Chapter 863 - Chapter 1118 - Two to Two

Every rock flew like a missile. Although the trajectories of the projectiles were different, these sharp stones, under Tyranitar's precise control, seemed to possess a mind of their own as they shot toward the Delphox.

The Delphox stood its ground, its expression turning slightly solemn as it gently waved the flaming wand in its hand.

Psychic!

However, it did not use the move on Tyranitar, but on itself, causing its body to retreat rapidly and create distance from the opposing Pokémon.

Chesnaught would not simply stand by and watch the Delphox be attacked.

Caron——!

With a roar, the spikes on its back glowed once more. But this time, it was not Needle Arm. What flew out were round, green, seed-like objects faintly shimmering with a fluorescent light.

Seed Bomb.

Seeing the bombs flying toward it, Tyranitar slowed its pace slightly under Aoki's command, opened its mouth, and a stream of scorching flames spewed forth.

Flamethrower intercepted many of the Seed Bombs mid-flight, detonating them prematurely. A huge roar echoed through the air as the atmosphere vibrated from the explosions.

Although Tyranitar's Flamethrower was not a skill native to its typical moveset, its power was far from weak. This was because it had absorbed energy from the primal Groudon, not the incomplete version that appeared later. Primal Groudon is a Ground and Fire-type Pokémon, so the power of Tyranitar's Flamethrower was still considerable.

The interaction between the Seed Bomb and the flames made the entire explosion even louder. Ultimately, however, a few seeds, under Chesnaught's control, bypassed the wall of fire and rushed toward Tyranitar.

Tyranitar showed no panic. It extended its right arm and waved it through the air. As if receiving a command, the sand on the ground quickly gathered together. In the blink of an eye, a wall of sand formed in front of Tyranitar, and the Seed Bombs collided with the sandy barrier.

Boom! Boom! Boom! ...

The explosions only shattered the sand wall, ultimately failing to strike Tyranitar.

However, as Tyranitar used Flamethrower and manipulated the sand, its control over the Stone Edge projectiles weakened significantly, allowing the Delphox to successfully evade the pursuing rocks. Using its psychic powers, it also shattered many of the incoming stones mid-flight.

Chesnaught's strategy of besieging the opponent to save its ally had proven quite effective this time.

But one must not forget, this was agreed to be a doubles match. How could simply dealing with Tyranitar be enough?

The Blaziken following behind Tyranitar had already used Swords Dance and completed its stat boosts. Using Tyranitar's body as a stepping stone, it leaped into the air in just two or three steps. No longer limiting its own speed, Blaziken was now undoubtedly the fastest of the four Pokémon on the field.

Blaziken soared into the air, scanned the entire area, and locked onto its target. The Grass-type Chesnaught was the most suitable target for its assault.

It was still ascending, its body engulfed in rising flames. Among the fiery red flames, a significant number of golden flames flickered. The reason it did not use entirely golden flames was due to the excessive energy consumption; the effect produced by this mixed mode would not be much weaker and would conserve more energy.

The Blaziken, wrapped in flames, rose into the air and seemed to transform into a small sun. Its ascent was not particularly fast, but under its own control, it reached its peak in an instant. Keeping one leg extended, the flames on its body gradually dissipated, all converging onto its foot.

Blaze Kick!

As Blaziken descended, a wave of heat washed over the battlefield. Chesnaught's expression changed. It clasped its hands together in front of its chest, bent down slightly, and exposed the hard armor on its back to Blaziken's attack. A layer of light green energy shimmered across its back.

Spiky Shield!

This move was somewhat similar to Protect but had slightly different effects. The key was that it could defend against the opponent's attack while simultaneously dealing some damage in return.

Blaziken's attack could no longer be stopped.

BANG!!

Its kick struck Chesnaught squarely on the back. Due to the effect of Spiky Shield, Chesnaught did not budge an inch. Blaziken performed a backflip and landed on one knee on the ground, clearly suffering from recoil damage.

With Chesnaught's assistance, Tyranitar maintained a defensive posture and charged forward. A ball of ice crystals, sparkling with a crystalline light, quickly condensed on its sandbag-sized fist and hurtled toward Chesnaught's face.

Ice Punch!

But just as it was about to strike Chesnaught, a layer of psychic energy enveloped its body. It was forced back abruptly.

It seemed Chesnaught and the Delphox cooperated quite well. They had likely lived together for a long time and developed a certain level of默契 (tacit understanding). No wonder they had chosen to engage Aoki in a two-on-two battle.

Blaziken's Blaze Kick had already been a mistake on Aoki's part. If Chesnaught were to escape now, what kind of Trainer would that make him?

So Aoki had anticipated this.

What was the best way to deal with psychic powers?

Tyranitar opened its mouth once more, and a wave of dark energy instantly gathered within.

Dark Pulse!

Before Chesnaught could be rescued by the Delphox, the Dark Pulse struck it. Instantly, the effects of Psychic were dispelled. Then, Tyranitar's Ice Punch naturally connected with Chesnaught's face.

BANG!!!

A tremendous crash echoed, followed by the sound of the ground sinking. Not everyone could take a direct punch from Tyranitar, especially after it had learned some strength utilization techniques from Vigoroth. It was even more terrifying!

Meanwhile, Blaziken had also recovered. It abandoned Chesnaught and sprinted at high speed toward the Delphox. Its speed was increased to the extreme. Several psychic attacks from the Delphox were narrowly and precisely dodged by Blaziken.

Concerned for Chesnaught's condition, the Delphox did not maintain enough distance. For Blaziken, this gap was closed in the blink of an eye. There was no intention of showing any mercy.

It rushed to the front of the Delphox. In a panic, the Delphox waved its wand and used Dazzling Gleam on Blaziken. The Psychic-type move was super effective against the Fighting-type, and it had not completely lost its composure.

But Blaziken was prepared.

Bounce!

Utilizing the spinning effect of Bounce, it rotated in a small range and appeared behind the Delphox. A combo skill was ready!

Sky Uppercut!

Using the inertia from the rotation, it delivered an uppercut to the Delphox's back, sending it flying into the air. And because of its own crouched position, its legs were bent.

It straightened instantly! Cracks appeared on the ground where it pushed off, and it shot upward faster than the Delphox was sent flying.

Finally, the finishing move of the combo: Hi Jump Kick!

Bang——

Boom!!!

The Delphox, like Chesnaught before it, created a crater in the ground.
