Chapter 418 - Jim Morry

Texas, the heart of US oil, the engine that supplied the country and established the country's dominance in the globally critical sector.

 Though my motion and reasons had to do with the fields that stretched across the corners of the state, I wasn't visiting those regions.

 I instead came to Houston, driving through River Oaks, where the street and air were clean, the residents looking like they had never worked a single day in their lives.

People could cry about capitalism all they wanted, but so long as there were those willing to outwork others, the brutal hierarchy was forever going to stay.

 I endorsed the installation of regulations, though, laws to keep the extremely wealthy in check, especially when those laws didn't restrict me or could be circumvented by me.

I had been to several wealthy neighbourhoods, but I found the streets in River Oaks distinct due to the tall gates and high fences.

 The people here didn't joke with their privacy and security.
