Chapter 293 - 293 THE END OF CHESS

293 THE END OF CHESS

But the chains weren't going out at Argun.

"Break the chessboard now", Dassa cried towards Ramses.

Suddenly, the realm of Chess dissolved. The battleground was returned to the army camp of the demons.

"What is happening here?" King Argun cried in surprise.

Ramses gave up his chessboard. "You win this game, demon. But you'll lose your life," Ramses told him.

Suddenly, the chains from Hera lashed out, binding the weaker demonic entities and creatures that were once fighting in the chessboard. With the chessboard gone, the forces that confined them into magical blocks of chess pieces were gone. They were free now.

But the battle wasn't over for them. Soon, the chains that caught them began siphoning their dark energies.

"No… Spare us mistress," the demons cried.

Then the dark energies converged on Argun, anchoring themselves into his form as they crackled with divine power.

"What are you doing to me?!" Argun roared, struggling against the unbreakable chains.

The stolen energy from the demons surged into Hera, her form growing brighter, more magnificent. Her light became blinding as Argun's struggles weakened, his strength drained by the relentless chains.

Hera advanced, her spear transforming into a blade of concentrated light. Argun, in a final act of desperation, broke one of the chains and lunged. His claws tore through the air, striking Hera's chest.

"You'll die with me bitch," Argun cried.

The blow was devastating, but Hera retaliated with unwavering resolve, driving her spear upward into Argun's core.

"You die first", she replied.

The battlefield erupted in a storm of light and shadow.

Argun's roars turned to howls of agony as divine energy consumed him from within, unraveling his chaotic essence. The clash ended in an explosive burst of power that silenced the storm.

As the dust settled, only Dassa, Godmother's earthly vessel, remained. Her body collapsed to the ground, the spirit of the Godmother escaping in a wisp of light from the spot where Argun had been vanquished.

Dassa, too, was gone.

Standing amidst the destruction, Ramses caught the dissipating spirit of his Godmother.

"Mother…" Ramses's voice cracked with grief.

"Do not mourn, my son," the Godmother's spirit whispered. "I will not vanish so easily."

"God… no… mother. Rest well in my domain," Ramses vowed with tears flowing. "In time, I will bring you back. Not as my godmother but as my mother."

Godmother, or Zorana as she was known before, crossed into this world from Earth, carrying her unborn son. The terms of her arrival were cruel and absolute—this realm had room for only one player.

She was given a choice to play but the cruel condition was- she must abandon her unborn child. She made a shocking decision. She gave up her place for her son.

Her son entered this realm as an unborn child, the future Emperor Ramses III. Zorana's spirits remained behind though, without a body, clinging to the soul of his son.

As a spirit, she could not truly die. She could be revived though, if a suitable vessel was found for her.

Zorana smiled before her essence melded with her son's soul until she was ripe to be reborn again. "We've been through this before… we'll go through it again."

Now, on a battlefield littered with the remains of a demon horde, Ramses stood alone, victorious yet bereft. The echoes of Zorana's voice faded into silence as she withdrew into his core, leaving him without her guidance.

"Mother…", he cried.

Then he laughed.

His laughter cracked the stillness, sharp and bitter. "Hahaha!" Ramses turned his gaze toward the distant spires of his palace, a grim satisfaction gleaming in his eyes.

"I won," he said.

The rhythmic pounding of boots broke his reverie.

His elite palace guards emerged from the haze of smoke and ash, unscathed by the carnage. They had held the perimeters, securing the rear while Ramses and the Godmother possessed Dassa, ventured into the heart of the demon encampment.

Together, they obliterated the enemy, leaving no survivors.

"Hail the Emperor!" the guards chanted, their voices swelling with awe as they beheld their leader, who had single-handedly annihilated the entire demon army.

Ramses ascended a pavilion, his every step resonating with unyielding purpose. He glanced over the ruined field, preparing to return to the palace and consolidate his triumph.

Then came the sound—a deep, resonant horn blast that rolled across the plains like thunder.

Ramses froze.

"What is that sound? Didn't we kill all the demons?" he asked.

This was another invasion.

He narrowed his eyes to the horizon, where banners rose against the crimson sky. These were not demon flags but the emblems of Sodom City, a longtime adversary.

"Sodom City… How is this possible?" Ramses muttered, his voice low and deadly.

Ramses clenched his fists. His victory had been but a fleeting prelude. The true battle was only beginning.

[The Palace of the Emperor in Debauchery City]

Leo and Yun-Yun stepped through the shimmering veil of the magic fountain, emerging into Godmother's Vault—her hidden realm.

For Leo, this place was both a haven of discovery and a graveyard of loss. He came here once before, accompanied by Petunia and Sujira. Neither had made it out with him, and even his shadow minion was destroyed here.

But fate, or perhaps something greater, had seen fit to restore what was lost. He would not make the same mistake again.

The soul of his shadow minion returned to him, bearing a prize unlike any other—the third stage of the Giga Codex.

When his shadow minion took the Giga Codex in the Godmother's vault, it went straight into the Dungeon of the Jade Throne. Even when he was destroyed, the Giga Codex so obtained remained in the dungeon.

The newly obtained Giga Codex increased their knowledge of its mysteries.

With the mysteries of the Giga Codex's revelations, Leo unlocked the power to craft simple yet profound programs capable of reshaping the fabric of reality itself.

Yun-Yun, too, had grown. Through her study of the Giga Codex, she unearthed magical knowledge that complemented Leo's newfound abilities.
