Zephyra's POV
I could feel Astraea's anger burning into me the moment she stepped into Draven's office. Her eyes were sharp, her voice was clipped, and for the first time since I'd met her, I truly thought she might snap at me, and not just in her typical strict sense, but like, in the same way she would snap at a random person that didn't mean anything to her.
I knew that I had pushed her too far, and maybe she was right to be furious, but I wasn't going to break the promise I had made to Therion. Not even for her, despite how guilty i felt about keeping something from her.
I shouldn't have been the one holding secrets about her brother. That much I knew. It wasn't my place to know anything about the underworld or more demon business, but when Therion looked at me, appearing after what I witnessed in the mirror, and when he told me the truth about what was happening to him, something inside me knew I couldn't betray him.
