Chapter 46 - Boundless

Laying lifeless on the ground, Saxon let out a small cry as he looked at the razed dungeon.

Each Elder protects each region, but he is powerless to defend them.

Looking at the now barren lands, Saxon can only open his eye as he burn the image into his head before he go.

The once majestic bird now lies in a puddle of blood, with his right wing on the ground, ripped out from his body.

Beside his wing is the man who caught him, and made this mess of a place.

He is sitting at the broken wing, with a blank expression on his face. Printing this image to his head, Saxon breathed his last, and was gone.

[Saxon, the Named Boss, was defeated.]

As Zypher saw this, he then saw the prizes he got.

One is the technique Boundless Tread.

This is the Ninth, and final Step to complete the Nine Boundless Heavens.

Now, all the skills he got earlier lost their original god names and was changed with the word Boundless.

Now, Boundless Step is not just like Fujin Step, which carries him into other places fast, but it also carries the Wind Mana with him, adding wind to his next attack.

Boundless Heavens became like a Spellblade skill to him, which adds mana to each and every move of him.

As he looked at the dungeon now, it is clear and looks like a nuclear weapon was used here. Zypher then took the dungeon core, and placed it at Caelestia.

He won't mind it for now as the city has more defenses now.

After that, Zypher then took out the eight eggs on his Shadow Storage.

These eggs are the last ones he had, with each of the powers the Peadove has.

He then took out a small seed.

This seed was one of the many things he had when he defeated Briar, but he did not use it back then.

[Blood Seed.]

[Uses a medium to make a Blood Summon.]

Yes, like Briar, who has the Soul Seed, and Missile, who has the Shadow Seed, this is the third seed that Zypher has.

With this, Zypher then used Saxon's wing, the eight eggs, the shattered Dragon Scale and some of his blood to activate the seed.

The seed then began to monstrously devouring all of the things in front of it.

At first, Zypher was still good, but then, it ate too many, and is still unsatisfied.

As it's hunger is not satiated, it even ate Saxon's whole body.

And then, the seed began to eat his Hex. He has only ten Stat points on it, but the same as HP, these energies are calculated as 10 in him, as his Mana stat evolved to Energy Stat.

As his 100 Points of Hex was all devoured was when the seed stopped devouring.

Same with Briar and Missile, each of the three summons has one energy. One for Mana, one for Aether, and one for Hex.

While the Seed was eating, Zypher opened his door towards Caelestia, and took the seed with him.

It will take time for it to hatch because he fed so many things to the seed, and it will not be like Briar or Missile.

Maybe, it is better than them.

And so, Zypher took a step inside the Codex Town: Caelestia.

It is still a town for now, not because of the size, but because of the functions.

To explain it further, the Codex is using each and every dungeon core to produce monsters with mutations, and it will also purge it for materials that can be used.

For now, he has equipped every wall and every floating island, that is not yet floating, by the towers he created.

His design, was still a design, and the place is now a mess, but a shy away from being organized.

In truth, the Codex powers up everything, but Zypher knew it can't power up everything, and so, he has to lock some of the usages of the Codex, to make it easier for it to work.

Now, there are no floating islands, but there will be in the future.

While he is contemplating, he then took his time to the Production Hall.

The Production Hall has 12 tables, and each table is different from one another. There are tables that are with machines on them, and there are tables that are simple enough.

But, Zypher did not mind, he can get there when he gets there.

As he walked to the Forging Table, he took the seed and laid it aside. He then looked at his status window, to see what was happening.

[Zypher Miracle - Level 1]

[Title: Calamity Bearer, One Man Army.]

[Class: Apprentice Blacksmith. (Note: Reach Professional Blacksmith to unlock next class.)]

[Codex Skills: Caelestia.]

[Abilities: Stab..]

Blacksmith, a smith in the game that deals with weapons.

Before the Professional Competition, he became an Apprentice Blacksmith from being a beginner one. In short, he is only two steps away from being a Professional.

The first step was completed when he forged the Prismatic Weapon, Charity Dagger, but he did not go up with Greed Chakram as the quest is different.

[Apprentice Blacksmith Quest: Disassemble 120 Rare or higher weapons and learn their blueprints.]

This is now his dilemma. But..

[Rewards]

Blacksmith Eye

Blacksmith Hammer (choice)

Ore (of choice)

Blacksmith Eye. This is one of the thing he has to get before going to the quest. In his past life, he did got annoyed when the quest came to a brick wall again and again. And so, he has to make things here, before going to the field.

But, procuring 120 Rare weapons is not easy.

He tried to get 120 Rare Blueprints from the Codex, but it didnt budge. The counter stayed at 0, and now, he has to buy.

In Zerø, there is a thing called the Trading Sector.

In this, people can sell, buy, or even trade items, resources and even armor for their use, or other purposes.

It is like a tablet in real life, but in a holographic panel.

And so, Zypher started to look at the Rare section of the game.

In this place, there are many weapons, but most of them are repeat items with different stats.

Zypher then took his time, trying to buy some of these, when a notification suddenly popped up.

[Trading Sector Auction (Low) is live. Will you attend?]

Zypher was shocked, but not surprised.

In truth, Trading Sector does this clearance to restock, and take the money they earn to buy new items, or restock the items that sold out from the last quarter.

Zypher, although a bit skeptical, decided to go to the auction. It was a livestream, and even the payment can be done remotely, and the bidders just have to announce their bids, and the highest bid will be posted on the screen, atop the item.

When the bidder gets it, the item will then also be sent to the buyer through the Trading Platform. This makes the Auction so fun and safe from others, and bo problem has emerged since the start.

Knowing this, Zypher stopped hoarding and tried to look at the auction.

[The auction will start in 00:59:57.]

It says, and so, Zypher took the materials that the City got from the past few days to forge a few weapons.

In truth, all he can feed Greed Chakram is his Charity Dagger, as Greed Chakram consumes the durability of the weapon that it ate.

Although yes, the Charity Dagger was destroyed, because of the energy that did not have a way to be released, Chakram Dagger still cannot destroy it by ordinary means.

And so, he has to prepare for times that he has to use both weapons at the same time, and needed a boost for Chakram.

In the bin, there are many raw materials he can see, and some of them, are mutated.

Zypher then took some blueprints from the library, and started to forge some items.

There are three blueprints in front of him: A dagger, a knife, and a shortsword.

Knives, are one-edged blades that is often used for slicing, slashing and cutting, and is not longer than 12 inches.

Dagger is used solely for stabbing, which is true for Charity Dagger: a two-edged blade not longer than a foot.

And a shortsword is a longer dagger, but can be used like a sword for stabbing, cutting, slashing and slicing.

The uses differ, but then again, you can't use a shortsword to cut onions, nor use a knife to fight in a war.

I guess you can still use dagger in both situations, but it doesn't perform well as the other two.

Zypher then opened the furnace, but instead of fire, he used the Fallen Flame he got from battling Briar.

Fallen Flame, is high on heat, so it doesn't need fuel, but needs control in order not to burn the ores.

Like ores, the materials Zypher used have different melting points, for they are body parts of the monsters. Although not tough as an ore, they are tough because of the energies that flows through them.

Zypher then took the first batch and put it into a small stone cylinder, and fed it to the flames.

He then controlled the flames, and started to experiment.

Thirty minutes passed, and Zypher destroyed three batches. Of course, he learned what was the issue is.

Each material has different melting points, that's true, but each mutation varies it.

For example, Undead Bat Claw melts fast, while Corrupted Bat Claw melts rather slow as it absorbs the energy of the Fallen Flame.

This also made him a bit excited for the next experiments. He then batched each of the materials, and made a list of their melting points.

...and burning points.

Controlling temperature is not hard as he controlled mana with ease, and so, he decided forge one when the notification of the Auction suddenly rang.

The auction was starting.

Zypher did not stop, but only watched the livestream as he continued to forge items.

"Welcome to the Lower Trading Sector Auction!"

An old man started as he walked to the center of the stage.

Lanky, with facial hair, but with dignity of a merchant. His suit and tie is neat, and without creases.

"We thank you for your support for the Trading Sector. Now, before we begin, you will be given numbers randomly, so you can bid and buy items."

18 was the number that appeared at Zypher's screen. There was also the bid button, and below it is a typing box where you can type your bid.

"Without further ado, let's start the Auction."

Applause was heard from the background of the livestream.

"First Item, an uncommon item found in the Runic Graveyard."

The man then pulled out a shelf where the item is.

"A dagger corroded by Undead Energy. It's skill is that every attack it does, gives additional Undead Damage to the target."

"Prize starts at 10 Gold with increments of 1."

As the auctioneer said, bids started to pour out, and in just one second, the price got to 25 Gold.

The price went up by 150%. This price would be enough if not for some more people bidding.

This is the Lower Auction, and it houses lower ranked players, especially players who were stucked, and wants to be overgeared to progress.

And the algorithm took Zypher into it as he was Level 1 since the beginning of his journey.

But, Zypher is not the only one.

And now, there are hundreds, if not, thousands of players buying the same item, and this is just the first one.

And now, Zypher saw the power of the auction house.

Within the next ten minutes, 4 items were sold, and the highest got a 500% raise.

And now, for the fifth item, something has piqued Zypher's attention.
