Astraea's POV
Fury burned so deep in me I thought I might break the walls of the room apart. My chest felt tight, my throat raw, and all I wanted was to scream. Therion had shown himself to Zephyra. To her of all people, but to me, to his own sister, and his blood, he was silent. He ignored every summon, every call, and every desperate pull I sent toward him.
And Zephyra. Sweet, and stubborn Zephyra. She looked me in the eyes and refused to tell me what she saw in that cursed mirror, and also refused to tell me what he told her. As if she had the right to keep something so important from me. As if I wasn't the one who had lived my whole life at his side, watching him do everything he could to protect me even after the unending messes I created.
It felt like the whole world was against me. Everyone kept telling me to expect the worst, but no one told me what the worst even was. No one was giving me a chance to stop whatever this terrible thing that was about to happen was.
