The massive broadsword, stained with mottled blood and carrying the wailing of wronged souls, whipped up a bone-chilling wind as it hacked viciously toward Gwen.
Gwen gave a soft snort.
So rude for a first meeting. This big guy is definitely not a good person!
As the thought settled in her mind and the broadsword descended toward her head, Gwen instantly transformed.
Pale bones, dancing blue flames—Gwen became a spirit of vengeance burning with the fires of hell.
"Hah!"
Grinning, she reached up just as the blade was about to strike her skull.
Sizzle!
With a crisp sound, her palm collided with the blade.
The sharp broadsword cut a barely perceptible wound into Gwen's palm. However, the injury existed for less than a split second before being repaired by the blue flames. As the blade continued to press down, Gwen grinned. The blue fire roared, surging onto the broadsword and burning along the wide blade toward Pyramid Head's body.
Pyramid Head remained silent, continuing to exert force as he pressed down on his blade.
"Hah!"
Gwen gave a contemptuous laugh, gripping the blade and pushing it aside with ease.
A wisp of blue flame landed on Pyramid Head. Gwen yanked the sword toward her, raised her leg, and kicked Pyramid Head squarely in the chest, sending him flying instantly.
Immediately after, with a swing of her arm, the flaming broadsword flew through the air. It pierced through Pyramid Head's body, pinning him to the wall.
Witnessing this scene, Peter and the others gasped.
Compared to Pyramid Head, it seemed Gwen was the more terrifying one.
"Yeah!"
Gwen turned back to the group and flashed a victory sign.
A cute flaming skeleton?
The group unconsciously took two steps back before bursting into laughter.
"Let's go!"
Gwen deactivated her transformation and continued walking with the others. However, after only a few steps, she suddenly looked back at Pyramid Head pinned to the wall.
Pyramid Head was gripping the weapon that impaled him, pulling it outward with all his might. The sound of metal grinding against bone and flesh made everyone's hair stand on end.
"He's still not dead?" Peter exclaimed in surprise.
Gwen smiled faintly, looking at Pyramid Head as she slowly said, "Now this is getting interesting."
Judging from her brief exchange with him just now, Pyramid Head wasn't particularly strong. But now, she could feel waves of evil energy being injected into his body, making his aura increasingly powerful.
"Is it that Alessa?"
Gwen tilted her head, a thought forming in her mind.
According to Heather, Pyramid Head was Alessa's guardian—her muscle. Now that her muscle had been beaten, Alessa naturally couldn't sit still.
Gwen even suspected that the reason Pyramid Head fought her was that Alessa wanted her dead. Since Gwen had displayed a portion of her power in the darkness, Alessa felt threatened by her.
"A threat? If I become a big enough threat that her guardian can't stop me, will she show herself?"
Gwen murmured, watching Pyramid Head break free and approach her with his weapon. Blue flames erupted from her body once more, and she transformed back into a burning skeleton.
Pyramid Head approached slowly, exuding immense pressure.
Gwen grinned, vanishing like a phantom. She reappeared in front of him, sidestepping his descending blade and stepping onto the back of the knife. As he stumbled forward, she snatched his broadsword, delivered a vicious knee to his abdomen sending him flying, then transformed into a blue blur to chase him down. As he landed, she drove the broadsword deep into his chest, pinning him to the ground once again.
This time, before Pyramid Head could rise, Gwen planted her foot firmly on his chest, pinning him down hard.
She bent over, grinned at him, and mocked, "You are really weak, you big baby."
Pyramid Head's body stiffened, and the creature, who had been silent all this time, actually roared in anger.
He struggled violently, like an enraged beast.
But Gwen just laughed, slowly increasing the pressure of her foot.
Just then, Gwen suddenly felt surges of energy rushing into Pyramid Head's body, amplifying his strength.
The energy was so unbridled that Gwen immediately traced the source connected to Pyramid Head.
Is it Alessa?
Gwen whispered to herself, then turned to the group. "Heads up! We're leaving!"
She whistled, gathered a massive amount of hellfire in her hands, and threw it at her feet.
Whoosh!
Blue flames erupted, swallowing Pyramid Head and rapidly destroying his body.
Even with Alessa's power pouring into him to defend against the fire, it couldn't stop the flames from consuming him.
Just then, accompanied by the roar of an engine, the RV they had arrived in appeared before them, smashing through the wall behind them like a flaming beast, knocking aside everything in its path.
Heather stared at the vehicle in amazement. "W-what is this?"
"Gwen's magical transport," Luke said with a laugh. "Get in, quick! Gwen must have found something!"
Although ordinary vehicles would fail in this world, the RV, temporarily enchanted by Gwen, was clearly an exception.
To deal with magic, one must use magic...
Gwen murmured. Once Peter and the others quickly boarded the vehicle, she leaped up, landing on the RV's roof. She glanced at the struggling Pyramid Head, curled her lip, and they sped away.
The RV, wreathed in blue flames and controlled by Gwen's power, drove straight toward the location she sensed.
Boom! Boom!
Everything blocking the way was knocked aside by the RV.
Buildings had holes smashed through them, monsters were sent flying or crushed—nothing could stop the burning vehicle.
A moment later, the RV stopped at an amusement park.
Looking at the park, Heather exclaimed in surprise, "I've dreamed about this place!"
She frowned, recalling, "I remember in my dream, there was a very strange girl here."
"Alessa!" Peter whispered.
Heather hummed in thought. "I don't know who she is, but she looked tragic. Misfortune, curses, evil... these things clung to her, making her look like a demon."
Hearing Heather's description, everyone felt a chill in their hearts.
Just then, they saw Gwen jump down from the roof, and Heather seemed to sense something as well, looking toward the carousel in the distance.
"She's there..."
Heather murmured, speaking with absolute certainty. Her eyes gradually lost focus, and as if in a trance, she moved to exit the vehicle.
"What are you doing!"
Peter shouted in alarm, causing Heather to shudder and snap out of it.
She looked at the carousel, her face pale with unease. "I can feel it. Something there is calling to me."
"Whatever it is, it's about to have a bad time," Harry said with a grin, his eyes burning as he looked outside.
Hearing this, everyone hurriedly looked out.
The skeleton burning with blue flames walked through the amusement park. She looked at the surrounding rides with interest, then spoke to a shadow in the center of the carousel that seemed to blend with the darkness. "Did you build this for yourself?"
"Who are you?"
A voice rang out, filled with so much resentment that just hearing it was unsettling.
"Me? Just a curious tourist."
"Since you're here, get out! You are not welcome here!"
"No, I find this place quite fun."
Hatred instantly welled up in the shadow's eyes.
Gwen looked at the shadow and smiled. "Don't look at me like that, Alessa."
Perhaps provoked by the name, flames suddenly erupted, igniting the carousel. The figure finally appeared clearly before everyone.
She had short hair that looked scorched, hanging in strands. Her face and body were stained with black ash, as if she had just escaped a fire.
Her skin was as white as a wall, but her features were as black as ink.
Black and white outlined a bone-chilling hatred on her face.
Alessa.
Looking at the girl before her, Gwen smiled. "Don't look at me like that. I'm scared."
Alessa gritted her teeth. "You want to die!"
She could feel a strong threat coming from Gwen, but Gwen's repeated provocations had enraged her to the breaking point.
"Don't be so angry. You attacked me first, Pale-Face."
Gwen's voice turned cold. "Also, those missing people—is that because of you?"
Alessa sneered. "You'll know when you're dead!"
For such a monster to appear next to her good side (Heather), the goal was definitely not innocent.
Alessa reached out toward Gwen. Under her control, flames paved a fiery path, encircling Gwen in fire.
Gwen looked at the flames with interest, then her gaze landed back on Alessa.
Alessa walked toward Gwen step by step. With every step, it seemed as if resentment and darkness dripped from her body, and the cold, sinister energy around her grew thicker.
"Although I don't know who you are, or why you came here, you shouldn't have intruded!"
"Hah!"
Gwen suddenly laughed. "You're talking so much only because you're not confident you can kill me."
If Alessa could crush her easily, she wouldn't waste time talking so much nonsense.
Alessa shouted angrily, "Then die!"
Following her voice, the flames surrounding Gwen lunged ferociously at her.
Gwen stood still, letting the fire swallow her.
Alessa paused, a look of vindictive pleasure crossing her pale face.
"You're using fire against me?"
Accompanied by a mocking voice, Gwen stepped out of the flames, grinning at Alessa. "This fire is too weak!"
Although it looked terrifying, it was just ordinary fire.
"Ahhh!"
Alessa screamed. The flames she controlled exploded, flying in all directions like fireworks.
An invisible force lifted her, carrying her rapidly into the air.
She looked down at Gwen from above and clenched her hand. Cracks appeared in the earth, and the ground churned as if trying to swallow Gwen whole.
Gwen gave a sharp laugh and moved quickly, simultaneously firing arrows made of blue flame toward Alessa.
An invisible force, accompanied by deep resentment, shielded Alessa.
The flames struck the invisible shield, making sizzling sounds.
Alessa was startled. Before she could react, she was completely overwhelmed by a rain of blue fire arrows.
Alessa protected herself, but a violent impact suddenly exploded against her back, blasting her toward the ground.
When?!
Alessa's pupils contracted. She quickly stabilized herself, but a wisp of blue flame still landed on her body.
Sizzle!
A crisp sound rang out, bringing pain to Alessa. It reminded her of the scene before she became this monstrosity—being roasted as a witch, screaming helplessly in the flames.
"Ahhhhh!"
She screamed as if losing her mind. The entire amusement park instantly boiled over.
The ground shook, and chunks of debris peeled off the earth, flying into the air, followed by the rides themselves.
Pirate ships, carousels, roller coasters, Ferris wheels...
It was as if the world was shattering, pulled into the sky by Alessa.
Watching the shocking scene outside, the people in the RV were tense to the extreme, but Little Lamb waved his fists excitedly. "Go, Big Sister!"
"Die!"
Alessa waved her hand, and everything smashed down toward Gwen.
It was like the whole world was falling.
Gwen chuckled low. She tugged at the chain wrapped around her body. As a ghostly blue glow coated the chain, Gwen flicked it lightly, wrapping it around a large falling rock.
The next instant, Gwen pulled hard, vaulting into the air. Then, the chain in her hand flew out again, wrapping around a falling carousel horse, launching her upward once more.
In the eyes of Peter and the others, Gwen seemed to transform into a strange, ghostly flame, maneuvering through the air and constantly closing the distance to Alessa.
Alessa watched the approaching Gwen and stubbornly continued to smash things down at her.
Finally, after passing through the gap of a flying Ferris wheel, the chain she swung wrapped around Alessa.
Pulling hard, Gwen flew toward her.
The distance between them closed rapidly. When they were less than a meter apart, they spoke almost simultaneously: "Got you."
Slap!
With a crisp sound, their hands clasped together.
Gwen paused. Alessa smiled grimly, and the hands she had clasped with Gwen suddenly thrust forward, vanishing into Gwen's body.
"Is this possession?"
Gwen asked in surprise, looking at Alessa.
Alessa remained silent, speeding up the possession process.
She could feel Gwen's resistance and needed to hurry.
But just then, she heard Gwen speak, her voice sounding like a command.
"Look into my eyes!"
She subconsciously looked up.
A swirling vortex of fire.
Her body stiffened. Her hands were ejected from Gwen's body. The agony of her soul being incinerated by the flames made her entire body tremble.
