Chapter 189 - Dominion Harmony, Malia

The angelic armies covered every inch of the divine realm; every elemental that dared appear was washed away and eradicated. However, the elementals were not without intelligence. Upon realizing how outmatched they were, they rushed and banded together to mount defenses.

"We must defend.", "The forces of Order breached the lands of chalk.", "Chrunus preserve us!" They were panicking, the Chaos was retreating with each step the legions of silver slashed at them.

While technically equal to Guardians, they were weak to holy; even a single Guardian was an immense danger to a lesser Chaos. However, despite being beings of order, their chaos attacks did no damage.

Order and Chaos should have been weak to each other, yet against Angels, they were the ones receiving a weakness, while the advancing army took normal, non-modified damage.

The chaos elementals screeched as the Archangels and Guardians struck at them. Then Greater Elementals arrived, yet they were quickly extinguished by Principalities and Powers.

The Dominions acted as commanders while Virtues made sure none of the angels suffered major damage. The army was far too well organized and far too optimized against Chaos to be stopped by the forces of Chaos.

Dominion Harmony, now named Malia, stretched her wings as she observed her wing of attack. The Guardians and Archangels were doing very well in their tasks; however, Malia was not happy with the speed at all.

The Father had placed her under Lady Raguel, and thus it was her duty to lead a cleanup after the supreme chaos was slain. Each Dominion was assigned part of the army to lead, and while officially not a competition, the dominions wished to compete in how much Chaos could be cleansed by each host.

Until now, Malia was rather behind even Dominion Unity. She bit her lip as she thought about losing this competition against her siblings. Her brother, Dominion Unity, would make fun of her, and she would not allow it.

Although she was not idiotic enough to act in a way that would endanger the Father's plan, it did not mean she couldn't push the Angels to their limits. She stared at the advancing flood of silver, "If I am to get to the level of sis Ariel, I better win this!"

Then she noticed a change on the horizon. It was a sea of darkness that she had never expected to see. Instead of being repelled by her forces, it advanced. "This is bad..." She winced before she ordered her forces to retreat.

[Forces of Harmony!]

[Retreat! Supreme Chaos Incoming!]

If she were to lose even a single angel, she couldn't have lived with herself, and worst of all, Father would be disappointed in her. It pained her to order a retreat, but even for her, it would take a lot of effort to fight Supreme Chaos.

Not only effort, but she was also likely to lose and die. It would sadden the Father, and that was unacceptable for her. Malia clenched her fists as she contacted her commanding officer, Raguel.

[My Lady!]

[Forces of Harmony are about to be attacked by the Supreme Chaos Elemental; we need support!]

The silence followed; however, instead of Raguel, it was Cedric himself who answered.

[I am aware of their moves.]

[I will summon another Throne to assist you.]

Instantly, she sensed the appearance of another brother. It was the Architect. The birth of the new Supreme Angel lit up the sky.

Malia smirked as her forces retreated, "The Architect should count as my troops, right?" She couldn't help but think of the competition. The moment the Throne was summoned, she lost any sense of worry.

However, just as she sensed the new brother appearing, so did the elemental. It was massive, even compared to other Supreme Chaos-type elementals. It melded with the night sky, and its very form seemed to consume the holy light of the Angels.

Yet its form did not resemble the gas; it seemed to have been made of flesh and many mouths. Its tentacles flailed wildly as they searched for any target they could strike. Its form was difficult to describe in words other than grotesque.

"Disgusting..." Yet despite its immense power and unsettling appearance, Malia would not let fear take her. Instead, even something as powerful as that monstrosity would learn to fear the Father's Legions.

She stretched her hand forward, even if she would not be the one to kill it, she would at least land a first blow. [Enlighten]

The massive circle appeared in the void above the Elemental, and then it was enveloped in the holy light. It screamed, shook, and shattered the land; however, the Angels had already retreated.

"Bye now~" Malia unfurled her wings as she noticed the approach of her brother. "I will enjoy watching you end~". The Chaos elemental launched a massive black hole at her.

She dashed as fast as she could; however, her wing was caught and torn. She twisted her body as she used the pull of the gravity orb to get herself launched to the side instead of taking full damage from the black hole.

She winced in pain as she looked at her torn wing. While it was the shapeshifted form, it was still her body, and thus it hurt. "You will regret taking my wing, you moron!" She shouted at the approaching elemental.

The darkness swirled around it as it slowly cascaded toward her. The elemental, if it could be called that considering its fleshy body, swung its tentacles in the air and launched them toward her at immense speed.

"[Teleport]!" She used her skill to avoid getting hit; however, instead of hitting the ground, the fleshy appendages twisted and chased after her. She utilized [Teleport] to dodge any strike at her.

Then it failed.

<<[Teleport] Cannot be used in anchored space.>>

Instantly, she was struck by the humongous tentacle. She was pushed into the ground and out of her [Shapeshift].

"You?!" Malia screamed at the elemental despite the pain; however, another strike never came.

Instead, the fleshy appendage was cut in a flash of gold and dissolved into dark mist.

"Sister, run. I will handle ... that!" The architect ordered, and Malia obeyed. It was no longer her fight. If she were to protest and stay there, her only achievement would be the first angel to die in the war against Chrunus.

That achievement was not something she wished for. With a smirk, she flew toward her forces.

She would enjoy the show that her brother would put on for them.
