Chapter 57 - The path the gambler: the butcher 2

-Marston-

The next day, I wake up needing to get a new sword because my old blade broke some time ago.

I suppose I could go to the street of steel; hopefully, there will be some knight that came from the last tourney looking at the weapons on display on his own.' I thought to himself.

I then went to the street of steel and just wandered there while looking at the different people as well as the weapons.

'Damn, all the good swords are really expensive! I can't buy any of them.'

'Well, back to plan A, I'll find someone to kill and get his weapons. That guy seems promising.' I thought while noticing someone wearing good-looking leather armor.

He was talking with a merchant about a bastard sword on display before taking out his purse without care and handing the merchant a lot of gold in exchange for the sword. The main reason I chose him was that the warrior was alone; as such, he could probably manage to isolate him somewhere to take his weapon and, if possible, kill him. After purchasing the weapon, the man left the shop and kept going further in the street while looking at the wares on display. I started following him from a distance; he kept stalking him for 2 hours, after which the man finally went back to his house in one of the wealthier parts of the city.

Once I knew where the man lived, I found a spot that was well hidden and stayed there to ensure that the man didn't leave the house until the night. Once night fell on the city, Davos made sure no one was around before he left his hiding spot. He then went to the door, but it was closed, and he couldn't open it. Luckily for him, the man must have been quite wealthy, as his house possessed a window made of glass not far from the door. As such, he checked once more that no one was in the street before breaking the window and entering the man's house.

Glass crunched softly beneath my boots as I crept into the darkened house. Moonlight filtered through the broken window, casting pale streaks across the floor.

The place smelled faintly of wine and oiled leather. A rack of armor stood in the corner, freshly polished, and the new bastard sword lay propped against a table.

As I listened, I could hear breathing coming up from upstairs.

Moving silently, I ascended the narrow staircase. Halfway up, I activated my [Unnerving Aura], letting it seep out.

At the top, a single door stood ajar. I peeked inside; the man lay in bed, shirtless, snoring faintly. A dagger rested on the nightstand within easy reach.

I eased into the room. The floor groaned once under my weight; the man's eyes snapped open.

"What the…?" he started, reaching for the dagger.

I let the Aura pulse harder. His hand froze midair, trembling, eyes widening with primal fear.

"Shhh," I whispered, stepping closer, my cleaver glinting in the moonlight. "Just sleep."

He shook his head violently, snapping out of it, and lunged for me.

I dodged, grabbed his arm, and slammed him against the wall. He swung wildly, but fear slowed him and made him sloppy. I buried the cleaver into his neck with a wet crunch. Blood sprayed across the wall as he gurgled, clawing at my arm.

With a twist, I dragged him down to the floor, straddled his chest, and plunged the blade again and again until his struggles stilled.

I stood, wiping blood from my face, breathing hard. A grin crept across my lips. "Let's test that magic."

From the corpse, I snapped off two fingers and a jawbone. Muttering the words that were instinctively burned into my mind, I stitched them together with threads of shadow and marrow.

The fingers twitched, scraping against the floor, moving like pale spiders. The jawbone clacked open and shut, whispering guttural noises.

Before leaving, I wiped down the scene, pocketed the warrior's purse, and slung his bastard sword across my back.

-Later-

That night, after feasting on the man's flesh and collapsing into bed, darkness claimed me.

I stood in a pitch-black void, the air thick and damp. Then, like a candle flaring to life, his face appeared the man I killed hours ago.

"W-why… Why did you…"

I tilted my head, unimpressed. "Because you had what I wanted. And now you're here."

He began screaming, a wail so loud it should have deafened me, but instead it felt distant, almost hollow. This "curse" was not so bad.

-Later-

As the morning came, I prepared myself, packing my stuff and, unfortunately, giving my leftover meat to an old friend of mine, who did not give a fuck where the meat came from as long as it was edible.

I know how my powers work. I gain rolls with conflict and actions, and it's all evolving around "relevant" people, so if I can interact with them, I could get more rolls.

By "relevant" I think it's referring to the lord and knight in this large kingdom.

Unfortunately, even though King's Landing is a hub full of them, most of the little cunts never go around Flea Bottom, or they're so low-ranked and irrelevant that my power informs me that it would not give me a roll.

Coincidentally, the fat stag king left with a host of men and his family. I heard rumors that they were going north, but I could care less about that.

I could go to the Red Keep, but with [Tracker], I know for a fact Barristan Selmy is not counting the other Kingsguard members.

So I will try my luck outside of the capital. Maybe I will go to the Riverlands. I heard the River Lords are always fighting each other, not like I have proper knowledge on that since the only time I've been to that area was during the King's rebellion and during those damn iron cock sucker rebellions.

-Later-

At dawn, I slipped through the city gates with a handful of sellswords and traders heading out.

The Kingsroad stretched out ahead, a serpent of packed dirt winding through forests and rolling fields. I hadn't walked it since the King Rebellion, and even then, I was just another faceless soldier in the mud.

I didn't ride a horse; I couldn't afford one. My boots carried me mile after mile.

A black crow fluttered down from the treeline, perching on a low branch.

"Food nearby?" I asked softly using [Beast speak] to communicate with the bird.

Its head tilted, beady eyes gleaming. "Fresh kill… deer to the east," it cawed in my mind.

"Good bird."

With its guidance, I found the carcass of a stag brought down by wolves. "Good" I said as I pulled out my sword, killing the two wolves that were eating chunks of my deer after that I carved what I needed, salting strips of venison for the road.

Two days later I find a small encampment just off the Kingsroad: three hedge knights drinking around a fire, armor stacked carelessly nearby.

I crouched in the brush as the sun dipped. My cleaver rested across my knees, fingers itching.

Quest added

[Kill the three hedge knights]

Reward: 3 rolls

The Gasping Doll blinked into existence, hovering beside me. As the sun went down completely I waited until the laughter died down, until the drink slowed their hands and dulled their eyes. Then I moved.

The first knight never saw me coming. I slipped behind him, [Unnerving Aura] rolling out like a silent tide. His body stiffened, hands trembling as he tried to rise.

"Wha…?" was all he managed before my cleaver hacked deep into his collarbone. Blood sprayed the firelight as he collapsed, screaming.

The other two lurched up, fumbling for their swords.

I kicked the wounded knight into the second one, sending them both sprawling. The third charged, sword swinging wild. I ducked under it, grabbed his wrist, and twisted until bone snapped like dry wood.

His scream mixed with the fire's crackle.

"Should've stayed on the road," I hissed, driving my cleaver into his gut, twisting until he gurgled and fell.

The other two scrambled back, fear wide in their eyes. I leapt on the first, straddled him, and buried the cleaver into his throat again and again until hot blood coated my face.

The other one tried to run, but I grabbed my sword and quickly stab them in the back, my sword going through his stomach as I quickly pulled it out, dropping his body on the floor.

Quest completed

[Kill the three hedge knights]

Reward: 3 rolls

[Results: Trash Item, Common Familiar, Trash Power]

[Dread Helm] source: DnD

A black metal helmet that is fairly durable, the eye holes in the visor can also glow an intimidating red.

[Brown Bear]

A regular big old brown bear companion, as a familiar they are a bear who has excellent genetics and near human intellect, they are strong enough to shrug off most small firearms and crush a human being like an apple. By default they are female.

[Bear Manipulation]

Allows you to take control of all bears within a 50-meter radius around yourself. Good luck finding so many bears.

I pulled the Dread Helm from thin air, the visor glowing faintly as I slipped it over my head.

Then came a low, rumbling growl from the treeline. My new companion lumbered out a brown bear.

"Well," I said, grinning beneath the helm. "Guess I'm not walking alone anymore."

The bear snorted, padding closer, and the Gasping Doll let out another wet gasp before vanishing back into my inventory.

I cleaned my weapons, cut enough meat for the road, and mounted the bear's broad back.

Time to ride north.

-Later-

As I kept traveling I eventually saw from the distance what like a small town. Getting off my bear as it disappears…going whatever my living summons go to as I decided to walk on foot to the town.

As I entered the town getting weird looks due to my helmet (they probably think I'm a knight) but the smell of ale and sweat drew me to a two-story building with faded red paint and peeling shutters. A crude sign swayed above the door, shaped like a woman's silhouette.

A brothel, I pushed the door open. The hinges creaked, as I look around seeing women in colorful dresses lounged against the walls, laughing too loudly. A fat, balding man behind the counter froze when he saw me, his grin faltering as his eyes traveled to my helmet.

"I want to rent a room….and a girl" I said with the helmet, my voice sounding more intimidating and completely different to my regular voice.

The brothel keeper swallowed hard, his beady eyes darting to the women at his back before settling on me.

"Room upstairs," he said quickly. "And a girl of your choice. Three silver."

I dropped the coins on the counter without a word. My gauntleted finger pointed to a dark-haired girl lingering by the stairs. She hesitated, biting her lip, but the keeper gave her a sharp nod. She pasted on a smile and led me up the creaking steps.

As I follow her I just kept looking at the girls body. She looked young probably but I didn't have a problem with that besides, she had a nice bubble butt like i would enjoy eating her.

A bed with thin sheets, a table with a single candle. I closed the door behind us, locking it with a soft click.

She turned to face me, nervous but trying to play her part. "So… ser knight," she said softly, voice trembling, "you want…"

Before she could say another word, I simply threw her to the bed as I started ripping her dress open showing her ha cheeks as I remove my trousers.

As I pulled out my cock I grab her hips as I start opening her ass cheeks sheathing my cock in one brutal thrust the girl cried out, back arching off the bed as she was speared open. Her pussy clenched around my cock.

I didn't give her time to adjust as I kept thrusting inside of her as I heard the girl whimper, a pain, considering I was not being gentle with her.

As her noises annoyed me, I put a piece of cloth in her mouth, making her shut up especially after I started biting her shoulder.

I eventually got bored of her and simply told her what she needed to know in her head telling her for a fact that I was going to eat her.

She tried to fight, of course, but the physical strength of a little girl cannot compare to a man double her senior.

As I stabbed her with my sword I eat a raw chunk out of her…not bad.

-Later-

Everyone just me it would've been impossible to leave without being killed, but thankfully, I had a fucking large bear that was under my command.

As I see my bear massacre the entire habitants of this town, I thankfully managed to save some of them, not before killing them and eating a part of them to continue my progress of one of my quest.

This town was truly pathetic. There was not even a single knight and all the men that live here died pathetically to my bear and myself, of course.

As I looked through the several dead bodies around me, I decided to experiment using the only magic spell. I know I will try to experiment with it.

Feeling the uses of my spell I could feel the necromancer energy as I tried to use it for a different purpose as I cover the entire body, trying to see what I could do with this.

The corpse staggered forward, half‑rotted feet dragging through the dirt. Its head lolled to the side, a milky eye rolling in its socket.

Perfect "now move" I commanded the corpse stiffened, then slowly raised its head. Its jaw creaked open letting out a low guttural hiss that made my helm vibrate.

At last, it stood before me.

Skill upgraded

[Crude Reanimation]

You can now raise and control entire human corpses instead of small stitched parts. These crude undead are slow, brittle, and lack higher thought, but they will obey your simple commands and fight until destroyed.

Dissipating the creature as I fell back to the floor I decided I should probably leave with that thought I got on top of my bear as we left the destroy town quickly.

XxX

I found a new where it does the rolls for me so I decided to start using it and better than to use it on a fic then I still don't know how I'm gonna do.

I actually got lucky with the bear stuff getting two rolls relating to bears was something I did not expect I almost re-rolled tho.
