Chapter 104 - The Goblin’s Last Stand Pt. 2

The Green Goblin hovered above the shattered cityscape, his grotesque transformation reaching its peak. His body, already twisted by the Goblin formula, had become even more monstrous—sickly green veins bulging against his cracked, burned armor, his muscles unnaturally swollen from the unstable Oscorp serum pumping through his system. His yellowed eyes gleamed with madness as he loomed over the women standing defiantly below.

His cracked lips curled into a sneer as he growled, "You think this is a game? You don't get it, do you? I'm the monster under your bed."

MJ scoffed, crossing her arms, completely unimpressed. "Please. More like the perv who hides under women's beds. After all you did kidnap the fabulous me."

The group froze for half a second before Wanda snorted, Talia bit her lip, and Gwen exhaled hard through her nose. The Goblin's eye twitched. His whole body shook with rage.

"You insolent little—" He slammed his boots into the glider, propelling himself at the group like a cannonball of pure, unchecked fury.

"Oh no," MJ called out with exaggerated mock panic, "he's coming right for us! I really should've kept my mouth shut—"

Norman was already throwing bombs. Gwen and Natasha dodged left, Wanda and Talia right, but the explosions still shook the street, sending debris flying.

"I will tear you apart!" Norman roared, his voice barely human. His glider swerved mid-air, launching a volley of razor-sharp pumpkin head shaped blades that cut through the darkness like streaking comets.

Talia blasted one out of the air with her gauntlet. Natasha used her batons to deflect another. Gwen swung between two, twisting mid-air as MJ dove behind a flipped car, flipping Norman off the whole way. Wanda simply flicked her wrist, and a ripple of crimson energy disintegrated the rest.

He snarled, his breath ragged, his pupils pinpricks. Desperation curled around his limbs.

"Playtime's over," he rasped.

And then, he pulled out the bomb.

Not just a bomb.

The bomb a big nasty pumpkin sized Jacko Lantern bomb.

The air grew heavy with the energy surging off it. A deep, pulsating green glow vibrated through the pumpkin in his hand, illuminating it's twisted grin. This wasn't a pumpkin bomb. It was something worse.

Talia muttered, "Oh, hell no."

Norman grinned wider. "You little pests don't realize... if I can't win, then I'll make damn sure nobody does!"

Wanda thought that if only Eska was here, she would show Norman what a real bomb was.

And then he threw it.

A heartbeat of silence.

Then—absolute chaos.

The bomb arced through the sky, glowing brighter and brighter, warping the air around it.

"Move!" Gwen launched herself forward, webbing MJ and yanking her out of the way.

Talia activated her Extremis enhanced reflexes and evaded. Natasha cursed under her breath, already flipping back to avoid the blast radius.

But Wanda wasn't moving.

She raised the Chitauri Scepter.

The air screamed around her as her crimson eyes burned with raw chaos energy. A shockwave of power rippled from her stance, swirling around the scepter, then Wanda did something truly ironic she made her chaos energy form around the scepter in the shape of a bat.

Norman's eyes went wide. "No…"

Wanda smirked. "You know, for a genius, you really should've accounted for friendly fire."

She flicked her wrist and 'Smack'

The bomb ripped backward, straight toward him.

Norman's entire face dropped. "I used... one too many bombs."

The world erupted in a cataclysmic explosion of green and red energy.

The shockwave rippled through the city, flipping cars, shattering street lamps, and leaving a crater of pure destruction where his glider once hovered.

The team stood in stunned silence.

Slowly, the smoke began to clear.

There, smoking and broken, his armor half-melted, his body twitching in agony, was Norman Osborn.

Gwen let out a slow breath. "So. That's done."

MJ dusted off her jacket. "Well... that's one way to deal with a pervert."

Wanda just stretched, rolling her shoulders. "Men are exhausting."

Talia cackled. "Honestly, I expected way more from the great Norman Osborn."

Natasha smirked, tossing a baton in the air and catching it. "Men don't usually last that long against us."

Gwen groaned, rubbing her temples. "Oh my God, can we please stop making this weird?"

Wanda side-eyed her. "You're just mad because you're not the one taking me home tonight."

Gwen's entire face turned red.

Talia nearly choked on her laughter.

"Alright," Gwen muttered, rubbing her temples, "I'm taking Osborn home before this conversation kills me."

The city was still burning in places when Gwen landed softly on the balcony of Osborn Manor, dropping Norman's half-conscious form onto the floor. She exhaled, exhausted, ready to get the hell out of there.

Then she turned.

And froze.

Harry Osborn was standing there.

Eyes wide.

Hands trembling.

Staring at her.

At Spider-Woman.

At the person he now believed had killed his father.

She didn't stay to see the look on Harry's face as he fell to his knees beside his father's unconscious body.

She didn't hear the shattered whisper that left his lips.

She killed him.

Spider Woman killed his father.

And just like that, Spider-Man 2 began.
