"Yeah, yeah, of course, darling." Mazikeen rolled her eyes as if she had heard that nonsense too many times. "Just like my love. Changing every day until I'm sick of it myself."
Lance could only let out a long sigh.
Good grief... this damn succubus is truly a professional.
But suddenly, the air around Lance changed drastically.
The sounds vanished instantly, as if the world was holding its breath.
The lights in the bar froze in their dance, creating a suffocating silence.
The dust that had been floating in the light now hung in the air, still, like a painting.
The power of time.
Lance felt his body locked, yet his awareness remained sharp. The soul within Lance was still alive, alert.
Behind the bars, a light shone like an open door to heaven.
A muscular figure fell from the sky—and unfurled a pair of large wings radiating power.
An angel. Dark-skinned. Majestic and full of an aura of grandeur.
"Amenadiel," Lucifer murmured softly as he placed his wine glass on the table with a lazy touch. His tone was filled with displeasure. "You're going to make the Sorcerer Supreme angry. And I really don't want to be kicked out of here with you."
"I hope that's exactly what he does," Amenadiel replied, walking gracefully even as the ground cracked beneath his feet. Amenadiel folded his wings, his voice echoing like a death knell. "Lucifer. God commands you to return to Hell!"
Lucifer grinned, his eyes blazing with deep rebellion. "Then help convey to God—I am not going back. I am tired of orders. I am bored of being His puppet."
Amenadiel's face hardened, his jaw clenched. "Do not blaspheme the God!"
"Oh, really? Father has belittled me since the beginning of time. And I think, perhaps... he is not as good as you all think." Lucifer's tone was light, but each word carried the wounds of millennia.
"Your very existence is an insult to the sacred!" Amenadiel shouted, his wings spreading wide, the feathers taut like thousands of sharp blades aimed at Lucifer's neck.
But before the attack could land—
From the void, a low explosion of sound echoed.
"Birdman," a flat voice resonated, "do you already know how to explain this to Kamar-Taj?"
"What—?" Amenadiel turned briefly, but it was too late.
A crescent moon sword pierced through space, slicing time, and shot toward Amenadiel.
Whoosh!
The angel crossed his arms, but was still knocked back by the gust of wind that shook the air. The sword split the bar in two, the sound of cracking wood and metal filling the previously frozen room.
Wooo~
Time broke.
The lights flickered back on.
Dust fell to the floor.
The music resumed its melody.
People began to move again, looking around with bewildered expressions. Some checked their glasses, confused whether this was the effect of alcohol or something much greater.
An earthquake?
Lucifer calmly brushed the dust off his suit.
Amenadiel rose from the rubble, white feathers falling from his wings one by one.
Amenadiel's gaze was filled with rage.
Angel wings were not just a symbol. Amenadiel was the source of their power. Every fallen feather was a loss of strength.
"Mortal creature!" Amenadiel growled, his voice shaking the glass.
In the corner of the room, Lance slowly stood up. A faint white aura enveloped Lucifer's body. Cold, majestic, and blazing all at once.
"To hell with you!" Lance had called upon the Lord of the White Sky to possess his body. Without that, he would have surely struggled to free himself since time had frozen.
Without waiting for the arrogant black angel to attack, Lance leaped confidently, aiming his Zanpakuto sword at Amenadiel's head. With a swift motion, the sword shot forward, slicing through the air with a clear intent to kill.
Whoosh!
A golden spear suddenly appeared, moving so quickly that it blocked the tip of the Zanpakuto, creating a spark of light that split the air.
The loud clash echoed, yet Lance showed no sign of surprise. His face remained calm, though inside, he knew this attack was not an easy opponent.
The image of gods in Marvel is so vague, vastly different from the depiction of gods in the DC universe. In the Marvel world, gods are not considered entities of the highest status.
However, their power is still extraordinary—there is not a single creature on Earth that can match it. They are not just gods; they are beings with power that can reach Universal or even Multiversal levels.
Lucifer, for example, is said to possess half the power of a God. This means that even though Lucifer does not reach full power, he is still at a Galactic-Level—one step higher than what most beings can comprehend.
However, the black-skinned individual who dares to threaten Lucifer directly seems to be no different. Amenadiel is likely also a being of Galactic-Level. A demon from another dimension—one far beyond mortal reach, filled with countless mysteries and threats.
Dimensional demons, though powerful, have a significant weakness. The farther they stray from their original dimension, the more their power diminishes. The passage of time will only reduce their potential.
Cyttorak, the ruler of the Crimson Universe, is the best example. In his home dimension, Cyttorak could face the Living Tribunal, one of the most powerful entities in the universe. However, once he steps out of the Crimson Universe, the threat of his power drastically decreases.
In this world, far from heaven or hell, it is clear that if those two archangels truly possessed cosmic power, the Sorcerer Supreme—an entity that maintains the balance of magical forces on Earth—would certainly not allow them to enter without a fight. There was no way for them to come without drawing greater attention.
However, in Lance's perception, their power was still far below the true strength of someone who exists on Earth. Even Lucifer, with all his brilliance and honor, seemed not strong enough to defeat Christine. In Lance's view, they were merely beings limited by human bodies or some kind of imperfect incarnation.
