Lu Jinchen stormed into the Lu Mansion like a mad bull. His footsteps echoed loudly, his voice thundering through the grand hall.
"Yuqing! Yuqing!" he called, desperate, his voice raw.
But only silence answered him. Housekeeper Xu, rushed out from the corner, his face pale with fear. "M-Master!"
"Where's my wife?!" Lu Jinchen snapped, his eyes blazing, his chest heaving. He didn't wait for an answer. His legs carried him straight toward the bedroom, his voice still calling her name.
"Yuqing! Yuqing!"
Sweat dripped down his forehead with cold sweat soaking his back. His heart pounded with panic as he shoved the bedroom door open. "Yuqing!"
The room was silent, too silent. His eyes darted around, reddened with hope— praying—she would be there, sitting on the bed, standing by the window, anywhere. But what he saw instead froze his blood.
The room was empty. Completely empty.
Her things were gone.
