Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: You're Not a Pretty Girl?!

Late at night, moonlight streamed through the small wooden cabin's window, quietly illuminating Ryn's and Kiana's faces. Ryn lay on the bed with an ice pack on his head, while Kiana, drooling, was sprawled across his chest, hugging him tightly.

Ryn's head was spinning, and something was pressing on his chest, making it a little tight and difficult to breathe. In his hazy state, Ryn felt like he was about to die, his life already flashing before his eyes.

Ryn was born into an ordinary middle-class family. His parents were harmonious and loving, doting on him. If he did something wrong, he'd get a spanking; if he did something right, he'd get praise. As a child, after getting into trouble once, his mother punished him by making him read "JAXA: From Beginner to Quitter," which sparked a strong interest in becoming a bald programmer. His hobbies were making games, watching anime, and being immersed in the 2D world. He was a humble student, slightly ostracized by his classmates for his severe case of eighth-grade syndrome.

That day, the voice from the Stigmata made Ryn feel that destiny had finally come for him. He was going to travel to another world, meet beautiful girls, travel together, and defeat the great demon king to become the world's savior.

But reality gave Ryn a hard slap. The good news: he had traveled to another world. The bad news: there were no beautiful girls, no great demon king, only the indescribably powerful and invincible Honkai, and Ryn, who had fainted from the cold by a tree.

[You're awake. You're a pretty girl now!]

A voice suddenly rang in Ryn's mind, scaring the life-flashing-before-his-eyes right out of him. Instantly awake, Ryn shot his eyes open and immediately checked if everything was still there down below.

It was. There was just something soft pressing on it. Ryn let out a deep breath, only then realizing he was on a bed, with an unfamiliar white-haired fuzzball lying on top of him. Ryn removed the ice pack from his head, gently arched his back, and quietly observed the beautiful girl in his arms.

The girl's snow-white, flawless hair was scattered across his chest, a small ahoge on top of her head swaying with his every breath. Her white eyebrows matched her hair, complemented by long, slender eyelashes. Her face, with a hint of baby fat, and the slight upward curl of her lips in her sleep, made her look like a little kitten. Sweet and serene, she seemed like the most beautiful treasure on earth under the moonlight, like a moon princess from mythology.

Of course, if the white-haired fuzzball wasn't still drooling, Ryn wouldn't have spared any praise. Although he couldn't make sense of the situation, it seemed this girl in his arms had saved him.

He just didn't know where her parents were, to dare let a young girl sleep in the same bed with an unknown man. Damn it, are they looking down on me! I'm a young man full of vigor!

Novels don't lie. You really do meet beautiful girls when you travel to another world. So, will she be my wife? Hehehe, if it's her, I'm all for it!

As Ryn thought this, he gently moved the snow-white leg that was wedged between his own. Perhaps the movement was a bit too big; the girl's eyelashes fluttered, and she opened her eyes. Her eyes were filled with the daze of someone who had just woken up, her ice-blue pupils reflecting only Ryn's face.

Who could resist a beautiful girl whose eyes are filled with only you? Ryn's heart began to beat violently. Although he had never been in love, at that moment, he had already thought of names for their future children.

"Wow, you're awake! Are you okay? Does your head hurt? I remember when I had a fever, my head hurt so much, and I felt so weak and miserable!" The girl blinked, and as if remembering something, she placed one hand on Ryn's chest and started patting and touching him all over with the other. Finally, she pressed her forehead against Ryn's.

Finally, Kiana wiped her hand on the blanket and looked at Ryn with a joyful expression, saying:

"Ehhh—, even though you're all sweaty (from Kiana's drool), it looks like the fever's gone. By the way, big sister, you're so pretty! The prettiest person I've ever seen! (Young Kiana lived with Siegfried in the Siberian snowfields and hadn't seen many other people.)"

Kiana's actions, coupled with his racing heart, made Ryn's face flush red, his eyes starting to swirl. Let me die like this, in the arms of a beautiful girl. She's so cute!!!

Suddenly, Ryn froze, then remembered something. So you and your parents thought I was a girl. He looked at his clothes; they hadn't been changed. Then it's indeed possible they couldn't tell I was a boy, my ass!

(╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻

Ryn's heartbeat instantly calmed down. He looked directly into the girl's eyes and said solemnly.

"My name is Ryn. I'm not a big sister. I'm a boy! A boy!"

Kiana looked at him in disbelief, covering her eyes with one hand and her chest with the other. Then, under Ryn's helpless gaze, she lay down on the bed and started throwing a tantrum.

"Ah! Impossible, absolutely impossible! How can a boy be so good-looking, with such soft skin! My stinky old dad clearly said that pretty girls are super-duper pretty and have soft skin. How can you not be a pretty girl! That stinky old dad lied to me again! Aaaah, I don't care, I don't care—"

"..." Ryn was silent for a moment, then said, "Is it possible that all pretty girls are good-looking and have soft skin, but not everyone who is good-looking and has soft skin is a pretty girl?"

"I don't care, I don't care, I want a pretty girl, I want a pretty girl—"

————————————

After fooling around for a while, Kiana seemed to remember something and covered her now-crimson face, with steam practically billowing from her head like a steam engine.

"Um... My name is Kiana Kaslana. Just call me Kiana..."

"Kiana Kaslana, that's a beautiful name. By the way, does Kiana refer to the goddess of the moon in Hawaiian mythology? The name really suits you. The way you looked under the moonlight earlier was truly as beautiful, divine, and pure as the moon goddess!"

"Hehehe, of course! Dad said Mom gave me the name Kiana while holding me under the moonlight!" Kiana sat up again, full of joy, pointing at the moon outside the window as she spoke. But then, as if remembering something, her mood sank again, and her eyes started to turn red and teary.

"Dad said Mom loved Kiana very, very much, but I've never met her, and I have no memories of her at all. Dad said I was seriously injured when I was eight and lost all my previous memories. She should be someone very important, someone who should be engraved in my heart, but I forgot her..."

As Kiana spoke, she started to cry. Not wailing, but tears fell like raindrops.
