Chapter 84 - Chapter Eighty-Four - Not Human

"Come on, why are you stopping? Let's go!"

When most of the walkers had turned their attention to Michael, the people trapped in the minibus took this chance to escape from their predicament. There was still some resistance from the walkers, but it was more manageable than before.

"Shouldn't we help him?"

The group had just escaped to the edge of this undead swarm when Cyan stopped in her tracks and turned her head towards where the walkers were slowly gathering towards a lone man on the road.

Aries clicked his tongue and threw a question that made her speechless. "Can we..even help him? We have kids, Cyan. Let's freaking go!"

"Dang it!"

Cyan hesitated before letting out a frustrated cursed before following Aries and the rest. The two groups might have met under unfavorable circumstances, but it does not change the fact that Michael had helped them escape. So she feels incredibly awful abandoning him like this after what he did for them.

While Cyan feels guilty leaving him, Michael on the other hand was relieved to see them escape. He actually didn't plan to step up and help them when he saw and recognized that a few of them were part of that crew the other day.

But when he heard the cries of children coming from the bus, Michael knew he had to step up. Not only because he feels guilty for not helping, but it's also for the children who had to grow up in a world that had gone to shit.

'Finally gone.' Michael thought as he swung the claymore from his left to the right. Cleaving multiple walkers in front of him through their necks.

He turned to his left and grabbed the walker that was about to grab him on his heck. He clenched his fingers around its neck and shoved it towards its fellow undead as several of them fell down like domino blocks.

"Move the f*ck away!"

Michael yelled and delivered a kick on the chest of another walker and followed it up with a powerful horizontal slash, and another, then another as he slowly cleaved his way out of the swarm.

He threw along kicks along with his swordplay to create a space between him and the walkers. He knew that allowing himself to get surrounded was dangerous but he wanted to test his limits. Even with such a situation at hand, he realized that this swarm of walkers can't even pose a threat to him.

Slash!

One more powerful cleave, and Michael managed to easily make his way out of the undead encirclement.

'It seems there's a massive change that happened to my body after all of my three attributes had all surpassed human physique.' Michael thought. He felt that single enhancement from his recent level up to his Agility did more than to increase his speed and reaction time, but that it also increased his overall innate abilities.

'It's like I'm a beast in human skin.' He added since he can't really explain how he's feeling right now.

Swoosh!

Michael's gaze sharpened when the walkers were once again tightening their encirclement on him. He gripped his claymore tightly and executed a powerful spinning cleave.

'If I keep raising my level like this, wouldn't I become unstoppable in this world?' Looking at the relentless pursuit of the walkers, Michael had thought inside his head as he cleaved another walker into two.

Over in the distance, back at the motorhome.

Andrea had already gotten up and was currently with Rosita on the rooftop of the vehicle with a binocular in her hands, which they are using to watch him from a safe distance.

"He's no ordinary human, isn't he?" Rosita suddenly said those words after Andrea had lowered the binocular.

Andrea shrugged her shoulders and calmly responded with the following words. "I know."

Rosita looked at her from the corner of her eyes. "And it does not bother you or anyone at all?"

Andrea turned her head to Rosita and smiled slightly. "You know, for me. It really does not. Maybe I've never really cared about it in the first place. With how the world has become, would someone even really care? I'd rather be with someone I know would protect me and my loved ones than be with someone I can't trust my back with. Most of the time, humans are more cruel than animals. Me, the others back at the prison, we slowly realized he wasn't just a regular man as we slowly got to know him and witness the things he did. From rescuing Sophia against tens of walkers to carrying a motorcycle by himself? Those weren't things an ordinary person should easily be doing. Everyone knows, they just…they just had this tacit understanding not to talk about it and shut down any questions regarding things that others might witness while living and travelling with him."

Rosita smiled before lightly letting out a mocking chuckle. "So, all of you all got it figured out huh? Is that the reason why he's the one leading the group? Everyone voted for it?"

Andrea just smiled at those words before lightly shaking her head. "No, it just happened. It did not start immediately, I think he might have been watching us from that time Daryl found him in the woods and got him to join us. But as the days and hardships continued to pester the group, he slowly took on leadership roles alongside Rick. Now, the rest is history. Now, every major decision that divides the group would always go through him, even the minor ones. So, whatever decision from him would then be agreed on by everyone. Like everyone is just waiting for his opinion, and so far, he has never made a mistake. That's why everyone trusts him and does not really care if he's even remotely human or not. He gave us security, and we gave him our trust and loyalty."

"You people trust him that much huh?"

Andrea just rolled her eyes at her and thought to herself.

'If I didn't, would I even be f*cking with him?'
