Chapter 4 - 4

The arrangement of the blue silver grass Wuhun among the clan leaders was a significant matter. The Sea God didn't interfere with it because it was his father's clan. As a result, he turned a blind eye to the subordinate clans.

However, this decision did not sit well with everyone. The subordinate clans, feeling neglected and disappointed, started to lose faith in the Sea God's protection. Despite this, some clans still believed in the Sea God's promise to safeguard them. Their unwavering faith was both a blessing and a curse. It was a reason they continued to fight and hold on, but it also came at a terrible cost. The clans that placed their trust in the Sea God faced relentless persecution.

The entire clans were suppressed, humiliated, and their geniuses assassinated by Hao Tian disciples. As a result, the Li and Min clans, which believed in the Sea God, met tragic ends and disappeared into history. Meanwhile, the other two clans separated from the sect and started developing independently as hidden sects.

The Tang sect and Hao Tian sect, furious that these subordinate clans refused to obey their authority, could do nothing about it. The two clans had already escaped their control and had accumulated enough strength to stand independently on the mainland. Under the orders of the Sea God, Hao Tian sect was declared a hidden sect, forbidden from entering the mainland. This move turned out to be advantageous, allowing the Yang and Yu clans to develop without interference.

The Tang clan, on the other hand, suffered a decline. This decline was a result of the great battle that took place around 4,000 years ago—an epic confrontation between the Sun and Moon Empire and the three Douluo Empires. That war changed the power balance on the continent forever.

Our Yang clan is one of these two clans—a powerful clan known for their martial soul, the Soul Breaking Spear. The spear is a symbol of attack, representing strength and offense. The other is the Yu clan, which is related by marriage, known for their plate-armored rhino martial soul. Their martial soul symbolizes defense, resilience, and endurance.

For generations, the Yang and Yu clans have supported each other, forming a strong alliance. However, history took a dark turn during the great wars 4,000 years ago. Conspiracies and betrayals led to the near-total destruction of the Yu clan. Many of its members were betrayed, massacred, and wiped out. Only a few remnants managed to merge into the Yang clan, surviving.

The Yang clan was furious and took drastic action. Their leader, Yang Tian, assassinated Soul Douluo and ordinary titled soul masters from the Tang clan and other forces involved in the Yu clan massacre. No one knew why these forces supported the Tang clan. Some rumors pointed to Hao Tian sect, but evidence was lacking.

In fury, the Yang clan's leader pointed his spear at the Tang sect, ready to strike back. Just then, Shrek Academy intervened. They negotiated with the Yang clan, promising that they would never interfere with the Yang family or their members, whether they were from Shrek or the Sea God Pavilion. As part of the agreement, Shrek provided four hundred thousand soul bones to the Yang clan.

Yang Tian, listening to his grandfather's recounting of these events, couldn't help but think to himself. No wonder he had never heard of the Yang family mentioned in the legendary Tang sect novels. It made him wonder about his own martial soul. If their family's martial soul was the Soul Breaking Spear, one of the top three ancient attack-type martial souls.

Curious, Yang Tian asked his grandfather, "Grandpa, if our martial soul is the Soul Breaking Spear, doesn't that mean we can get an extra spirit ring compared to others? And isn't it almost impossible for us to breakthrough to level 90 and become a Titled Douluo?"

His grandfather, Yang Shen, smiled gently and replied, "Little Tian'er, it's not that we can't become Titled Douluo. The truth is, there were no Titled Douluo in our Yang family back then. Do you know what a Soul Core is?"

Yang Tian shook his head, listening intently.

Yang Shen explained, "The Soul Core is a special technique created for Soul Douluo to help them break through to Titled Douluo. Our ancestors developed this technique based on the poison pill of Poison Douluo, Dugu Bo. The first Titled Douluo in our family, Yang Tie, was a master of this technique. He was so powerful that he almost defeated a Level 96 Super Douluo veteran in a one-on-one fight.

However, Shrek Academy, at that time, resorted to moral blackmail to force us to hand over this secret technique. Yang Tie opposed this and chose to spread the technique across the Douluo continent, earning fame and respect for defeating a super Douluo veteran within a week.

As for the innate soul ring you mentioned, it's a special soul ring born with your Wuhun. Its age increases as your soul power grows and can merge with the ninth spirit ring you absorb if your physique can withstand the pressure. This method shows qualitative transformation. However, this method is much more difficult and risky.

Other method shows quantitative transformation where suppose innate soul ring age is provided or shared to other soul rings and increase their ages of your choice. You can choose to increase the age of lower level soul rings below 10,000 years or divide equally to all first to ninth soul rings on your own.

Yang Shen paused and looked at Yang Tian with a knowing smile. "Now, little Tian'er, are you ready to start your martial soul awakening?"

Yang Tian nodded eagerly. "Yes, Grandpa. I'm ready."
