As Eric stepped through the arrival hall in Country Q, he spotted Martins was already waiting at the airport entrance.
"Welcome back, sir," Martins greeted, already taking the luggage from Eric's hand.
"Thank you, Martins," Eric replied, offering a tired but genuine smile. "And... thank you for all your hard work these past months."
Martins laughed awkwardly as he loaded the suitcase into the trunk. "I'm happy to help, sir."
Once they pulled out of the airport, Eric asked, "Did you look into what I asked?"
"Yes, sir. Josh is being monitored as we speak." Martins answered.
Eric nodded, jaw tightening. "Good. Next... contact a reporter. I want an article released about my divorce from Clara." He paused, breath hitching just slightly. "And about Emily... not being my daughter."
"Sir, are you sure you want that out?" Martins asked.
"Yes," Eric said quietly but firmly.
Martins swallowed whatever he'd been about to say. "Understood, sir."
