Chapter 40 - Seeing my Mother after a Long Time

'I didn't train to fight someone like of her.'

Lucien's thoughts were brutal yet true. In his mind, he recalls what Shinji requested of him.

"Lilachan asked me to kill a stage 4 profound beast for her, but as a good friend, I didn't do it, because it's best for you to kill it than me."

Now, that is something he is elated to fight. And, if he dies while fighting, then that means he is just weak. He needs to be strong in order to fight what is ahead of him!

That being said, Lucien isn't going to let Tsukino go. If she wants a fight, then he is going to give her one. But it's going to cost her something in return. At this point, he scarcely does things for free.

Turning around, he takes his hammer from his back only to drop it to the ground, leaving Tsukino dazed, her gray eyes blinking numerous times.

'Is he looking down on me?'

The moment her thoughts finished, Lucien was in front of her, his fist aiming for her gut. The young man knew better than to hit a girl in the face, doing his best to hold back much as possible.

Bam-!

Tsukino was sent flying back a few meters behind. The pain in her gut was excruciating to the point she coughed up when she clashed to the ground.

Picking herself up, she sneers, "Is that all you got?"

Lucien crosses his arms, mocking her pride. Meanwhile, Tsukino grates her teeth, clenching her kitanas. Making herself appear flashy, she moves toward Lucy in a zigzag manner.

Arriving, she thrusts her left kitana towards Lucien's chest; the other, waiting for him to dodge. Nonetheless, the distance between the two was enough for Lucien to perform a side-kick.

Bam!

"Ahhh!"

Tsukino groaned in pain, flying over to crush with a tree. One could call it lucky she didn't crush to the ground; however, along the way, the girl felt a slight crack in her bones.

Shrugging off the pain, she looks at Lucy again, rushing in his direction without saying a thing. Putting all tricks aside, she prepared herself to go out.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

A rapid assortment of swings and thrusts move toward Lucien whispering in the air. However, the young man dodges them with ease, fueling up Tsukino's motivation.

..after 2 minutes, Tsukino ran out of breath.

Thud!

The girl fell on her knees. She didn't need anyone to tell her she was no match for Lucien. Not only that, but Tsukino could tell he was holding back —mostly because he didn't use his hammer.

'Is this what all my training amounts too? Is this all I can do?'

Before her thoughts could sink her into oblivion, Lucy grabs her left wrist, pulling her over to him. Standing on her two legs, Tsukino finds her head stuck in between Lucien's chest, her right hand touching it.

She was already out of breath, but feeling the muscles hidden underneath his clothes took more of it.

She was so flustered that her thoughts seemed too many for her small head:

'What is he doing?! Does he have an agenda?! Is he going...'

As her head spun around like a carousel, Lucy's gaze lay on the light-blue-birthmark on her left wrist: קדושה—אפס

"Can you read it?"

Tsukino still in her thoughts mutters in reply, "You smell nice."

"It's only so because you stink."

Tsukino felt defeated again.

Her fist clenched up in rage, feeling the edge to punch Lucien. That being said, she knew too well that her attacks were useless on him, and listened to his repeated question.

"I don't," She said, trying to make distance between her and the man who carried the scent of various beautiful flowers.

"Do you want to know? They're the only words I can read."

The birthmark is the only thing his mystic eyes can't zoom; over the years, he was able to decode it's meaning in kanji.

Tsukino nodded.

"Zero Holy."

At the moment of the words, Tsukino felt a throb in her head, inciting her to miss everything.

Unperturbed, she asks, "What did you say?"

Lucien immediately knew she was like everyone else. No matter how he uses the word, everyone would ask him to repeat himself. The word appeared unique to him only.

Taking a deep breath, Lucien ponders his next action. After a few seconds, he was ready.

"This is going to hurt."

"Huh...wha...!!"

Before Tsukino could inquire any further, Lucien channels his Entropy into her birthmark, inciting a scream out of her.

The process itself can kill Tsukino; nevertheless, Lucien doesn't care much, that is her price for challenging him.

As seconds passed, just as he expected, Lucy's vision shifted to a new scenery.

The sky was silver, and the plants were scarlet.

This didn't shock the young man much, as the sight of the modern day cemetery he is in the midst of. Graves upon graves scattered about, as if, the whole world lay in them.

At the end, however, was a throne —he could see so far because of his mystic eyes.

The throne wasn't your regular throne: two horses stood as the armrest, a pink one and light blue one, the seat looked like glass, but flickered like fire; the back like vibrant angel wings with a kaleidoscope of mesmerizing colors.

Time passed: the wind blew; people started to come out of the graves. Their bodies were mutilated showing signs that they had gone through an intense amount of torture.

Time moved again, and the tortured bodies regained back their original state, but unlike living ones, they carried more life.

Soon, a comet fell in the middle —in front of him. There, knelt a man, vermilion skinned and toned, shrouded in a double-breasted suit. His hair, long and coal black, matched his twisted eyes.

Chains of light, lightning and fire circled around his body, piercing his limbs which weren't bleeding.

Loud shrieks came from his mouth which Lucy didn't here; however, Lucien could tell the man carried a lot of resentment toward him.

Time moved again, and there, Akane stood on the throne instead of sitting.

"My son don't give up. You're on the right part, you'll know more in the future. You'll suffer, but not yet. There is a time to begin your journey. Just stay strong for them; they are strong because of you."

Lucy jots back to reality, letting go of Tsukino's hand which had light blue. Turning around, a tear drops from Lucien's left eye.

'After all this time, I see her in an unpleasant vision. Just what is going on? Why do I have to suffer? What crime did I commit?'
