Chapter 331 - Chapter 331: Defeating Qian Daoliu

Chapter 331: Defeating Qian Daoliu

As Qian Daoliu spoke, his entire being radiated with angelic purity. His ninth spirit ring glowed, unleashing his ninth spirit skill: Angel's Judgement.

This was no ordinary skill. The eight previous spirit rings also lit up, channeling their power into the ninth, which rapidly expanded, resembling a fusion ring but with even more terrifying intensity.

With the Angelic Sacred Sword in hand, the massive six-winged angel martial soul above him, illuminated by sunlight and divine power, formed a colossal golden sword. This radiant blade shone like the sun itself, blazing with an overwhelming intensity.

Clearly, Qian Daoliu's ninth skill, powered through the Angelic Sacred Sword, held immense destructive force. It was an attack incorporating his entire soul power, divine energy, and even the faith accumulated by Wuhun Hall over millennia.

Yang Potian steeled himself, knowing he couldn't afford the slightest misstep against this ultimate move. All eight of his spear's spirit rings shattered, causing the Soul-Breaking Spear to swell to massive proportions. At the same time, his entire body became encased in armor forged from his one-hundred-thousand-year-old spirit bones.

Activating his ninth spirit skill, Sun-Searing Strike, he hurled his Soul-Breaking Spear, which glowed with brilliant colors, like a comet streaking toward the heavens.

The giant Angelic Sacred Sword descended from the sky, as if cleaving through the world, its holy power infused with an aura of judgment.

Yang Potian's spear streaked upward, piercing through the air and collapsing space in its wake.

The golden Angelic Sacred Sword and blood-red Soul-Breaking Spear collided, shattering the golden light. The spear then tore through the light and pierced straight through the six-winged angel martial soul.

In the aftermath, the lights in the sky faded to nothingness. Yang Potian's armor retracted, and he wiped blood from the corner of his mouth. Despite the protection of his soul bone armor, Qian Daoliu's angelic power had injured him.

But Qian Daoliu was in far worse shape. A gaping wound marred his left shoulder, his energy completely depleted, his aura weak, and his martial soul gravely damaged. Yang Potian had deliberately avoided fatal areas; otherwise, the blow would have pierced his chest or head.

Qian Daoliu, like an aged candle on the verge of extinguishing, used his remaining strength to speak. "Young friend, I concede this fight."

With that, his strength gave out, and he plummeted from the sky like a falling star.

Yang Potian flashed down to catch him, supporting him back to the main hall of the Douluo Hall.

Seeing Yang Potian carrying Qian Daoliu, everyone present looked on in shock. It was evident that Qian Daoliu was seriously injured, and it was uncertain if he would recover.

Qian Renxue and Golden Crocodile Douluo hurried over, each supporting Qian Daoliu on either side, their faces tight with worry. Tears shimmered in Qian Renxue's eyes as she repeated, "Grandfather, grandfather…"

After handing Qian Daoliu over to Qian Renxue and Golden Crocodile Douluo, Yang Potian was about to leave when Bibi Dong stepped forward, her gaze murderous. "Yang Potian, you've gravely injured our Grand Worshiper. Don't you think you owe us an explanation?"

The surrounding elders and worshipers looked at him with hostility, their faces dark, several even visibly seething.

Yang Potian snorted. "It was a fair fight between soul masters. Injuries are part of it. Do I really owe you an explanation?"

Bibi Dong's expression grew venomous. "How dare you! This is a provocation against the Wuhun Empire! Your strength means nothing; we'll fight you to the death!"

Yang Potian chuckled. "Is that really necessary, Bibi Dong? Qian Daoliu isn't dead. He'll recover in time. Instead of worrying about whether I'm provoking the Wuhun Empire, you'd be better off finding a way to help him recover."

Bibi Dong's face twisted in anger. "You're bold, Yang Potian. You may be powerful, but you'd do well to surrender quietly. You might escape, but Tianxing Academy won't."

Seeing Bibi Dong's contorted expression, Yang Potian laughed again. "I've already told you, Qian Daoliu will be fine. I deliberately avoided his vital points in my final strike. He'll recover soon enough. Or do you have no faith in the Wuhun Empire's healers, or even in Qian Daoliu himself?"

"Regardless," Bibi Dong replied, "until our Grand Worshiper has fully recovered, you'll remain in Wuhun City. If anything happens to him, you'll never leave here again."

Yang Potian's eyes narrowed. "Interesting. Qian Daoliu is no mere soul master, and certainly not an easy kill. I'd be surprised if he died so unceremoniously. Isn't that right, Your Majesty Bibi Dong?"

Bibi Dong's face twitched, but she refused to back down. "Regardless of the reason, you've seriously injured our Grand Worshiper. You owe us a full accounting."

Yang Potian sneered. "Owe you what, exactly? It's natural for injuries to occur in combat. Haven't you ever injured anyone during a duel?"

Before Bibi Dong could retort, Yang Potian added, "You're not wrong, though. Starting today, I'll stay here in the Douluo Hall to ensure no one takes advantage of Qian Daoliu's weakened state."

Bibi Dong's face shifted with surprise and frustration. She had seen Qian Daoliu's injury as an opportunity to consolidate her power within Wuhun City, especially over the Douluo Hall's elders. She had planned to use his weakened state to gain control, and the conflict with Yang Potian provided a perfect excuse to rally the elders against Tianxing Academy.

But with Yang Potian's offer to remain in the Douluo Hall, her plans were stymied. Both sides now had an option to back down without further conflict.

Those who had previously glared at Yang Potian with hostility now began to consider this option, realizing it might be the best way forward.
