"She does not want to see you, Tesarius."
The words hit him like a bucket of cold water had been dropped on him, so much to the point even Amalia wondered why he was so surprised. While she knew she had lied, she could not understand why Tesarius did not expect something like this from Aurora, after the way he left Rovamer without seeing her in her sick bed, or not showing up to greet her when she arrived. It was natural for Aurora to distance herself from him or give him the cold shoulder, only that the truth was she wasn't, but he didn't need to know that. All he needs to know is what Amalia tells him.
So Amalia too was glad how things were turning out, it only meant things were working on her favor. Taking a single step forward, she threaded her words carefully, making sure she didn't tick him off. "And… I think it is better this way."
