Phillip regretted the words that came out of his mouth as soon as he heard them. It was in the heat of the moment, they slipped out seeing as Taryn was being insensible.
Taryn felt the anger withing her boil up and overflow. Before she could even give it a thought, she took a step forward and threw a dirty slap on Phillip's face. The hit resounded across the silent bedroom and the mark of her fingers lingered on the right side of his face.
Phillip knew he deserved it. He had expected it as soon as he heard what he had said. All the years they had been together, he knew it was calling up the fury of hell to mention that.
"How dare you!" she screamed at him. "How dare you say those words at me, Phillip?!".
