Chapter 132 - Easy A

The faint glow of dawn crept through the windows of Stark Tower, casting soft shadows across the room where Gwen Stacy lay buried under a mess of tangled blankets and half-finished homework. The buzzing of her phone echoed through the room, but Gwen groaned and buried her face deeper into the pillow, determined to ignore it.

But the buzzing persisted.

With a frustrated sigh, Gwen fumbled for her phone, squinting at the screen as the brightness burned her tired eyes. The university portal notifications flashed across the screen, one after another.

She blinked.

Then blinked again.

Her jaw dropped.

"What the hell…?" Gwen whispered, sitting up so fast she nearly toppled off the bed. Her eyes scanned the screen, her heart racing.

Every. Single. Grade.

Straight A's.

"No way," she muttered, scrolling through the endless list of updated grades. This had to be a mistake. Or a glitch. Or—

The door creaked open, and in walked Wanda Maximoff, looking far too smug for someone who had just woken up. She was holding two steaming mugs of coffee, and that knowing glint in her eye sent alarm bells ringing in Gwen's head.

"Morning, overachiever," Wanda said, handing Gwen a mug. "Sleep well?"

Gwen stared at her phone, then at Wanda. "Wanda… what did you do?"

Wanda took a sip of her coffee, her lips curling into a sly grin. "Oh, nothing much." She paused, just long enough to make Gwen squirm. "I just visited your school last night."

Gwen's eyes widened. "You what?"

Wanda set her coffee down, leaning against the doorframe like she had all the time in the world. "I turned all your professors into mindless zombies who only give out good grades to you."

Gwen's jaw hit the floor. "You're kidding."

Wanda's grin widened. "I mean, they were halfway there already. I just gave them a little… push."

Still processing Wanda's casual confession, Gwen stumbled into the common room where Jean, Storm, Natasha, and Talia were sprawled across the couches, nursing their own cups of coffee and scrolling through their phones.

"Guess who's got straight A's?" Gwen announced, holding up her phone.

The girls looked up, their expressions shifting from curiosity to amusement in seconds.

"Let me guess," Jean said, raising an eyebrow. "Wanda's handiwork?"

Gwen flopped onto the couch with a dramatic sigh. "She mind-controlled my professors last night. I woke up, and boom—academic zombie apocalypse."

The room erupted with laughter.

"You should've let me do it," Jean pouted, crossing her arms. "I'd have added some extra credit. Maybe even a glowing recommendation."

"Honestly," Storm chimed in, twirling a finger in the air, "I could've just zapped them with a little lightning. Nothing says 'A+' like the fear of electrocution."

Talia raised an eyebrow, her voice dry as ever. "Or we could've bribed them with pizza. It works on Peter."

Natasha chuckled, her gaze distant for a moment before she smirked. "If only all schools were this easy."

The room fell silent for a beat at Natasha's words, the weight of her past in the Red Room lingering just beneath the surface. But before anyone could dwell on it, Wanda spoke up.

"Thanks for turning my professors into mindless zombies, Wanda," Gwen said with a grin, trying to lighten the mood. "I mean, they've always been like that, but now they work for me."

The room filled with laughter again, the camaraderie pulling them back into their chaotic, comfortable rhythm.

Just as the laughter began to die down, the door swung open, and Peter Parker strolled in, his backpack slung over one shoulder and an exaggerated grin plastered on his face.

"Ladies!" he greeted, dropping his bag with a dramatic flair. "What's all the commotion? Did Gwen finally admit she's the coolest person in the room?"

Gwen rolled her eyes. "In your dreams, Parker."

Peter flopped onto the couch next to Gwen, his grin widening. "But seriously, you've got to come back to the lab. Dr. Octavia 'Vee' Octavius is working on something incredible. I'm talking next-level fusion energy."

Gwen raised an eyebrow. "Fusion energy? The kind that could blow up the city if it goes wrong?"

Peter laughed nervously. "Nooo… probably not. But hey, that's why we need your genius." He shot a wink at Wanda's harem. "And, you know, bring your hot friends. For moral support."

The girls groaned collectively, but Wanda smirked, exchanging a glance with Talia.

"Let's see what kind of chaos New York has in store for us this time," Wanda murmured.

As the day wound down, Gwen found herself on the balcony with Wanda, the city's lights shimmering below like a sea of stars. The cool breeze ruffled their hair, and for a moment, the chaos of the world felt far away.

"You know," Gwen said softly, her voice barely above a whisper, "it feels weird. Cheating my way through school when I've worked so hard to get here."

Wanda wrapped an arm around Gwen's shoulders, pulling her close. "It's not cheating if you're capable of earning it. Sometimes, we all need a little… push."

Gwen chuckled, leaning into Wanda's warmth. "Yeah, but I'd rather push myself next time."

Wanda pressed a soft kiss to Gwen's temple. "Deal."

They sat in comfortable silence, the weight of the day melting away as they watched the city below.

The next morning, Gwen woke up feeling lighter, the stress of her academic struggles fading into the background. She had a new mission now—one that involved more than just grades and professors.

As she prepared for the day ahead, Gwen glanced at her phone, a smile tugging at her lips. She had a feeling that Dr. Octavia "Vee" Octavius was going to bring a whole new level of chaos into their lives.

And honestly?

She couldn't wait.
