302 END OF CHESS?
"Mother had calculated every move. There is no victory for me except one. This one", Ramses replied and laughed.
The pieces of his scheme had fallen perfectly into place. Ramses could feel the untamed energy radiating from Leo was teetering on the edge of a breakthrough.
He was only a heartbeat away from breaking into the fabled Man-tier Cakra, a transformation that would summon the wrath of the heavens themselves- Divine Retribution.
Zorana was desperate. She knew that to win, she had only one move- to sacrifice her soul to unlock Leo's ascent into Man-tier and attract Heaven's Retribution on him.
Ramses carried out her cruel gambit with precision.
The divine lightning that accompanied a breakthrough to the Man-tier Cakra was a force of annihilation, sparing no one, not even the ascended. There were more people dying from Divine Retribution than those who finally ascended.
Even the demon King, Bael was no exception.
Ramses watched with a gleam of triumph in his eyes, his laughter fading to a satisfied smile. "Nobody can resist Divine's Retribution inside my chessboard, especially someone from the white side," he added.
It was bad that Leo would suffer a Divine Retribution now when he wasn't prepared for it. It was worse that there was a debuff on him in the chess realm. He became weaker than usual here.
"No," Leo said, his tone heavy with realization. "I guess I'm in serious trouble this time."
Magic coursed through Leo, wild and untamed. His body trembled as he ascended to the next tier of power: the Man Tier Cakra.
The heavens responded almost instantly.
Thunder roared, and the skies darkened as the harbinger of Divine Retribution loomed—a punishment meted out to those who dared transcend.
Leo knew his retribution would be no ordinary trial. It would be catastrophic.
"We're not prepared for this!" Yun-Yun snapped, her eyes darting to the ominous storm gathering above.
"What's happening? We are coming in to help you," Gubana said as he finally defeated his opponent.
After the demons were vanquished when they returned to Ramses, he took the opportunity to land a final blow at General Tokin, killing him in a blow. He captured the square and could move again.
"No… don't enter my square yet", Leo warned.
"Why not? We can defeat the emperor together", Gubana asked.
"Defeating the emperor is not hard, the hard part is getting through Divine Retribution", Yun-Yun explained to him.
"What can we do now?" he asked.
"Go help the others", Leo asked.
Gubana's Queen piece quickly moved into Bara's spot.
"Damn goodness you are here. If I survive this, I'll reserve your old cock in my orgy celebration", Bara said with relief.
"Shut up", Gubana replied as he battled her opponent.
Suddenly, the sky above cracked. Lightning struck towards Leo but the lightning was stopped by the shields of his chess piece. His chess piece besides preventing those inside the piece from leaving their square, prevented external magic from entering including Divine's lightning.
"Haha…", Leo laughed as Divine Retribution struck the chessboard.
"No… I didn't expect this. My chessboard realm blocked your divine lightning", Ramses cried and fell to the floor crying. He lost totally this time.
Ramses schemed to have Leo killed by Divine Retribution, but he miscalculated. His chess realm blocked the lightning for him.
The lightning soon broke Leo's Knight piece. The chessboard realm soon disappeared too. The power of Divine Retribution destroyed Ramses's chess domain.
But danger wasn't over for Leo. Despite destroying Ramses' chess realm, more lightning continued pouring down on Leo.
"Damnit, even the chess realm can't take Divine Retribution's beating", Leo shouted.
"Raise your dungeon. Your dungeon realm can absorb some of the Divine Retribution", Yun-Yun suggested.
Leo quickly summoned his dungeon realm as huge willow trees appeared around him. He summoned his dungeon like how Ramses summoned his chess realm.
"No,… how can you still have another magic domain", Ramses cried.
But lightning continued to fall and soon, even Leo's dungeon wasn't strong enough to contain Divine's Retribution.
"My dungeon is breaking up… everybody leave while you can", Leo shouted to disburse everyone.
"Are you sure you can handle this alone?" Rabama asked his friend, his voice trembling with concern.
"This is my task," Leo replied, his tone firm and unyielding. "There's nothing more you can do for me here. Go now, all of you."
The armies of Sodom scattered in haste, knowing they would not survive the wrath of Divine Retribution alongside Leo. The looming storm above was an omen of death and devastation.
With heavy hearts, the others retreated to a safe distance, leaving only Leo to face the celestial judgment.
"What should we do now, the dungeon could not contain his lightning", Petunia asked.
Yun-Yun did not hesitate. She waved her hands to cast a spell. Soon, the Jade Throne appeared above Leo, covering him like a bastion.
"Will the Jade Throne be strong enough to stop Divine Retribution?" Leo asked.
All of a sudden, all the roses around them disappeared. The effects of Leo's dungeon were disappearing, destroyed under the intense assault of Divine Retribution.
The sky churned with darkness, thick clouds swirling like a cauldron of chaos. Lightning streaked across the heavens, illuminating the ground in fleeting bursts of daylight.
The oppressive storm coalesced into a singular, menacing form—a massive spear of lightning, its tip pointed directly at Leo. It pierced into the Jade Throne.
"Crack…."
To the shock of everyone, the Jade Throne cracked under the intense lightning of Leo's Divine Retribution.
"How can this be? The Jade Throne blocked Divine Retribution before," Leo asked.
Leo used the Jade Throne to block the Divine Retribution of Bael when he ascended. The lightning didn't break the Jade Throne then.
"Your retribution is greater than other mages. Even the Jade Throne couldn't contain the retribution", Yun-Yun explained to him.
"What now?" Petunia asked, fear etched across her face as she tried to reach Leo.
"You stay there," Yun-Yun commanded her. "This is not your battle."
