Chapter 67 - Chapter 67 - Treasure Spell

The hike through the jungle wasn't as fun as Felix hoped it could have been. Besides some insects they didn't find many animals nor any interesting encounters. The most interesting thing was a Peruvian Salamander.

This little creature is native to Peru and was rated XXX due to the ability to generate a great amount of heat. Other than this the only other noteworthy thing is the purple skin which the three managed to stumble upon by accident.

Finally, after a few days of walking, they managed to come upon a temple that appeared worn down by time and vines. There are a few chunks missing in the rocks, but other than this the temple seemed in decent condition from their sight. What the inside held though or looked, it was unknown.

"Is the The Chachapoyan Fertility Idol we are after inside?" John asked.

"Should be. It's probably underground or requires finding a secret entrance though." Felix replied.

"Why don't we just use magic?" Angel asked.

"Because it's not made nor set by ancient wizards or witches. So unless necessary and not to take the fun out of it. We should try to get this treasure without using magic if we can." Felix explained.

"You've been saying that since we got here, but all that really happened is I became a happy meal for various bugs." Angel huffed.

"She does have a point." John nodded.

"Fine if we don't find it by the end of the day, we will use magic tomorrow for it alright?" Felix finally gave in.

Felix watched his two friends nod in agreement to this arrangement. He could only huff as this certainly took a bit of fun out of trying to discover the entrance. In the end, he didn't mind though since treasure hunting was more about having fun with his friends and seeing new things. That is the real treasure to him, but he didn't plan to tell them that.

"Don't just stand there, Felix. This is your idea so you better help in the search.." John called out.

--

In the end, they couldn't find the entrance and the inside of the temple either caved in or buried in countless heaps of dirt. Felix didn't really understand how the outside appeared fine but the inside was filled with loose dirt and rocks. In the end he just figured they used it as a building support when building the temple and just dug tunnels that collapsed due to time.

So after sitting up the tents and resting for the night. Felix after being woken up by Angel who kicked John out and decided to try and use him as a pillow. He let out a small yawn after getting ready for the day once more.

"Alright, time for magic."

Picking up his wand, Felix gave it a couple swirls in the air. Then a small thin line seemed to spread out around them before golden dots began to appear on and around the ruins underground.

"What is this spell?" Angel asked excitedly.

"I call it the treasure spell. If I deem something as treasure, it will appear as these golden dots we now see. The dots will fade in a couple minutes, but I mainly looked for things that were either handcrafted and over one hundred years old, held gems or gold." Felix said.

"Teach me, teach me." Angel said excitedly.

"Alright, but after we dig out these treasures first. You two do know the digging spells right?" Felix asked.

"Yeah, not that hard." John nodded as he went off.

The digging spells he talked about weren't the normal spells that were taught in Hogwarts. Instead these spells were a bit more specialized otherwise using the spell taught in Hogwarts could damage or destroy the treasure or artifact.

So quickly moving, the three began to dig up the treasure that the spell showed. These things were mainly jars with a couple hair pins. Truthfully not really worth digging up, but with a bit of magic, Felix managed to repair them a great deal. So he deposits them into his suitcase as a collectible item. What to do with them, he doesn't know but maybe in the future he might have an idea.

"Teach me." Angel asked when the spell ended.

"Ok." Felix nodded.

Then he went on to explain how to use the spell effectively. It took Angel a couple tries to get the spell down. While it took one try to use the spell, but Angel didn't really specify the kind she wanted. So the ground lit up gold far more than when he cast it.

However, thanks to Angel's actions, John ended up finding a hidden entrance they missed yesterday. It was understandable since it was covered in bushes and a large rock covering eighty percent of the entrance.

"Well, let's go get the idol." Felix said as he used his wand to move the rock.

"Yeah." John nodded just as excited.
