Chapter 86 - Pt. 10: 85: Darkness in the City 2

The guards looked at each other before making a call, not letting them proceed until they got the signal. They let them meet the boss. As soon as they got inside the office, everything that was happening in the casino was being watched carefully through a thick, tainted glass. There was a man, a familiar back of a man, standing and holding a glass of whiskey.

"Hello, old man." Skylar greeted the casino's boss with familiarity, making the guards protective.

"How dare you?!" The same guard with them reacted first, but Vincencio quickly intercepted it and put him down on the ground.

"Don't even lay a finger on my wife." He growled in warning, making the rest stand guard.

"Hubby, don't. They're not worth it." She said softly, placing her hand on his shoulder, stopping him in the process before turning to the boss, adding, "Am I right, old man?"

"Truth, but I didn't teach you to disrespect the elderly. They were still older than you, Rose." The casino's boss, Edrico Rusco, her father, faced her with a proud smirk, reminding her of respect.

"Then pardon." She said, shrugging her shoulders, making Vincencio let go of the guard he had pinned down easily.

"Can this old man have a hug?" Edrico asked, facing his daughter with a sly smirk.

"Are you sure you want me to hug you in front of your men?" She daringly wondered, making the old man chuckle.

"Fine, let's exchange bullets and blades then." He said, smirking, before exchanging a few bullets and blades with her. But Skylar has been the fastest fighter in their family ever since she was young, and got the upper hand by pointing her blade against his throat, making him surrender.

"Slow." She teased, making her father chuckle and wave his hands to his guard to leave them before she asked, "And since when did you turn?"

"Since you're mother got into an accident with you. Her bite mark on me spread the vampire venom, turning me into one." He answered before giving her a full head-to-toe look and commented, "But look at you, you've grown and are much stronger."

"But you knew already how strong I was turning into since I've been watching those bastards before I became famous," Skylar answered, looking down at her prey, ruling and belittling players who come and play with them.

"True, and I want them out. They were dying my casino in baseless manners." He coldly answered while his hand tightened around his whiskey glass.

"Dignity of a mafia or a casino business owner?" she smirked, asking who she was talking to.

"Both." He sighed before drinking his whiskey and adding his reason for despising those men. "I give my casino money to those who were in need, but they? They were having too much, leaving no room for the others."

"Then play your part as the boss, and I'll do my game with them." She said with confidence before kissing her husband, leaving a reason. "And Hubby, stay with my father because this hunt could lose your temper."

"Fine, but notify me if something went wrong." He sighed, reminding her, but Skylar chuckled.

"Hubby, don't forget who I am before I got pregnant, and besides, I need their blood in my plate." She winked daringly, making Vincencio jolt, warning his entire being. He knew that taunting and sinister danger coming from her was the vampire flaming his wolf to his core, alive.

"Then come home to me afterwards." He demanded, and Skylar smiled, knowing she would always return to her home. Then she left to play her cards – deadly cards.

***

At the poker area, Skylar checked the games on each table and played them a little; she either intentionally lost or won in three different tables. As she won on the fourth one, it caught the Wakos's attention and invited her to play with them.

"And why would I play with you?" Skylar asked innocently, but her tone held the slyness of a fox.

"Because we can give you all." A man, a target, smugly answered, grinning while his eyes checked her out. But Skylar snapped her fingers, making him look at her eyes, captured.

"So all of you are all-in at each one game?" She slyly asked, already spreading her deadly charms on the man before her.

"Yes, but if you lose at each game, you'll be with us. And perhaps, be one of us, Wakos." He grinned, captivated by her charms.

"Okay, but if you want another round, then every asset you own will be on the bet next. Would you like that deal?" She added another deal in case they desired to win.

"Everything we own?" Another man carefully wondered but was smugly entertained by her words.

"Yes, including you and your loved ones' lives." She answered, shrugging her shoulders, making them laugh.

"If we agree on that, then you'll be doing the same." Another man amusingly guessed, and she nodded.

"Of course, it's between gamblers." She innocently answered, charming the three men completely.

"I like you already." The last and the Wakos' leader amusingly commented and agreed with their bets. "Have a seat, and let's start."

"Oh, be warned, I collect debts." She nonchalantly warned, but they did not take her seriously.

"HAHAHA! Oh, honey, we never lose." They laughed as the dealer began throwing their first cards.

"If you say so…" She shrugged her shoulders before tauntingly saying, opening her cards as well. "…prove it."

However, the game wasn't playing that long when the Wakos felt cornered at every fold, check, and bet Skylar was making, which had run for three rounds already, and she incredibly won. But at the last battle, the crowd began swamping, adding pressure to the Wakos while Skylar remained unreadable and unpredictable until the cards revealed. The Wakos rejoiced, thinking they won. However, when Skylar unfolded her cards, they went pale, making the dealer announce the winner. Skylar won with a royal flush.

"Again," one of the Wakos demanded, which fell into Skylar's liking.

"Again? Remember what we bet in case you ask for the second round per person." Skylar calmly reminded them.

"WE DO." They shouted, responding carelessly.

"And we're doing it again. All bets are in." One of them firmly demanded, arrogantly, but couldn't accept defeat.

"Even your life and your loved ones?" she asked again, since it was their bet if they asked for a second round.

"INCLUDING THEM!!!!" They answered firmly, agreeing with their deal. Skylar looked around, particularly at the dealer.

"Have any of you recorded that?" She asked calmly, and the dealer nodded.

"Why do you need to record that?" One of the Wakos asked.

"A proof of our deal." She answered innocently.

"Fine, record it. All bets are in, including our lives." Another one spat.

"And? You're forgetting something." She asked again.

"Including our loved ones' lives. Let's get this done." Another one said, clicking his tongue in annoyance, couldn't accept defeat.

"You really look forward to your deathbeds…" She sighed, but was very pleased with the event and looked over the dealer, saying, "Draw it. Everyone is a witness here."

"We don't care. We'll take it back." Their leader spat, making Skylar's blood rush in excitement.

"If that's so, then do it." She said coldly, and the second round began, but it also had the same result. But they don't accept defeat.

"AGAIN!" they demanded, insisting and not giving up.

"Can you stop and accept that once in a while you'll taste defeat?" Skylar asked, pretending to be annoyed by their persistent nonsense. "You already lost everything."

"WE'RE NOT GIVING UP!" they shouted, but when Skylar stood up from her chair and walked over to the Wakos' boss and leaned in.

"You already sold your life to me." With eeriness, Skylar whispered deadly in the boss's ears. He quivered, cowering on his chair, pale before she commanded. "Take them out. I already got what I needed from here."

"NO"

"WHERE ARE YOU TAKING US?!"

"LET US GO!"

They kept shouting as they were being dragged out of the casino for real and blacklisted. They were thrown out, leaving them in the hands of Skylar, the woman who beat them and to whom they sold themselves, everything with.

"YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO US." The Wako's boss shouted, but the casino's door was closed already for them, making him look furious at her, blaming her. "BECAUSE OF YOU, WE DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ANYMORE!"

"Don't you dare touch her." Vincencio appeared protectively as he caught his fist about to land on his wife. He tightened his grip, making the Wakos' boss break his wrist, winching in pain.

"You're the one who made the deal and agreed to all of this, so why blame me?" Skylar reminded them of what they had done with her before spitting venom, "You dug your own grave and sold your loved ones' lives in the hands of a stranger, but don't worry, I'll make sure they will pay their debts you left for the rest of their lives."

"WHO ARE YOU TO DO THIS TO US?!" the boss screamed, making Skylar grab his chin, making him look at her.

"I'm just someone you wish you didn't get entangled with because now, your debts with the general are upon you." She whispered, letting his stunned expression before signaling her men to take them away, "Take them there, the ghost of the general is waiting."

***

Somewhere in the city, an abandoned warehouse not far from the casino's street, the Wakos were held captive, beaten, and extremely tortured to bleed out until Skylar, being Rose Slayer, came in with such cold authority and an intimidating presence that could lethally kill any weak people in sight.

"How long have they been out?" Her dark and sinister cold voice asked her men, who were assigned to beat them a little.

"Just a moment, boss," the team leader of the tormenting team answered firmly, but with so much respect and loyalty that he respectfully bowed at her.

"Okay, I'll take it from here and call the cleaners, on standby." She said, patting his shoulder, since she doesn't want them to kill for her. They hesitated, but knowing and working with their general, they understood her reason for not letting them be involved in her killings.

"Affirmative, boss." He responded, and with one snap of his finger, all of his team left the premises without leaving tracks.

When Rose Slayer was left alone, she began preparing her using game, putting the rest of her prey in their right position before waking them up. She tortured them one by one, tortured them like they were nothing but a piece of trash she wanted to play with. She cut them with their own blades and made them either swallow their bullets or be shot into their vital organs. She made sure it was engraved in their memories until she reminded them who she was.

"You kept playing games like the lives of the people belong in your hand, so tell me, how does it taste that it is happening to you now?" Rose Slayer taunted, making sure every crime they had committed before was all reflected on their bodies, on their blood. "Well, it's too late for you to beg for mercy because none of you desired it for real. Good, and our deathbeds were all served."

"NO –" they all tried to scream, but Rose Slayer wasn't in the mood for any screaming noises and quickly slit their throats.

"Wow, you didn't play much." Vincencio, as the Night Hound, clapped his hands amusingly. Rose Slayer bowed like she was a theater actress.

"Well, I don't like their taste and I'm hungry." She giggled and rubbed her tummy, making him frown.

"Seriously, you just cut them into parts, and now you want to eat? Seriously." He commented in disbelief.

"Well, you're married to a wonderful beast." She winked before walking ahead of him.

"Yeah, my sugar beast." He teased, making her slow down.

"Shut up." She groaned and hooked her arm around his as they left the venue like there was no committed crime in the warehouse, before whispering, "The brewing darkness has just begun."

It was true because, as the Rose Slayer played her last target before she focused on her pregnancy, she left her brother a message that needed to be taken seriously.

Text Messages:

Rose Slayer: I'll start taking my break from my hunting. Make sure that nomad won't be stepping into my life during my pregnancy, or I'll kill you myself. Preoccupy him for a year or two.'

Boss Rico: How should I know when it will be the time?

Rose Slayer: When I personally check on you as my business partner. Till then, I'll lie low."

Boss Rico: Noted.
