Chapter 374 - 374: The Great Battle with the Twilight Lich

Zombies and skeletons weren't much of a concern. Dressed in top-tier diamond armor with enchantments, their defenses could shrug off such attacks.

But witches were different—those things could instantly deal damage with a single throw.

Armor couldn't stop it.

Even Tartaglia, careful as he was, still got hit a few times unexpectedly.

Who knew a witch could be hiding among the bookshelves!

As they moved through the tower, they cleared it floor by floor, lighting it up brightly with torches as they went.

Standing atop the tower, they gazed toward the main tower not far away.

In the distance, a strange creature wearing a crown could be seen, its crimson eyes fixed steadily on them.

"That's the Twilight Lich," Ryen whispered.

"It has noticed us."

Lisa smiled gently.

"So… are we going to deal with it now?"

Ryen nodded slightly.

"No need to wait. Let's move now! Take it down and claim our staff!"

He then looked back at Cloud Retainer.

"I'll leave Klee and the others in your care."

Of course, Ryen wouldn't bring Klee and the others into a dangerous boss fight.

Cloud Retainer, though a bit disappointed at not joining such a large-scale battle, could still watch from afar.

There would be more opportunities later.

Killing the Lich would only drop one staff, which no one would accept.

Leaving Klee, Nahida, and Paimon in Cloud Retainer's care, Ryen organized his team and equipment and set off again.

To be fair, Klee and Nahida were by no means burdens.

Their combat capabilities were even higher than Ningguang and the others.

After all, one was a runaway Sun, the other a little Lucky Grass King.

But Ryen never cared about their fighting power.

He simply cherished them as little princesses.

Besides… the main tower was made of wood. If Klee went in, it wouldn't take long before a huge fire started.

With that in mind, Ryen and the others entered the main tower.

Unlike the secondary tower, there seemed to be even more monsters here.

Still, these foes posed no real problem.

Without stopping once, they pushed relentlessly toward the top.

Standing outside the main door, Ryen glanced at everyone and saw they all had splash-type healing potions ready.

Without hesitation, he pushed the door open.

The next moment, the Twilight Lich atop the platform came into view.

Draped in a dark purple cloak, its appearance was somewhat withered, but not like a zombie.

Its eyes were crimson, tinged with black.

Most striking of all was the crown atop its head.

"Big Paimon!"

Lumine clapped her hands, pointing at the Twilight Lich with a knowing smile.

The tense atmosphere that had been carefully built was instantly shattered by her comment.

But it had to be said…

That crown really did look a lot like Paimon's.

Thankfully, Paimon wasn't here—otherwise, she'd definitely have a quarrel with Lumine.

Glancing at their surroundings, they noticed over a dozen zombies closing in on them.

Ryen waved his hand.

"Attack! Deal with the zombies and skeletons first!"

No sooner had he spoken than Ningguang and the others raised their firearms and began firing.

The Twilight Lich grew angry, raising its staff and mumbling spells in a language no one understood.

"Hit it!"

Ryen shouted. Instantly, four or five healing potions were hurled toward it.

The Twilight Lich didn't seem like a mindless automaton.

It immediately stopped casting, teleporting away from its previous spot.

In the blink of an eye, it appeared not far from them, five shields spinning around it.

A fireball shot out.

But in the next moment, Ganyu's arrow triggered it midair, causing it to explode.

The Twilight Lich swung its staff, and four phantoms surrounded them from the north, south, east, and west, simultaneously casting spells.

"Take down the fireballs! Dodge the magic!"

Ryen warned. Ganyu and Venti immediately drew their bows, hitting the fireballs in midair with precision.

The team spread out, encircling the Twilight Lich.

A dense volley of healing potions rained down relentlessly.

This time, the Twilight Lich couldn't dodge them all.

Three of its five shields were instantly destroyed.

The Twilight Lich immediately teleported away, returning to its previous position by coincidence.

With that, the last two shields vanished as well.

Ryen couldn't help but chuckle.

"Thought you were some great fighter? Turns out… you're still a fool!"

"Can't see? That's a lingering potion, right?"

For the first time, their lingering potion made using the Ender Dragon's breath had achieved perfect results.

With its shields gone, the Lich took damage from the healing potions.

It immediately teleported away again.

From a distance, it looked visibly enraged.

The color of its staff changed.

With a gentle swing, nine emerald-colored zombies eerily emerged from the ground.

The Lich's crimson gaze swept over the zombies. Raising its hand slightly, a thread of red energy formed.

"It's leeching life! Kill those summoned minions!"

No sooner had Ryen finished speaking than a storm of gunfire erupted, becoming the only sound in the entire space.
