"I don't get why you asked Azriel to transfer James whitestone" Charles said. "He made An... Guinevere feel uncomfortable. I couldn't stand it despite the fact that she refused to say it" Luke said.
"She's peaceful" Azriel said. "That's a relief" Rose said. "I have to return to my office, I have a lot of work to attend to... Charles shall we?" Luke asked. "Alright" Charles replied.
Both men stood up. "Don't forget to keep me posted about my sister-in-law" Charles said as he disappeared together with Luke.
One week later. Anastasia feels safe now that James is no longer in the country. "My lady it says in the calendar that you're to have picnic with the emperor and Luna" Hannah said. "There's no point in that... I'll be the third wheel in their romance novel" Anastasia said.
"Alright... How about we go for a walk then" Hannah suggested. "That's a great idea" Anastasia said. Anastasia went out for a walk, she passed a beautiful garden. Ladies whispered as she walked pass but she couldn't help but feel uneasy.
"Guinevere come join us for tea" Sarah said with a fake smile. "I would love to but I have to decline" Anastasia said. "She thinks she's better that us. Guinevere just because you've been forcing yourself on the emperor doesn't mean you're better than us" Rita scoffs.
"I'm not forcing myself on the emperor... You can have him if you want" Anastasia said. "Liar!!! You pretend to be a saint. You act like you don't want the throne but you shamelessly cling onto the emperor" Sarah said.
Anastasia took a deep breath. "Alright think whatever you like" Anastasia said leaving them. Sarah pushed Anastasia from behind, Anastasia fell to the ground.
She didn't react, she just dusts herself. "I'll go ahead now" Anastasia said. "Wait... Please come seat and have tea with us. There's no need for the conflict" Jasmine said. Anastasia walked up to them, Jasmine gestured to the chair.
Anastasia sat down despite the fact she could feel eyes staring into her soul. Tea was poured in a cup. "Why don't your maid join us?" Jasmine asked.
"No my lady... I wouldn't dare, I'm just a handmaiden" Hannah said. "Please join us" Jasmine said with a smile. Anastasia gave Hannah a smile, she reluctantly sat beside Anastasia.
Both of them drank the tea and they immediately went to their room. That evening the emperor held dinner, inviting everyone to join him.
Anastasia sat far from attention. She couldn't hold her spoon steady, it kept slipping. Ladies giggled, then the truth struck Anastasia. They did something to her tea that afternoon, no wonder she has been feeling strange lately.
A solider entered the room, he went to the the emperor's side and whispered something in his ear. The emperor nods in affirmation, then the soldier walked up to Anastasia.
Anastasia looked at Azriel then at the soldier. Eventually the soldier whispered something her ears. Her mind went blank in horror. Hannah was dead.
She stood up and ran to the servants quarters. There Hannah laid stiff on the bed, Anastasia touch her face with trembling hands. "No" She whispered.
"She can't be dead... Hannah wake up... Please wake up" Anastasia said as she cried her heart out. Azriel who was in the dining room could feel her pain. He held his wine glass so tight that it broke.
"GET OUT!! ALL OF YOU!!" He yells. Everyone left the room but Rose stayed behind. "Azriel what is the matter?" Rose asked. "Her maid is dead" Azriel said as tears fall from his eyes.
Rose gasped in horror. "Please go be with her.. I can't hold back this anger she harbors inside her heart" Azriel said. Rose rushed to Anastasia.
"You promised to be by side till the end. I didn't kill myself because you made me promise that we will get through this together!!! Wake up please!!!" Anastasia yells. Rose hugged Anastasia tightly.
"I should have known something was wrong when they offered us tea.... I never wanted anyone to suffer because of me. I'll take her place in a heartbeat if I could. I can't lose her" Anastasia said.
"I will kill them" Anastasia said in an eerie voice. "Guinevere wait" Rose called out but she had already disappeared. "Shit" Rose said as she ran to Azriel.
Anastasia found the ladies outside discussing with themselves. "Jasmine look it's Guinevere" Kate said. "What is the matter?" Jasmine asked Anastasia.
Anastasia stretched her hands and a sword with flaming blue light flowing around it appears. "You killed her.... All of you planned to end our life and I shall end yours in return" Anastasia said menacingly.
"She's bluffing... She wouldn't dare" Sarah mused. Anastasia swung her sword and Sarah's head fell to the ground. "Justice must be served" Anastasia said. She killed everyone except Jasmine and Claire.
Azriel stood protecting them like a shield. "Guinevere stop" Azriel called out. "Get out of the way... They must pay for the pain they brought upon me" Anastasia said.
"It doesn't have to end this way" Azriel said. "Didn't you say betraying me is worst than death. Now they shall face a fate far worse than death" Anastasia said. Azriel slowly stepped closer to her.
"Don't come close to me... I'll kill you as well" Anastasia said. "I know the Guinevere is still in there" Azriel said. "There is no Guinevere here.." Anastasia said.
Azriel placed his hand on her face. "I know she is.... Nari bring her to me" Azriel said. "She's in so much pain... She wouldn't want to see you" Anastasia said. "Let her say that to my face" Azriel said.
Anastasia eyes changed colors for a while, it came back to the original color. "They took her from me" Anastasia said. "Forgive them" Azriel said.
"Forgiveness will not bring Hannah back" Anastasia said. "Neither would killing them" Azriel said. Anastasia pushed herself away from Azriel, she disappeared to them but Azriel grabbed her and pulled her close to him.
"Let go of me!!! I have nothing now" Anastasia said. "You have me" Azriel replied. "No I want Hannah" Anastasia said. Azriel pulled her in for a kiss, he pulled her waist close to him.
Anastasia resisted him but Azriel refused to let go. The kiss was rough and messy because Anastasia kept resisting but she eventually gave up and fell into the kiss.
Azriel kissed her slow this time, it felt like he has been wishing for this moment. The way he kissed her is like he's trying to memorize the taste of her lips.
They broke apart, Azriel's hands still rested on her cheeks. "Please stop this madness... You don't want to get more blood on your hands. You don't want to know what that feels like" Azriel said.
"Hannah" Anastasia said silently. "Please I'll punish them but please I want the real you back.. please" Azriel said placing his head on hers. "Rumors said you never begged anyone before" Anastasia whispered.
"You are not just anyone... I will go on my knees for you, if that's what you want me to do right now, if that's what it takes to stop you from killing people. I can handle the killing but don't get your hands filthy" Azriel kissed her hand.
Anastasia pondered for a long time. "Your maid is alive... Luke helped her... Please stop" Azriel said. The sword disappeared from her hand, she became normal again. Azriel embraced her as she cried so hard. "I'm so sorry... I killed them" Anastasia said.
"It's fine... I'm happy you're feeling better" Azriel said. "How can I feel better knowing I killed people?" Anastasia asked. "The mess would be cleaned up... No one would speak about this moment" Azriel said In assurance.
"I want to see her" Anastasia said. Azriel took her in his arms, he looks at Jasmine and Claire. "Don't think I saved you.... I was only saving her from herself" Azriel said and left.
They got to the room, Hannah was taking medicine to help with her body. Azriel sat Anastasia on a chair close to the bed. Anastasia hugged Hannah as she sobbed. "My lady what's the matter?" Hannah asked.
"I love you.... You aren't my maid you are the sister I wish I had. Don't leave me again okay?" Anastasia said. Hannah gave a weak smile. "I promise I'm not going anywhere" Hannah said with a smile.
Back in the throne room. "I've been gone for seven days and yet your wife has managed to kill eight people in a day?" Luke said. "How the fuck was I supposed to know this would happen?" Azriel asked in frustration.
"Your one assignment was to pay attention to her but you seem to be screwing that up everytime" Luke said.
"I don't want to get attached... It would only put her more in danger. Do you think my body doesn't ache to see her? It feels like my heart is literally being electrocuted each time I avoid her... I am willing to risk anything to keep that mortal safe. What scares me most is that... This no longer feels like the bond is making me do this things. It's genuine" Azriel sighs.
"You're in love with her" Charles calmly said. "That scares the shit out of me..." Azriel simply said. Rose sighs. "Azriel... I know it's tough to love her despite the circumstances but for the love of god bro talk to her" Rose said.
Azriel ran his fingers through his hair. "I'll try" He said.
