303 LEO MUST DIE
Reluctantly, Petunia stayed together with the rest of Sodom's army.
"Stay Safe..", she prayed. The retribution wasn't something she could stop.
Then the sky cracked again. A second retribution was coming.
"Damnit, another lightning. Is this my fucking end now?" Leo asked as the lightning dashed towards him but this time there was no Jade Throne to protect him.
Suddenly, Yun-Yun reached forward.
"No…," Leo warned her from coming to save him. It was impossible for her to do so. Nothing could save him now.
But Yun-Yun wasn't hesitant.
"The time has come," Yun-Yun said, her voice steady.
----
Yun-Yun quickly reached before Leo and wove an intricate lattice of golden light above her and Leo, forming a dome of incredible power. It shimmered with an aura that could repel even the strongest spells below Ana Cakra. It was a feat, few believed possible.
"What kind of magic is this? It's stronger than the city-wide defensive formations, what tier of magic is this?" General Nahum marveled.
"This power doesn't belong to humans," Gubana murmured grimly.
Above them, the storm writhed and convulsed. The darkened heavens molded themselves into a colossal fist, crackling with energy, spanning the entire battlefield.
There was no escaping its wrath.
The fist descended, colliding with Yun-Yun's golden dome. The shield held for a moment, but fractures began to spread like veins of light across its surface.
"We must patch the dome!" Yun-Yun shouted, her voice urgent.
Leo summoned his control panel. His mind moved deftly on his imaginary keyboard, manipulating the fabric of reality itself.
He identified the weak points in Yun-Yun's barrier and reinforced them with streams of coded magic. The cracks mended, and the dome stood strong once more.
"Yes, keep it up. My shield is mending", Yun-Yun said.
But the divine storm was merciless and grew in viciousness. The fist bore down with relentless force, and more cracks spidered across the golden shield.
Leo's mind raced, his concentration unyielding as he patched crack after crack. The effort was grueling, and the onslaught unending.
"I couldn't keep up with this..", Leo complained.
But finally, their efforts failed.
The dome shattered, and the fist of lightning struck them directly.
Golden apparitions of their body transformation magic—Dragon Rakhshasas emerged to shield them, their ethereal forms absorbing some of the impact. But the dragons dissolved under overwhelming force, leaving Leo and Yun-Yun fully engulfed.
Is the Divine retribution over?
"We survived!" Yun-Yun exclaimed, her relief palpable although her body badly burnt.
But Leo's expression remained grim despite their survival. "It's not over," he said, his voice heavy.
"The third retribution is coming."
The storm above churned one final time, forming the figure of the God of Thunder. Towering over the battlefield, he wielded a massive hammer that crackled with divine fury.
The hammer descended, aimed directly at Leo.
"All our magic, all our treasures—it won't be enough to get through this," Leo said, his tone laced with inevitability.
Yun-Yun understood, though her heart ached. Tears streamed down her face as she stepped in front of Leo. "No lightning will reach you—not while I still stand," she vowed trying to protect him with her own life.
Leo looked at her with deep affection and sadness. "I love you, Yun-Yun, always," he said softly as he pushed her away.
"No…", Yun-Yun screamed while she was taken away.
Now, alone on the battlefield, Leo faced the God of Thunder.
"Come to me you fucker...," Leo screamed.
-----
Suddenly a familiar apparition appeared before Leo.
"Well, you're in big trouble this time," Vanessa, his handler from System asked with a smug on her face.
"You bitch, are you going to let me die..", Leo screamed towards her.
"Screaming at me wouldn't get you out of this," she replied.
"Get me out of this shit", Leo asked.
"Why should I?" she replied with a smile.
Leo thought about it. If he must die, then Vanessa wouldn't appear before him with a smug on her face. She must have a way to save him.
"Name your price? What can I do for you if you save me this time?" Leo asked her.
"I believe you misunderstood me. You will die today and there is nothing that I could do to save you. In fact your soul would be ripped into pieces and sent away. Even the System couldn't recover all of you even if it wants to", Vanessa explained.
"Damnit, you are the System. Aren't you the fucking god of this world?" Leo asked furiously.
Vanessa smiled.
"No, the System doesn't own this world. In fact, it doesn't even belong to this world. We are as alien to this world as you are", she explained.
"What do you mean? This fucking game realm isn't the Realm of Sins? And those NPCs?" Leo asked.
"Ah… the NPCs. Well, they are not NPCs, they are the original inhabitants of this realm. You are the alien who travelled into this world and took over the bodies of the people here. We the System… you can consider as your tour guides in this world", Vanessa replied to him.
"The Realm of Sins is a Tour Company guiding tourists from other world to this place?" Leo asked in his mind.
Then Leo turned his thoughts to more pressing concerns.
"Damnit, I don't care about NPC or this fucking world. Just get me out of this shit", Leo pleaded with her.
Vanessa paused a second before replying.
"There is no cheating this time. You must die," she replied.
The divine hammer struck with unimaginable force, the energy tearing through the earth and sky alike. Half the city was obliterated by the cataclysmic blow. The residual energy was so intense that the Sodom army had to conjure their most powerful shields to survive it.
As the lightning faded and the storm dispersed, the sky cleared.
The divine retribution was finally over.
But amidst the charred remains of the battlefield, Leo was nowhere to be found.
He was gone.
