Chapter 124 - Closed rooms, open hearts

In Kira's Room

Eiden closed the door with his toe. Kira was still clinging to his neck, legs around his waist, nightie pulled up dangerously high.

— Kira… we've arrived. I'll put you down, okay?

He gently placed her on the bed. She fell limply, her hair disheveled, a blissful smile on her lips.

— Thanks for the ride, handsome…

Eiden tried to back away. Fatal error. Kira's arms closed like handcuffs.

- Hey ! Wait! Where are you going like this?

— Sleep on the floor. There's a cover—

— No! she cried, pulling him sharply.

Eiden rolled over on the bed, half on top of her. She took the opportunity to roll and find herself astride.

— Kira, you're drunk…

"Shhh," she whispered before kissing him violently.

Her lips tasted like blood ruby. Eiden tried to gently push her away…but she bit his lower lip.

— Ouch! Kira!

"You move more," she ordered, starting to pepper his neck with wet kisses and noisy little hickeys.

Smack. Smack. Smack.

— Kira… stop… tomorrow you're going to kill me…

— Tomorrow I'll make you pancakes, I'll mark you right away. You're mine tonight, handsome.

— I... I'm not a playground!

She burst out laughing, hugged him tighter, rubbed her nose against his.

— You're so cute when you panic… Stay. Please. Just… just sleeping together. I promise I won't do any more stupid things... (she burped softly) ...well maybe a little.

Eiden capitulated, overcome by the laughter and the heat of his body.

- Okay... but you keep your nightie on, I keep my boxers on, and we sleep. Understood ?

— understood, she sighed, collapsing on his chest like a rag doll. Good night, my Eiden…

Thirty seconds later, she was already snoring, one arm possessively across her stomach.

In Asher's Room

Asher closed the door to his own room, his heart still pounding from the emotional elevator. He had managed to carry Miria to her own room, tucked her in, even resisted the urge to stroke her hair. Mission accomplished.

He turned around to take off his t-shirt.

Two slender arms grabbed him from behind and hugged him.

— Hiuuuut…

He jumped so hard that he almost hit the wall.

—Miria?! But I left you in your room two minutes ago!

She pressed her nose into his back and inhaled sharply.

— I followed your scent... you smell so good... like the forest and... and cake...

— Miria, seriously, go back—

— No! she moaned, tightening the embrace. I want to sleep with soooo…

- You're completely drunk.

— Yessssssss… so what? You drank too!

— I had two glasses, you downed half a bottle of ruby all by yourself.

She gave a little pout against his back.

— You… you don't love me…

—Miria...

— Say it. Say I'm not good enough for you...

His voice broke, tears filled his eyes. Asher felt his heart split in two. He turned around slowly, took her face in his hands.

— Listen to me carefully, okay? You're too good for me. Too pretty, too nice, too… everything. It's me who doesn't deserve you.

She looked at him, her eyes wide, then a huge, stupid smile lit up her face.

- Really ?

- Really.

She staggered, her eyelids heavy, and literally collapsed in his arms. Asher barely caught her.

— And shit...

He carried her to the bed, laid her down delicately, pulled the duvet up to her chin. She looked so peaceful, so fragile. He stood there for a second, watching her sleep, then walked over to the couch.

He lay down, closed his eyes.

Five seconds later: a weight on him.

He turned on the light, almost screaming.

Miria was lying on top of him, on the couch, spooning perfectly.

— But how do you do that?!

— Shhhh… she purred, snuggling up. You're hot... I want to stay there...

— Miria… the bed is right next to it!

- No... come into bed with me... please... I swear I'm doing nothing wrong... just sleeping... I swear I swear...

She raised her hand like a child, almost hitting her eye.

Asher stood there, his heart in his mouth, between the urge to laugh, cry and scream.

—…Okay. Bed. Right away.

He got up, took her in his arms (she clung like a happy koala), brought her back to the mattress. This time he lay down next to her, at a good distance.

Miria, of course, immediately crawled up to press herself even closer, her body soft and burning against his. Asher felt something very soft and very bare against his back. He froze.

— Um… Miria?

— Hmm?

- Why... why do I feel your... your breasts against my back?

She burst out laughing stupidly, her voice slurred.

— Because I took off my pajamas... too hot... and it's better for cuddling...

Asher turned scarlet.

—Miria! Get dressed right away!

— No... And you better not move... otherwise I'll find you...

Asher closed his eyes, torn between embarrassment and excitement.

— Heaven came to my aid.
