Logan's POV
Rowan hasn't really spoken to me since he slapped me.
He's been avoiding me in a very horrible and obvious way. He never outright disappears, but he somehow always manages to be where I'm not. He speaks more to Caleb, Tristche, and the Elders now. He'll convene with them in the war room without so much as a text to let me know a meeting is happening.
He's left me to train our shoddy army and to my so-called "investigation," and I've been left with my thoughts.
Neither of us have talked about what's to come again.
After this game, we've got one more day until the full moon. One more day until Rowan is officially robed as Alpha-Chief of Lykandor. It'll happen under the full moon and those of us left will eat, drink and be merry like our families, friends and neighbours haven't disappeared. Then, when the moon turns a new face to us, the Eastern elections will hold and Rowan will lose.
We're out of time. And I feel like I'm the only one who can feel it.
