{The Queen Of The Underworld}
Luna hasn't been feeling well lately. Azriel paid extra attention to her, he sent for the best physician in the entire country. She wished he could take her to his room or better still treat her like Guinevere.
Today's class was just like every other. Boring and the teacher's kept paying too much attention on Guinevere which makes Luna sick even more.
No one seems to be talking about the fact Guinevere murdered eight people. The part that sickens her is the fact that Guinevere pretends like nothing happened.
Today's activity was simple, retrieve the golden dragon egg from the top of the mountain. They were paired as group, unfortunately Guinevere was paired with Luna.
"There in the distance.... I see a fire" Gabriella said. "We should approach it" Luna said. "No... I see a fire but there is no smoke" Anastasia said. Luna rolled her eyes in irritation. Of course she thinks she's better than everyone.
"The dragon may be around some where, we need a plan" Anastasia said. "We don't have time for a plan. The other teams are far ahead from us" Luna said. "We could be walking into a trap for all we know" Anastasia reasoned.
"Who made you the leader?" Luna asked. "This has nothing to do with leadership... I can't allow anyone to be killed because of carelessness" Anastasia said. Luna scoffs.
"You suddenly care about people? After murdering eight people?" Luna said. "Luna stop" Jasmine said. "What are you talking about?" Anastasia asked confused.
"Don't pretend like you don't remember.... You were the one who killed Sarah, Willow... You were the one who killed the eight of them. There was no ambush from the emperor's enemy, you took their lives. Now you want to play the hero?"
Anastasia paused trying to process everything. "You can take the lead" Anastasia said in a whisper. The journey to the mountain was silent, Luna felt proud of herself because she has finally put Guinevere in her place.
The dragon ambushed them from above. "Take cover" Luna said. Everyone hid to safety. The dragon roars made the mountain shake.
Anastasia heard the dragon's voice in her head. "My baby is about to hatch. I can't let them steal my egg"
"Hatch....." Anastasia echoed. Luna ran towards the egg. "Luna no!!" Anastasia ran pushing her to the ground. "What the hell Guinevere" Luna yells. "Don't touch the egg" Anastasia said.
Luna shoved Anastasia punching her. Jasmine and Gabriella tried to break them apart. "You think you're better than everyone. You want to take the egg for yourself" Luna said.
"Stop this madness... We need to work together" Gabriella said. "I will not let you get in my way" Luna said. "You will take that egg over my dead body" Anastasia held a stick Infront of Luna. "I don't want to hurt you" Anastasia said.
"Will you kill me like you killed them?" Luna asked. Anastasia grip tightened on the stick. Luna rushed to Anastasia but the dragon stood behind Anastasia. "You are willing to risk your life to protect my egg" The dragon said.
"I would be a fool to allow them take your egg" Anastasia said in her head. The dragon was stunned. "You can hear me?" She asked.
"Yes.... I will not allow them take that egg. Now let us protect your egg" Anastasia said. The dragon roars again this time Anastasia felt a tingling sensation in her body.
The marks on her body glowed a golden light causing the entire mountain to glow. "I said it before Luna and I'll say it again you aren't allowed to touch that egg. Non of you will lay a finger on that egg" Anastasia said.
The dragon roars in pain, Anastasia felt it. An evil laugh echoed through out the mountain. An arrow was shot to the dragons back, it came out the other end. "I've finally found the famous bride of Azriel" The voice said.
The dragon turned to the man, she refused to back down. Anastasia managed to take the egg and run. "I know you're in here our queen of the underworld" He said with a grin.
Anastasia found Gabriella, she handed the egg to her. "Take this egg back to the castle. Tell Mrs Harper and Miss Sunshine to keep the egg in a safe place. It is about to hatch" Anastasia said. Gabriella took the egg.
"All right" Gabriella took the egg back to the palace. "I can smell you... Little queen, don't make me do something your husband will regret" He said.
Anastasia ran to hide but Luna's foot got stuck in a rock. "Just my luck" Anastasia grumbled. She ran back and helped Luna to her feet. "There you are" He said.
Anastasia and Luna left the ground, both girls float to the sky. The man sniffs Luna. "Ew... Not you" He said. He sniffs Anastasia, a smile crept his face. "There you are" He said with a satisfied smile.
He lets go of Luna, she screamed as she falls down. Luke caught her mid air. "I've got you" Luke said with a smile. "Take her back to the castle.... " Was all Azriel could say. Luke disappeared to the castle with Luna in his arms.
"Finally the coward shows himself" The man said. "Let the girl go Ezekiel" Azriel said. "The rumors are true about your wife, great king" Ezekiel said.
"I will not repeat myself the third time Ezekiel, let her go" Azriel said. "I'm afraid I can't do that. I was sent to bring the queen back dead or alive" Ezekiel said. "You will die before that would happen" Azriel said.
Ezekiel placed a blade close to Anastasia's neck. "What would you do if I killed your wife". Ezekiel snorted. "That mortal is not my wife... Don't waste your time" Azriel said.
"That's a lie... Don't tell me she doesn't know the truth" Ezekiel said. "Don't say something that would result to your death" Azriel said as his hands was engulfed in flames.
Azriel strikes Ezekiel, both men went into full battle mode. Anastasia fell from the magic rope, Ezekiel stops Azriel from saving her. The dragon flew and caught Anastasia on her back.
Everything happened so fast. Anastasia felt the pain and anger in her vains. She sat close to the dragon, she was fully exhausted. The only thing she heard was Ezekiel begging Azriel.
"You dare to touch my wife!!! Death shall be your fate" Azriel said. Ezekiel's Scream echoed throughout the valley. Anastasia saw Azriel walking towards her. "Are you alright?" Azriel asked. "Am I able to feel your emotions your grace?" Anastasia asked.
Azriel pulls her in his arms. "I'm happy you're safe" Was all Azriel said. The dragon made a whimper. "What's wrong with her?" Anastasia asked weakly.
"She's dying" Azriel said. "No...no she can't die. You can't die. Who would take care of your child?" Anastasia asked. "She wants you to take care of her egg" Azriel said.
"I can't take care of your child. I can't take proper care of a rabbit let alone a dragon.... Please don't die" Anastasia said trying to run to her but Azriel pulled her back.
"Let go of me.... Please" Anastasia begged. The dragon disappeared into dust. Azriel held her head and placed her head on his chest.
They sat in silence for a while. "I can't do this.... " Anastasia said. "What?" Azriel asked. "I'm a bad person... I was the one who killed Sarah and seven other girls"
"What do you mean?" Azriel asked. "Luna told me I was the one who killed them. She called me a monster" Anastasia said. Azriel folds his hand into a fist.
"Why did you lie to me? How would I sleep now knowing that I caused pain to a lot of families?" Anastasia asked. "It wasn't your fault"
"Does my reaction justify my action?" Anastasia asked. "Just rest I'll handle the rest" Azriel said. "Am I your wife?" Anastasia drifted off to sleep.
They returned to the castle, Azriel dropped Anastasia on the bed. He went to the throne room.
"Your Majesty you sent for me" Luna said as she walked up to him. Azriel stood up deliberately, every step was measured and calculated.
Azriel gripped her neck so hard. "I gave specific instructions that nobody speaks about what happened that night. Yet you have the audacity to tell it to her face. I'm beginning to wonder how you got bold so quickly" Azriel said.
"I'm... I'm... sorry" Luna said. Azriel let's go and slapped her hard. Azriel called guards into the room. "Take her to the dungeon.... Make her understand the consequences of disobeying me" Azriel said.
