to his hand as Charity Dagger's cooldown began to start.

30 minutes, he has to think.

But that thinking came to a halt when Saxon opened his wings wide open, flapping furiously.

It looked at Zypher, mocking him. Seeing this, Zypher used his Fujin Step to retreat, when suddenly, Saxon appeared behind him.

Sharp shout rang out as Saxon used its skill, King' Decree.

The skill is sound based skill that lowers all of the opponents' Stats by 90%. For a Boss, this is too OP, especially in the early stages.

But, that's not all.

Like any other early stage Bosses, Saxon has two phases. Phase 1, is when you met him, and Phase 2 when he falls to 25% health.

Zypher then pulled out Greed Chakram, split it into two, and threw out one to Saxon.

But, it looked like an egg thrown to a rock. It shattered as it hit Saxon's feathers, and Saxon just flapped his wings, majestically in the sky.

"What a load of bull crap."

Zypher muttered. Now, his weapons are down, and he must defeat Saxon, because if he did not, he won't know his capacity and take the quest from Issa.

Susanoo Boost. Kuraokami Slide.

Using his two Steps, he then ran as fast as he could, but Saxon almost immediately follows him, throwing him talons and wing beats that almost killed him then and there.

His HP, is converted to Vitality. And each one point to Vitality Stat is like 5 points in HP points.

HP points is calculated as 2 times the points, while Zypher's is calculated as 10 points. It means that Zypher now has 100 HP Points, but, the funny things is, the bosses always hit above 100.

One direct hit and it can spell doom of him. He is now playing in the most difficult difficulty of the game. Not just that, his stats are so low that he can only run.

As he slipped away, he then used his Appraisal towards Saxon. This time, he has to know why his attacks are not doing anything.

[Saxon, King of the Birds Of A Feather.]

[Inferno Mode Player Detected. Boss Mutation - Amphiptere.]

[Amphiptere Bloodline - Lesser Dragons with no feet, talons, or legs; just a wing on its long body. Carrying the Dragons' Bloodline, it cannot be damaged by weak physical and magical attacks.]

[And as dragons, it has a reverse scale that is it's weakness. The scale is colorful.]

As he looked at the notification once again, Zypher's face grimaced.

First, he cannot just attack Saxon with light attacks. Although big damage can kill it, he is not someone that can amass big damages.

Second, he has to at least wait for twent more minutes for Charity Dagger to be used again.

And third, Saxon has colorful feathers. Finding the scale in the feathers is like looking for a needle in a haystack. It is almost impossible.

And so, Zypher decided to plan ahead.

Twenty minutes is ample time to make a strategy.

Zypher then took the weapons he have in his inventory.

Two daggers, a slingshot, a sword and an axe.

These were the first weapons he got, except for the gun that was destroyed as he poured it's energy into it.

First, Axes don't really work well in this scenario. Although heavy in damage, it is also heavy to bring.

And so, he has three weapons to work with. And two summons.

Missile and Briar was summoned into the field.

As he prepared, Saxon is busy circling around, trying to find him, and helping his nests.

Suddenly, a massive fireball rained down while he is nesting one of Ice Peadoves.

BANG!

With the strong attack, the ones in the vicinity were obliterated, and only the Ice Peadove he was nesting survived as his feathers blocked the fireball.

No damage was done to him, but this damage is worse than what he expected. It is not physical, but mental damage.

Even if you are strong, the ones in your environment isn't.

With a loud shout of grief, Saxon got enraged, and his eyes went bloodshot.

Missile then sent a barrage of metal slime bullets, and Zypher farms the small slimes to take a bit of Saxon's skills.

After a bit of time, Saxon got drained. Not of his HP, not of stamina, but of his sanity.

He then decided to launch counterattacks at the three, but Zypher and the others dodged it.

When they attack, he just tanks ot with his feathers, and remains unscathed.

When Zypher attacks from above, Saxon will counter attack for he is on air, and cannot evade.

But the vicinity is always the collateral. While more time passes, more of the Peadoves die.

When the population of the Peadoves went down to 20%, Saxon cannot contain it anymore.

He attacked again and again, but Zypher felt that it is forced.

And so, Zypher continued on massacring every little Peadove he sees.

The population dropped to 10% and that's when Saxon lost it. With a flap of his wings, he ended the lives of the rest of the population, so Zypher will face him.

"What a smart brat."

But Zypher still has his trump card. He faced the now charging Saxon, but then, he showed an egg to him.

A conspicuous egg that is not colored, but grey.

Saxon stopped at his tracks, only to shocked that the gray egg has dirt on it, and is not really grey.

Suddenly, a fireball rained down again, and Saxon tried to get the egg from Zypher, but this move started his end.

Zypher, although fighting Saxon for a long time, didn't had the time to look under his wings.

And now, Saxon protecting the egg from destruction, finally showed his reverse scale.

Under his right wing was a feather that shines brightly, brighter than the other feathers.

Using the egg became a trap to him, and Zypher did not miss.

Using his slingshot, he used mana as a bullet, and hit the reverse scale.

5% of health was chucked down, and Saxon felt it too.

With a sudden movement, Zypher let go of the egg, and with his chaotic moves, Saxon inadvertently stepped on the egg.

Seeing this, the guilt washed over him, with a tinge of sadness and anger, but all he can do is trycto gather the remains of the egg.

But then, Zypher took another egg out. This time, Saxon did not hesitate to attack, only to be met with a fireball that struck his reverse scale.

Chunks of health fell down as Zypher continued this cycle, until he reached 20% of health.

This went on and on because Saxon also regenerates his health, and sometimes, Saxon learns how they move, and tried to stop the damage.

There were times that he just attacks with his left wing, or does a spin mid-air, but Zypher punishes him fast after he does that.

After a few more tries, Zypher finally got him to 20%, but something funny happened.

Saxon did not go to his Phase 2.

Now, Zypher thought of it as a stroke of luck.

He didn't know, but wiping off all the Peadoves makes their king powerless.

Now that he lost his crown, his rule is in jeopardy, and his power is meaningless.

Without further ado, Zypher used another egg, and at the same time, Charity Dagger went back to him.

Thirty minutes have passed, and their positions have changed.

The predator, became the prey, and the worm became the parasite.

Zypher, using Suijin Walk and Susanoo Boost, then ran towards Saxon.

Seeing this, Saxon tried to run, but Zypher took out three eggs.

For him, eggs are more inportant, as he could die, but he can raise the next generation.

Saxon then ran towards the eggs, but Zypher was faster. With a slash, he killed the three eggs, and his Charity Dagger is fully stacked.

Without further ado, he used Raijin Pace to reposition himself.

"One Man Army!"

Using this, he took out Saxon's Strength stat, which made him stronger than Saxon, although not by a large margin, but enough to finish the fight.

Back to 30 minutes ago, he killed the four Elders: Storm, Erupt, Quake and Surge.

Storm, is Ice and Wind.

Erupt is Fire and Metal.

Quake for Sound and Earth.

And Surge is Water and Lightning.

And each Elder has the Special Skill to call each of these calamities.

And now, Zypher has them.

And now, he has another Title in his name.

[Calamity Bearer]

[Raises Mana Effieciency and Effectiveness by 30%.]

And so, everytime he uses Mana, it is 30% more effective.

For example, like how he uses it last time.

A manna bullet is 10 Mana per bullet, but he divides it into ten, so one mana is used, and one small bullet is used.

But now, he can do thirteen bullets, and can fight away longer.

That's just one of it's uses.

Another use is against Mana Shields. A Mana shield can block any damage by how much mana is poured into it.

And this 30% can break a mana shield that has a flat capacity. In short, a 10 Mana mana shield can be broken by his attack.

And now, Zypher is using this title to completely overcome Saxon.

"Call of Surge!"

A skill by Elder Surge, which summons an orb of Lightning and Water.

These orbs are not just orbs for Zypher.

As an all rounder in his past life, he won't betray any weapon he has. It has uses, and it has its own benefit.

Compressing it like a marble, he then used his slingshot to fire the orb towards Saxon, which Saxon then defended, only for him to use Haniyasu Stomp at the right moment to arrive below Saxon, and with Kanayago Skip, he flew towards under the wing.

Equipping Charity Dagger with it's full critical strike, with the power of One Man Army, he used Quick Stab towars Saxon.
