Chapter 35 - Her Head Pressed To His Chest

"Glass will always break..."

When Eira woke up, she was alone in a dark room, on a large bed she was unfamiliar with. She dragged her feet across the room towards the door and tugged on the handle.

Just as she was about to open the door, a thought crossed her mind. 'Is leaving now the best idea?' She recalled fainting in the king's arms and could only assume that he had brought her to a safer place.

She drew her gaze to her wrists, 'I'm not tied up either, so I can assume this isn't confinement.' Either that, or the king heavily underestimated her escape tactics.

She returned to the bed, and got under the covers, 'It's best to wait and see how things unfold, if I leave, I might just anger the king.' she resolved, her eyes darting across the room.

The only source of light was from the dimly lit fireplace. The windows were locked, something Eira found odd.
