Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 The Glabella Turns Black

Zhou Dong's words naturally moved him greatly, but although he earned this money, something as significant as breeding definitely needed to be discussed with his parents. So he said, "I'll remember what you said! I'll talk it over with my dad later!"

"Alright! Who are we, brothers? If you really want to raise pigs, I'll directly take care of the whole deal for you!" Zhou Dong laughed.

Mao Shanxin saw the two men's stance, clasped his hands with a smile, and said, "You two bosses are really amazing, talking business in my little shabby house! How about giving your brother a bowl of soup?"

"Get lost..."

As they joked, it was already evening, and his sister Wu Xiaoween had just finished school when the class teacher called her, saying her brother was looking for her at the school gate.

Upon hearing this, Wu Xiaoween's first thought was, did something happen at home again? Did her father's cough get worse? Or did the debt collectors come to cause trouble again?...

She ran to the reception room at the school gate, and the first thing she said upon seeing Wu Xiaoyu was, "Brother! What's wrong? Did something happen at home again?"

Wu Xiaoyu heard this and was first stunned, then felt heartache. His sister was attending school while worrying about household matters, which was truly hard for her.

A seventeen-year-old girl, a time meant to be carefree and innocent, constantly worrying about family matters, how cruel fate indeed is!

Fortunately, all of this was behind them now. Wu Xiaoyu had embarked on a path of uprising, with wealth and power at his fingertips; a beautiful life was already beckoning.

"It's nothing! I just came to see you! You should focus more on your studies instead of worrying about unnecessary things all day!" Wu Xiaoyu said.

Wu Xiaoween kept her head down without speaking, and Wu Xiaoyu pointed at Zhou Dong and Mao Shanxin, saying, "These two are my former classmates, Zhou Dong and Mao Shanxin!"

"Hello!" Wu Xiaoween timidly greeted.

Seeing Wu Xiaoween had arrived, the siblings surely had some private things to discuss, so Zhou Dong said, "You two chat first; we'll go outside for a smoke!"

"Alright!" Wu Xiaoyu stood up and said. Once the two left, Wu Xiaoween asked again, "Did something happen to dad again?"

Wu Xiaoyu tapped her head and said, "Stop worrying about everything! Dad is fine, and his cough is almost better!"

"Your brother had a stroke of luck recently, found an old wild ginseng in the mountains, sold it in town for more than a hundred thousand today, and came to see you!"

Wu Xiaoween was stunned upon hearing about more than a hundred thousand. Her family had never seen that much money before! "Brother, how much did you sell it for?"

"Sold it for a hundred twenty thousand!" Wu Xiaoyu said while taking out over a thousand yuan from his pocket and handed it to Wu Xiaoween, saying, "Take this money and buy some new clothes when you have time!"

Wu Xiaoween's monthly living expenses were only three hundred yuan. Being given so much money, how could she bring herself to spend it? She quickly refused, saying, "I don't want it, use it to pay off the debts!"

Their act of exchanging money was just seen by three girls heading out of the school gate. Immediately, they turned and walked to the reception room window to take a closer look.

Coming closer, they recognized her as the class ace, Wu Xiaoween. Her family was very poor, right? How could someone give her so much money? Could it be...

Dirty thoughts spread in the minds of the three, showing contemptuous smiles. They usually saw her acting prim and proper, but didn't expect her to be engaged in this kind of trade?

"What are you doing?" Just as the three were secretly pleased with their discovery, they were caught red-handed by Mao Shanxin and Zhou Dong, whose shout startled Wu Xiaoyu inside.

Wu Xiaoween and Wu Xiaoyu came out upon hearing the commotion and saw three girls from her class crouching under the window, spying on them. Wu Xiaoween said, "Ma Xiaomin, why are you all here!"

Ma Xiaomin? Wu Xiaoyu saw this girl, and in an instant noticed her darkened forehead, with black smoke enveloping her shoulders—typical symptoms of being haunted by an evil ghost. He wanted to warn her.

But the girl stood up and said, "Haha! Isn't this the class ace? What? Found a lover boy? You won't return to school tonight, will you?"

For a blossoming young girl, three words like 'lover boy' may not be particularly offensive, but the latter phrase 'won't return to school tonight' was naked slander!

Wu Xiaoween was intensely angry but calmly explained, "This is my brother!"

No matter how much she explained, perverted minds couldn't change their perverted thoughts. Ma Xiaomin immediately said, "Lover boy? We already know, no need to introduce again!"

The pronunciation of '亲' (brother) and '情' (lover) though similar, Wu Xiaoween's pronunciation was clear, making it impossible to confuse. Clearly, this girl was intentionally causing trouble!

"Do you need me to show my ID card?" Wu Xiaoyu said angrily.

Ma Xiaomin looked Wu Xiaoyu up and down, seeing his dazzling attire and impressive demeanor. He definitely wouldn't be Wu Xiaoween's brother. If her family had money, Wu Xiaoween wouldn't lead such a frugal life.

"Oh! Prepared with ID? Looks like someone is staying out late tonight!" another girl said upon hearing.

Wu Xiaoween wanted to argue but was lost for words. Wu Xiaoyu immediately pulled out his ID card, showing it in front of the three and said, "Take a good look! Wu Xiaoyu, address: Stone Town, Anping Village. Now you believe?"

The most effective way to tackle rumors is to present facts. Faced with undeniable reality, Ma Xiaomin was instantly silent and didn't know what to say. However, a bad girl beside her directly retorted, "Nowadays, it's easy to get a fake ID!"

Ma Xiaomin immediately caught on and said, "Yeah! Who knows if this ID is real!"

At this moment, Zhou Dong suddenly said, "Ma Xiaomin! Aren't you finished yet!"

Ma Xiaomin turned and glanced at him, laughing, "Ah! Zhou Dong, is this your business too? Maybe you're the so-called intermediary?"

If she were a boy, Wu Xiaoyu would have already beaten her so bad she wouldn't recognize her own mother. But since she was a girl, though so detestable, Wu Xiaoyu couldn't bring himself to strike her.

Seeing that explanations were futile, he couldn't let her spread rumors in school, tarnishing his sister's reputation!

He had to divert her attention, shifting her focus away from his sister.

"You are Ma Xiaomin, right? I see your forehead is dark, clearly haunted by some dirty thing. These days, haven't you been sleepless, and in a daze, seeing ghost shadows?" Wu Xiaoyu said.

Ma Xiaomin was startled upon hearing this. She had been in such a state recently, thinking it was due to poor sleep. Now, hearing Wu Xiaoyu's words, she couldn't help but feel a chill!

The bad girl next to her sneered upon hearing this and said, "Trying to scare us?" But Ma Xiaomin pulled her shirt, signaling her to stay quiet.

Wu Xiaoyu continued, "This thing will get worse, and in these days, you may encounter disasters, and those close to you may also suffer!"

His words were both genuine and exaggerated, leaving the three girls dumbfounded, especially Ma Xiaomin, "Could it be true? What should I do? I must ask my dad to bring some Taoists and monks for help!"
