Law endured until the last moment, trusting that Ging would pull him into the Game Space at the critical instant.
He succeeded, and Ging did not betray his trust, helping him out of danger in time.
When he came out of the Game Space again, Law was already at Ging's original position.
Within the battle circle, Coo's massive body lay on the ground, like a mountain range stretched out before their eyes.
Law and Ging stood shoulder to shoulder, watching Coo, who lay motionless on the ground.
"Does this count as the first step?"
Looking at Coo's corpse, Law's expression was calm.
Although killing Coo seemed like a feat in others' eyes, his heart was unmoved.
"Yes, the first step."
Ging's eyes flickered with a strange light.
This was the Dark Continent. An ant bringing down an elephant was only the first step.
Far in the distance, Beyond's team and the Hunter Association's team each stopped, silently watching the mountain-range-like massive corpse.
'Law had really done it. Incredible.'
Compared to Coo's size, such a tiny human could actually achieve this.
In a sense, Law's strength was already beyond human.
The tremors from the ground gradually faded, but the shock in everyone's hearts lingered.
Compared to the reactions of Beyond and his group, Biscuit's side was much calmer. They had seen Law accomplish another feat deep on the ocean floor after all.
However, during the battle, their hearts had still been in their throats.
Now seeing Law succeed in killing Coo, the tension finally eased.
"Monster..."
The skeleton's gaze flickered, involuntarily muttering.
'That staff must be a relic of ancient humans, right?'
'Only such relics possessed special abilities.'
'But for modern humans to freely use ancient human relics was extremely difficult.'
'Before using them, one first had to overcome the drawback of Backlash, and second, the output rate of life force had to keep up... otherwise, the true effectiveness of the Relic could not be displayed.'
That group of humanoids heading towards a different evolutionary path had, among their goals, the ability to use the Relics left behind by ancient humans.
The skeleton hadn't witnessed Law's feat on the ocean floor... otherwise, his estimation of Law might have risen another level.
Even so, he had still drastically revised his previous assessment about Law.
At the ruins, everything returned to calm, but the dust hadn't fully settled.
For a short time, everyone's eyes were fixed on Coo's body.
Suddenly, Coo's body shattered like fleeting light, disappearing in an instant, leaving behind countless glowing particles like fireworks in daylight.
Including the several silver spikes Law had severed, and the blood that had flowed like rivers, all vanished with her body.
It was a phenomenon harder to understand than a popped balloon.
A balloon inflated with air leaves behind scraps after bursting.
But Coo's corpse had suddenly vanished, along with the vast amount of blood, leaving no trace.
This sudden, eerie sight sent another shockwave through the Nen Users already reeling from internal tremors.
Law's expression changed, and he rushed to the vicinity at top speed.
On the chaotic ground lay a small black house cat, curled up, its life force faint.
The cat's ears were very long, with tiny silver spikes, and many retracted spikes covered its back.
From these two features, one could deduce the cat's true identity… it was Coo.
"She's not dead?"
Law's expression tensed. He swiftly moved to Coo's side, Nen swirling around his right hand, ready to deliver a finishing blow when Ging's somewhat hurried voice came over.
"Don't."
Just one word, succinct.
Law stopped his hand, looking questioningly at Ging as he approached.
"Keep her alive for questioning."
Ging reached his side, directly stating the reason.
Hearing this, Law realized his oversight. It was a case of being in the dark while the bystander saw clearly.
When engaging Coo, though he had won, her threat had been substantial, so his immediate thought had been to eliminate her as quickly as possible, not considering capture.
Now, Coo appeared very weak, the perfect time for capture.
Law withdrew the Nen from his right hand. He then used his ability, telekinetically manipulating Coo's body, making it float in the air, then spreading her limbs, and restraining her movements.
"I don't want to heal her. Too risky."
"Yeah. If she giantifies again, it'll be a real handful. But we don't need to take her back to the Hide-and-Seek Dimension. If we can't get any information, we can dispose of her then."
Law was silent for a moment, then nodded in agreement with Ging.
After all, as long as they didn't heal her, with Coo's current state, she probably couldn't cause much trouble.
Ging stepped forward, looking closely at Coo, whose limbs were spread, eyes tightly closed in a comatose state. He said curiously, "Hey Law, you obviously used the staff to pry open her head, but there's not a scratch on her body."
"Compared to that, the ability to become so huge is far stranger, right?"
"Yeah. And when she shrank back to normal, even the blood disappeared. Like a mirage..."
"But it was definitely a physical form."
Law's eyes showed contemplation. He had fought the giantified Coo at close range and confirmed her giantified form was physical. So when that body suddenly vanished into thin air, he was probably the most surprised of all.
Lacking information, he couldn't help but connect Coo and Kuro.
'Smoke transformation, giantification.'
'These were skills Kuro could use.'
'But Kuro was a Nen Beast, while this one was a Magical Beast.'
'In appearance alone, there was little difference. But fundamentally, they were far apart.'
'Unless...'
Law thought of a possibility, his eyes narrowing.
Nearby, Ging seemed to be pondering the same thing and arrived at the same conclusion.
They looked at Coo together, silently thinking: 'Could this Magical Beast actually be a Nen Beast? But it doesn't seem like it.'
"My, my, what a sexy figure. It's just those spikes are an eyesore."
Just then, Kuro took the initiative to emerge from the back of Law's hand, closely examining the unconscious Coo, immediately starting to critique.
His frivolous and somewhat perverted tone interrupted Law and Ging's train of thought.
The two watched Kuro enthusiastically circling around Coo, a line of black marks appearing on their foreheads.
Then, they saw that merely looking wasn't enough for Kuro... he actually reached out and lightly touched one of Coo's hidden areas.
"Meow~?"
Kuro's body suddenly trembled slightly, as if a current had shot through him.
"Gulp."
He couldn't help but swallow, then found himself reaching out to touch Coo's body again.
Watching from the side, Law and Ging's mouths twitched slightly.
