Chapter 2: I'm Blessed by Providence?!
"Alright, now that the mystery is solved, let's check out what this world has to offer." Ken closed his eyes for a second, then opened them, finally planning to get up from his position.
But just as he was about to stand up and leave his little house to check the outside world, something appeared in his vision.
[You have been chosen!]
[Congratulations on being blessed by Providence!]
"Hmm?" Ken stopped in his tracks, looking intently at the golden panel that was glowing softly.
"I'm blessed by providence, you say?" Ken doubted it for a second; nothing came free, and this rule certainly wasn't going to change.
"A holograph?" He squinted his eyes.
"Could it be a system? That does make sense, assuming the situation I find myself in." He added. He wasn't entirely oblivious to such tropes nor was he unfamiliar with this construct named a system.
But, from the knowledge he had, such a thing should be an impossibility. Reincarnation, Transmigration? Such things were never recorded as proof in any book, and all claims were false delusions people with barely any credibility claimed to have stumbled across.
Still, other such alternatives could be possible.
But now he was in this situation and he had no choice but to accept it.
Even so, it had taken him some time to digest this fact, thus taking the time he had taken to accept it.
Ken always believed that death wasn't the end, nor did he understand why people assumed it was, but that's a matter for another time.
[Having been blessed, you are eligible to use certain forms of providence that will help you in your mission.]
"My mission?" Ken stopped for a second. This single word meant that whatever the reason was for him to be blessed, it meant he had to pay some price.
"This could also mean that it will help with whatever mission I choose to take." Ken also added that it didn't specify, leaving much room for thought.
"Whatever it is, let's see what it offers, and then I can decide on my own." Ken said, but he knew that as he was currently, he didn't have much choice but to accept.
With him saying that, the golden panel, which seemed as if it was waiting for him, finally changed, uncovering its promises.
-------[Providence Space]-------
[Provide Status {Active} - You are able to take a glimpse at your own status; it keeps track of your progress as well as a simplified reading of yourself.]
[Provide Hints {Passive} - As part of the Providence's blessings, secrets and facts are hinted at wherever your eyes wander; keep a lookoutfor anything that could potentially prove useful. But, in the end, it's only hints; you have to use your own mind to make good use of what you have.]
[Provide Gacha {Active Monthly}]—Every month, you are able to roll for a boon from several categories within your own range of strength (currently: Starless): [Weapons], [Professions], [Skills (Element Related)], [Techniques], [Special].]
[Provide Info {Daily} - Every day, you are able to use this chance to glimpse at secrets and truths within your periphery. This information could be something you need most: locations of treasures, enemy weak points, secrets untold, even forbidden truths that might get you killed for just knowing them, past knowledge, and events that might happen or periodically happen in the future. All in all, you might choose to absorb the information after you gain it or remove it completely from your mind if it proves too dangerous. If you fail to activated it manually, it will automatically activate just before midnight.]
[Provide Idle Training {Passive} - Whatever skill, technique, or profession you have goes through automatic training, while active training speeds up the process; as long as you allow enough time, anything can reach the peak.]
---------[Providence End]---------
"Well, I'd be damned." Ken, for the first time in this life, remained speechless.
