Chapter 50 - The Heartbane's Price

As the day passed, Sera's condition worsened to the point that even Alec could tell she wasn't in her best condition. She skipped most of the hunts now, staying in her quarters as she burned with a high fever. Lyria took it upon herself to tend to Sera and tried to nurse her back to health with Charlotte's help. 

"She hasn't been this sick for a long time," Charlotte commented after she cleaned up after Sera. Her young miss has been burning with fever for three days now and has been stuck in her bed since then. 

Lyria bit her lip. No matter what she does, she can't seem to break Sera's high fever. The disturbance in Sera's mana must be more serious than she had thought. However, considering Sera won't tell her anything, it would be impossible for her to diagnose the root cause, let alone cure it. She could only treat the symptoms and ease Sera's pain. 

"It's like her body is fighting a war on the inside," Lyria murmured, wiping a cool cloth across Sera's damp forehead.
