Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: Harvesting Everything

"This is my friend, Ye Fan. He's here to assist me," Fang Nan explained.

Chen Qiang turned to Ye Fan and said, "Mr. Ye, this is a police matter. If anything unexpected happens to you, we can't take responsibility for it. So, please don't interfere with our duties!"

Ye Fan responded, "Your duties? Aren't you out of options right now?"

"Then what do you suggest?" Chen Qiang asked disdainfully. He saw Ye Fan as just a pretty boy, and having one give him orders made him extremely uncomfortable.

"I listened carefully," Ye Fan said with a calm smile. "There are at least fifteen criminals inside and even more hostages—over thirty of them."

"You think you have superhuman hearing?"

"Wrong. My hearing is even better," Ye Fan replied. He was called the King of Heaven for a reason; his abilities had long surpassed human limits. In every aspect of physical function, he was at his absolute peak. That was how he could grasp the situation inside so quickly.

"Team Leader, I think he's disrupting our operation!" Chen Qiang protested.

Fang Nan cut him off with a sharp, "Shut up!" Turning her attention back to the situation, she asked, "Are the snipers in position?"

"They are," Chen Qiang said, his voice deflated. "But the targets are experienced. They're just holding their ground and not coming out."

"Then we have no choice but to take the risk," Fang Nan said. "We'll approach slowly."

"Yes, ma'am!" Chen Qiang replied obediently. It wasn't a good plan, but for now, it was the only one they had.

Just then, Ye Fan asked Fang Nan, "Do you trust me?"

"What?" she asked, puzzled.

"I'll infiltrate their ranks," Ye Fan explained. "Then, we can coordinate an attack from the inside and out to take them all down at once. If you only attack from the outside, they could kill the hostages at any moment."

"But that's too risky! They're ferocious bandits!" Fang Nan said, her voice filled with worry. After all, Ye Fan wasn't one of them. If anything were to happen to him, she couldn't bear the responsibility.

"There's no more time to explain. I'm confident," Ye Fan stated.

Fang Nan said nothing. She saw the absolute confidence in his eyes, and remembering their previous encounters, she knew Ye Fan was no ordinary man.

Finally, she gave the order. "Deploy smoke!"

"Yes, ma'am!"

Immediately, smoke grenades filled the air.

Inside, the bandits were puzzled, not expecting the police to use this tactic instead of negotiating.

"Don't worry! The police from the Divine Land are all the same—all for show. As long as we have the hostages, they can't touch us!" one of them sneered.

"Exactly. All bark and no bite. If they dare rush in, we'll start slaughtering hostages!" another added.

It wasn't that they were deliberately staying; they were waiting for nightfall, which would be the perfect time to make their escape.

While they were laughing and talking, the two men with AKs guarding the hostages suddenly dropped to the ground, shards of glass embedded in their heads. The scene terrified not only the hostages but the bandits as well. They had lookouts posted. The police hadn't charged in, and no helicopters had descended from above. How could two of their men have just died for no reason?

"Who's there?" one of the bandits yelled.

Immediately after, two more bandits guarding the drugs collapsed. The remaining bandits were terrified. The two men had been standing right next to them, yet they hadn't even seen when they were taken down. They ran over and saw the gruesome sight: their necks had been slit by glass.

Looking up, they saw the shards stuck in the wall, and their hearts pounded with fear. A single piece of glass had killed two men at once, and it was now embedded deep in the wall. Their opponent was a master, a master among masters.

At this moment, they were utterly terrified. In the blink of an eye, four of the fifteen bandits had been eliminated. Looking at the two bodies slumped over the bags of drugs, their blood staining the white powder red, the remaining bandits burned with rage. Yet, they still hadn't caught a single glimpse of their attacker.

"ARGH!"

Four more figures collapsed simultaneously. Now only seven remained. Like the others, each had a shard of glass lodged in their skull. They never would have imagined that something as fragile as glass could kill eight of their men. Their attacker had taken out four of them at once, each with a perfect headshot. At this point, a deep-seated fear took hold. What was happening seemed beyond the limits of human ability—not just powerful, but impossibly precise.

The leader nervously shouted, "Shoot the hostages! Force him out!"

The seven men took aim, but just as they were about to fire, Ye Fan made his move. He appeared in the middle of the crowd. With a single punch, he shattered an AK-47. The bandit holding it didn't escape either; a second punch tore straight through his chest. The remaining six abandoned the hostages and opened fire on him.

With agile movements, Ye Fan dodged the bullets. He then scooped up a handful of steel balls from the ground and threw them using his Inner Strength.

"ARGH!"

The next moment, the last six men screamed in agony. The steel balls had all found their mark, embedding deep into the flesh of their faces. They dropped their guns, clutching their bloody faces as they collapsed to their knees, wailing in pain. It was over in an instant. Ye Fan's steel balls had not only subdued them but had also ruptured their eyeballs.

The leader, though surprisingly composed, couldn't see Ye Fan but managed to ask, "Who... who are you?"

"I'm the devil you see in your nightmares," Ye Fan said mockingly.

"I don't care who you are! The Blood Saber Organization will never let you go! Do you think you can hide just because we can't see your face? The moment you attacked us, you sealed your fate! Just wait for the Blood Saber Organization's revenge!"

"Are you finished?" Ye Fan asked.

"What?"

Ye Fan appeared before him and whispered in his ear, "The Blood Saber Organization? A mere second-rate power in Europe. Before me, the King of Heaven, you are nothing."

"So, you're—"

Before he could finish, Ye Fan crushed his throat. He left the others wailing on the floor; it was always good to leave survivors.

Just then, Fang Nan and her team burst in. They froze at the sight before them. This wasn't a kidnapping scene; it was a Hellish Battlefield. They all stared, utterly dumbfounded.

Ye Fan smiled. "The hostages are all unharmed. Does that count as a mission perfectly accomplished?"

"It does! Of course, it does!" Fang Nan exclaimed, her beautiful eyes wide with shock.

The other officers were completely in awe of Ye Fan's power. In their eyes, the mission had been impossible, yet this seemingly unassuming young man had accomplished it single-handedly.

Ye Fan's expression remained calm, betraying no excitement.

The other officers began escorting the suspects and hostages back to the station. Of course, the seized drugs were taken as evidence. The incident was bound to become the biggest news story in all of Jiangning City.

In the car, Fang Nan looked at Ye Fan with a complex expression. "How did you do that?" she asked.
