In a room, Mark and Jenna are talking with Olivia leaning against the wall with her arms folded.
Jenna: You should've seen it, Mark....actually, I'm glad you didn't....it was horrible..
Mark: What are we going to do? Catherine's locked up with Desipich...
Jenna: I don't know...Shawn's a Captain now...maybe he can-
Shawn enters the room.
Shawn: I need your help.
Meanwhile, in the cell, Kyle's wound continues to bleed while Catherine starts to feel weak.
Catherine: Shit...this was not on my daily schedule...
Kyle: hey...Catherine...you're going to be okay...
Catherine: No...if we manage to get out, you'll make it...you're stronger than I am....
Kyle: What was in that message you told Shawn about?
Catherine: It was a message from Burton....the night they captured him, I visited him in his cell and he handed me that hard drive....who'd know I'd get recruited to the Prime Kronos Facility after you'd shown up....
Catherine coughs.
Catherine:...do you think your friends made it?
Kyle: They're strong....James....Billy...Sarah...they're all strong...
Catherine: He cut you deep?
Kyle nods.
Catherine: You're going to need a doctor...
Kyle: I told you I'm fine...you need medical attention more than me...
Kyle turns to the Zeus Corps Guard.
Kyle: Hey! Hey! She's bleeding out fast! She needs a doctor!
Zeus Corps Guard: Shut up!
Kyle: She needs a fucking doctor, you dumb-shit! She's going to die!
The Zeus Cops Guard pulls out his stun stick, before threatening Kyle.
Zeus Corps Guard: I don't give two fucks if she bleeds on the carpet. Now be quiet!
Kyle: Fuckin dick.
Zeus Corps Guard: What?
Kyle: You heard me, bitch.
The Zeus Corps Guard presses the red button, electrocuting Kyle again, before the second Zeus Corps Guard stops him.
Zeus Corps Guard: Hey...ease up...you kill him and Ryder will have our heads.
Zeus Corps Guard: He started it.
Kyle: Your mom started it last night.
Catherine: Kyle, stop!
Zeus Corps Guard: You shut up!
Suddenly, Shawn and Jenna walk into the cell. The Zeus Corps Guard clears his throat.
Zeus Corps Guard: Captain Burton. What can we do?
Shawn: Commander Barnes wants these two moved to Cell B.
Zeus Corps Guard: Uh....sir...
Shawn: Is there a problem?
Zeus Corps Guard: It's just we didn't receive any notification earlier. We're going to need the authentication code.
Shawn: Sure....the authentication code is; F-U-C-K K-R-O-N-O-S.
Zeus Corps Guard: Uh...wait...sir, did you just spell-
Suddenly, Shawn punches the Zeus Corps in the face, before Jenna elbows the second Zeus Corps Guard. Shawn tosses the Zeus Corps Guard into the floor while Jenna punches second Zeus Corps Guard into the ground, before curb stomping him, killing him. Shawn then knees the first Zeus Corps Guard before smashing the back of his head into the floor, killing him. Shawn stands up, staring at Kyle, before ripping off his Zeus Corps logo from his shoulder pad. Kyle laughs.
Kyle: Boy, fuckin took you long enough....
Jenna: Mark! Olivia!
Mark and Olivia walk into the room, before Olivia notices the dead corpses.
Olivia: Jesus...
Shawn: C'mon, Olivia! We don't have long!
Mark releases Catherine from her restraints while Jenna carries her, before Shawn releases Kyle, who falls to his knees. Olivia approaches Kyle, carrying a bottle of spray.
Olivia: Mr. Desipich....I'm going to need you to lift your shirt up where the wound is.
Kyle: What? Why?
Olivia: I have something that'll suppress your bleeding temporarily.
Shawn: Trust me, dude...this shit helps.....
Kyle: All right...
Kyle lifts his lower shirt as Olivia sprays a regenerative gel on his abdomen, healing his wound.
Kyle: What did you do?
Olivia: I kept your wound from bleeding. This gel heals your wound, but only for a few minutes.
Shawn: I going to need an extra hand here to get you out....why didn't you tell me about my father? You knew this whole time. The whole time I was in town? Would've saved us a whole lot of trouble.
Kyle: Had you not lied about still being with these assholes, I would've told you.....look, I don't know how long this regenerative shit's going to last and we need to get her out of here!
Jenna: Cathy....can you walk, love? Olivia?
Olivia inspects Catherine's gunshot.
Olivia: Fuck! There's no clear exit and this wound needs proper treatment.
Catherine: No....Stop Ryder....I'm dead...
Shawn: Shut up. We're getting you both out of here! Mark! You scout ahead!
Mark looks on and checks for Zeus Corps Guards.
Mark: We're good.
Shawn: Okay...stay quiet and follow me.
Shawn and Kyle lead Jenna, Mark, a wounded Catherine and Olivia through the bisection hall. Shawn approaches a door and bangs on it.
Zeus Corps Soldier: Hang on!
As Shawn hears footsteps approaching, Shawn kicks the door open, before grabbing and throwing the soldier across the desk. Shawn then uppercuts the soldier, before throwing him against the wall and kicking his face in. Shawn then grabs the guard's sidearm.
Shawn: Kyle!
Kyle walks to Shawn, who hands Kyle a pistol. Shawn then grabs an assault rifle leaning against the wall.
Shawn: You good for this?
Kyle: Of course....
Kyle stands up and groans as Mark attempts to tend to him.
Mark: You good, man?
Kyle: I'm fine...
Shawn uses the dead soldier's cardkey to enter the next room, where there is an elevator.
Shawn: Olivia, you go back to your office.
Olivia: What?
Shawn: We need someone on the inside we trust...
Kyle: He's right....six of us won't be getting out if we don't lighten the weight...no offence...
Olivia hesitates, but nods in understanding.
Olivia: Okay.....good luck..
Olivia walks back to her office as Kyle, Shawn, Mark and Jenna, who carries Catherine, approach the elevator.
Shawn: Looks like this elevator goes to the surface.
Shawn turns to Jenna.
Shawn: Get her in....Shawn turns to Kyle.
Shawn: Kyle, get on that console and get the door open. Move!
Kyle: I'm movin, man! You're not the one who just took a big ass blade to your gut!
Kyle walks to the console and presses a button that opens the door. Suddenly, two soldiers walk into the room, before aiming their assault rifles at Kyle.
Zeus Corps Soldier: Hey! What the hell is going on here?!
Kyle: Oh, shit.
Shawn: Um...this woman needs medical attention and I asked these two to help.
Zeus Corps Soldier: Why is that prisoner on the console?
Shawn: Because I told him to help.
Shawn turns to Kyle.
Shawn: Hurry it up, prisoner!
Zeus Corps Soldier: wait...why is he armed?
Shawn: I also asked him to carry my sidearm for me...that's unloaded of course.
One of the soldier's notice the dead soldier's feet in the next room.
Shawn: Oh, yeah...him...he was like that when we got here...just passed out drunk.
Zeus Corps Soldier: Okay, we're going to have to notify Administrator Ryder about this...
Shawn: No, no, no....there's authorization for this...
Zeus Corps Soldier: Then we're going to need the authentication code...
Shawn: Sure...the authentication code is; F-U-
Suddenly, the two soldiers are shot dead by Kyle.
Kyle: Oh, I'm sorry. Were you finished?
Shawn: Really?
Suddenly, the surface access elevator shuts, separating Kyle and Shawn from Jenna, Mark and Catherine as the alarm is sounded.
Shawn: Great...now we're going to have the whole fucking place on our ass!
Kyle: Yeah, I didn't think about that!
Jenna: What the hell happened?
Shawn: Door's locked.
Zeus Corps Soldier Over Intercom: Alert! Alert! Just coming through! Prisoners in Cell A have escaped! Prisoners are armed and dangerous! Approach with extreme caution!
Shawn: Get back!
Shawn attempts to smash the glass with the butt of his assault rifle, but with no success.
Shawn: Shit! Guys! Try to get topside! We'll find another way!
The elevator takes Mark, Jenna and the wounded Catherine up while Kyle and Shawn fight through the lower levels in a gunfight with Zeus Corps Soldiers. Kyle and Shawn travel up the stairs.
Shawn: If I know Jenna, she'll have secured a ride for evacuation.
Kyle: You trust those two? and Olivia?
Shawn: Hey, man...you wouldn't even be out here with a gun if I didn't convince them to help...
Kyle: Touche....
Kyle and Shawn move across a room with a giant map.
Kyle: Shawn....look at this...it's a map of the whole United States...what's left of it...why? What's Ryder planning?
Shawn: I don't know, but look...
Shawn points to a circle around the state of Union City.
Shawn: His target's Union City in Chicago.
Kyle looks out the window to spot a giant cannon planted to the ground outside.
Kyle: Shawn....
Shawn walks up to the window.
Shawn: What the hell is that?!
Kyle: I don't know...but whatever it is...it's not good.
Kyle and Shawn continue moving and come across a scientist, who is sitting at his desk.
Kronos Scientist: Sergeant Burton, what's this prisoner-?
Shawn: Stay calm and shut up!
Jenna talks through Shawn's earpiece.
Jenna: Shawn! Kyle! Are you there? We've got a problem tracking your position.
Shawn: Jenna? Jenna, do you hear me? Shit. Come on.
Kyle and Shawn walk up to a door that is locked as he tries to bypass it with the keycard.
Shawn: Damn...we'll have to-
Suddenly, the two are scanned of infection. After the scan, the door opens, leading to a room where many infected bodies are bagged up and hanging from the ceiling.
Kyle: Jesus Christ.
Shawn: So this is Ryder's vision for the future.....he's insane...I'll be damned if I lay down and die for this...We have to keep moving.
Kyle and Shawn continue moving, entering a room where many scientists are seen working. One of the scientists that Kyle had previously struck and is missing teeth gives a worried look.
Kyle: Hey, I remember you...you know what to do.
Sanchez: Yes...yes...Mr. Desipich...
Sanchez turns to the other Kronos scientists.
Sanchez: Okay, everyone. Get on the ground. Nice and slow. Do what this man says or you'll lose a few teeth. Trust me. I know.
Kyle: Atta boy.
The Kronos Scientists lay down on their bellies with their hands on their head as Shawn and Kyle enter a room where a surgeon is seen hiding. The surgeon then pulls out a gun.
Chen: Stay back! I'll shoot!
Kyle walks up to the Surgeon and smacks away the gun, before grabbing the Surgeon by the neck and pinning him to the table.
Shawn: What's Ryder planning?!
The Surgeon doesn't answer as Kyle smacks him.
Kyle: Answer him!
Chen: I don't know...
Kyle: Uh-huh....
Kyle turns to Shawn.
Kyle: Hey, Shawn, you remember that board game where if you pinch a certain something in the dummies body, it's nose beeps?
Shawn: You talking about "Operation"? Dude, we were kids.
Kyle: I know....we're going to play the adult version. Hand me those power tools.
Shawn laughs.
Shawn: With pleasure.
Chen: No! Wait! What are you going to do?! What are you going to do?!
Kyle: We're going to play "Operation" of course!
Chen: No! No! I don't fucking know anything!
Shawn hands Kyle a bone saw as he turns it on, before Kyle presses the bone saw against the surgeons' groin.
Kyle: I wonder will your nose glow red and beep if I cut your balls off! Let's try it out!
Chen: No! No! Please! Don't! Please!
Shawn: You going to talk, because I'm not the patient one! I'll ask you one more time; what's Ryder planning?!
Chen: He's building a massive weapon that harvests radioactive, nuclear and pulse energy! I swear to god that's all I know!
Kyle turns off the bone saw, before knocking the Surgeon out with a punch. Suddenly, Zeus Corps Soldier enter the room as Kyle and Shawn escape into the hatch, only to enter a dark environment.
Kyle: Damn it!
Shawn: Where the hell are we?
Kyle: I don't know. I can't see a damn thing.
Suddenly, a mechanical noise is heard.
Shawn: That doesn't sound good.
Suddenly, the lights turn on, revealing that Kyle and Shawn are in the furnace as a corpse ahead of the is burned.
Kyle: Shit!
Shawn: Not good!
Kyle: We need to get the fuck out of here! If I have one fear, it's being barbequed alive!
Shawn: Look! A vent! Underneath this cart! Help me push!
Kyle and Shawn quickly push the cart of the way, before Shawn opens the vent and the two manage to crawl underneath the furnace. Shawn gets out first as Kyle crawls to Shawn. A gas pipe bursts, creating a fire, but Shawn grabs Kyle out from under the burning furnace.
Kyle: Thanks for that....
Shawn: You owe me two.
Kyle: When did we agree to two?
Shawn: I'm breaking you out, aren't I?
Kyle: Right...
Kyle and Shawn continue as Kyle groans and leans to the side.
Kyle: Damn....I think this gel is starting to wear off....I'm feeling weak again.
Shawn: Hey. Hey! Kyle! Stay with me, man.
Shawn taps Kyle's cheek multiple times.
Shawn: C'mon, man...we're almost out.
Jenna talks through Shawn's earpiece.
Jenna: Shawn, it's Jenna. I've secured a my Sphinx for extraction. RV at the east wall.
Shawn: Good job. We're on our way.
Jenna: Hurry. Catherine's not doing well.
Kyle and Shawn fight their way through the courtyard where Shawn spots a Sphinx Helicopter.
Kyle: That copter! That's our ride!
Kyle and Shawn fight their way to the Sphinx Helicopter, where Shawn shoots the pilot dead, before entering the seat and taking the copter into the air. Kyle gets on the mini-gun, before gunning down many Zeus Corps Soldiers. Suddenly, a Zeus Corps Soldier in Titan Armor enters the gunfight.
Kyle: oh, shit.
The Titan Soldier sprints and jumps at the Sphinx Aircraft, latching onto the front and breaking the glass, attempting to grab Shawn and Kyle, leading to the Sphinx to crash in the storage building. Meanwhile, in the tower, Ryder walks up to Barnes.
Ryder: Commander Barnes. What's going on? Is it Kyle?
Barnes: Yes, and Catherine...
Ryder: How?
Barnes: He had help....from Burton...
Ryder: What? How?
Barnes: I don't know...but either way, Shawn's now an enemy of Kronos....along with Hawkins and Schafer...
Ryder: Damn shame...
Ryder turns to Brock.
Ryder: Brock, assemble your men....I want Kyle and Shawn alive...get down the Titan armory.
Brock: Yes, sir....
Brock leaves the room while Skull begins to mock Ryder.
Skull: How loyal are your boys, Barnes?
Barnes: You're a guest here, Skull. I won't have you questioning my methods.
Skull: I'm just saying; they're obviously good at committing treason.
Barnes: My men are trained unlike your dogs. They have discipline.
Skull scoffs.
Skull: Don't make me laugh.
In the storage room, the wreckage of the crashed Sphinx, Shawn recovers as he helps Kyle onto his feet.
Shawn: on your feet.
Suddenly, the Titan Soldier steps out, before dying to his wounds.
Kyle: Huh...
Outside the storage area, multiple Zeus Corps Soldiers begin to surround the area as a drone with a microphone is present. Ryder speaks over the drone.
Ryder: Shawn....oh, how disappointed I am in you. You tried to fight to save your friend...you two are basically like brothers....that's good...I envy you for your bravery and loyalty to Kyle...but unfortunately, neither you or him will be getting out. Surrender and both of you will be spared. If you don't, well, it's out of my hands....make the choice your father couldn't, son...don't be like him...what do you say?
After a few tense moments, Kyle, wearing the Titan armor, crashes through the wall and jumps down, causing most of the Zeus Corps Soldiers to back away.
Shawn: I say fuck you, Ryder!
Shawn jumps down while Kyle begins to fight through the construction area.
Kyle: Shawn! Stay behind me!
Shawn takes cover behind Kyle in his Titan armor.
Shawn: There's the exit! We're almost out!
Just as they reach the exit, Brock, in his Titan armor, jumps down, equipped with his shield and axe.
Brock: You going somewhere, cupcake?....why don't you show me what you can do with that armor, boy?
Kyle: Shawn...you get that gate open. I got this.
Shawn runs to the gate, attempting to open the exit, before Kyle disarms his mini-gun and equips the Titan's axe and shield.
Kyle: Brock. The Lieutenant....you still Barnes' lap dog?
Brock: if I recall, you only had little training in these things.....
Kyle: Well, you did train me how to use this armor.
Brock: Let's dance, sweetheart.
Kyle: Yeah...let's.
Brock advances at Kyle, who uses the Titan shield to block Brock's attack, before smacking Brock away with the shield and sideswiping him with the axe. Kyle and Brock duel for a moment with their axes, before Brock speaks.
Brock: You know what; why don't we do this the old fashion way? Fight like men.
Brock tosses the axe and shield away, before Kyle does the same, but groans.
Brock: Whoa, you feelin good, son? You're not lookin too hot.
Kyle: Yeah, well, you're still lookin like you stole your mama's dress.
Brock scoffs before he charges at Kyle, who blocks the first strike, but is punched the second attack. Kyle backhands Brock, before punching him in the abdomen of his Titan armor. Brock then attempts to punch Kyle, who dodges and punches Brock in the face. Brock then kicks Kyle in the leg, before grabbing him by the throat and slamming him into the ground. Brock then punches Kyle, before equipping his blade. Brock then attempts to slash Kyle, who blocks the attacks, eventually resulting in the blade breaking in half. Kyle then dodges and attack, before kicking Brock off. Kyle then attempts to ram into Brock, who rams into Kyle, knocking him into an electric grid. Brock attempts to punch Kyle, but he dodges and head butts Brock, who blocks an attack, before punching and kneeing Kyle, tossing him across the room. Kyle recovers as Brock walks towards Kyle. Shawn continues to try and bypass the exit gate computer.
Brock: surely, you can do better than that!
Shawn: C'mon, Kyle! Fuck him up!
Brock: After I'm done with him, Burton, you're next, boy!
Kyle attempts to attack, but Brock kicks Kyle across the room. Brock attempts to backhand Kyle, but Kyle blocks the attack and punches Brock. Kyle then attempts to backhand Brock, who dodges and slams Kyle into the floor. Brock then attempts to stomp Kyle, who dodges and backhands Brock, who grabs Kyle and tosses him against the floor. Kyle then attempts to gather up his strength.
Brock: Get up, Desipich...the legend. The legend I hear so fuckin much about! Get up, boy! Get up! You ain't done. You got strength in you, son! I can see that!
Kyle attempts to attack, but Brock maneuvers and tosses Kyle again.
Brock: Sloppy, son. Try again, boy. Surely Barnes taught you something.
Kyle attempts to attack again, but Brock maneuvers again and slams Kyle into the wall. Knowing his attacks are fruitless, Kyle notices a pole.
Brock: C'mon...find a different strategy.
Kyle punches Brock in the groin, before grabbing the pipe and impaling him through the ribcage, pinning Brock to the wall. Kyle rips off Brock's helmet as Brock appears beaten and bloodied.
Brock: Nice strategy, son....you're thinking like a soldier!
Kyle: Shut the fuck up!
Kyle begins to pummel Brock, who suddenly activates his suit's self-destruction. Brock coughs up blood.
Brock: I ain't going to hell alone, son.
Kyle: Shawn!
Shawn finally bypasses the exit's computer, before sprinting to Shawn, tackling him through the opening gate as Brock's suit self-destructs, killing Brock in the explosion and knocking Kyle and Shawn out of the exit. Kyle's Titan suit is disabled, forcing an automatic ejection from the suit. Kyle sighs.
Kyle: That was fun!
Suddenly, a Zeus Corps Sphinx Aircraft touches down with Jenna piloting Shawn waves at it while Kyle stands up.
Jenna: Get in!
Shawn and Kyle jump into the Sphinx aircraft as it takes off while the Zeus Corps Soldiers shoot at the escaping aircraft. Meanwhile in the Tower, Barnes approaches Ryder.
Ryder: Well?
Barnes: Brock is dead. They got away.
Ryder: Fuck...
Barnes: But on my way back here, I was digging through Dr. Ramirez' office....looks like the good ol general managed to send a message to his son from beyond the grave...
Ryder scoffs.
Ryder: William...you slick son of a bitch.
Barnes: Jason, with Kyle gone, there's no doubt he'll head straight back to Midtown Manhattan. Should we consider changing targets to where he's headed?
Ryder: No...no...first...I want Kyle to see the destruction that will be coming to his city and his friends.
Barnes: And Shawn?
Ryder: He's made his choice.....he'll die with them.
