"This is it. The disk indicates that there are traces of Mew in this area," Green announced as she and Eddie arrived at a remote wilderness location.
Eddie commanded Charizard to land on the ground, preparing to begin their "capture" of Mew.
"Strange... the disk clearly shows this is the correct location, but it's completely barren here. Not only is there no sign of Mew, but I don't see any Pokemon at all," Green observed while turning around with a puzzled expression.
"You really don't understand anything about this, do you? Fine, look over there," Eddie said, rolling his eyes at Green's confusion before pointing directly toward a specific area.
"This is wilderness territory, yet there are no Pokemon present - that's highly abnormal. Also, notice this unusual wind pattern. Doesn't it feel somewhat strange to you?"
Green was startled upon hearing this and began carefully observing and sensing the wind currents around them.
"The wind direction is completely wrong! Why does it feel like it's moving in circles? This isn't a Twister move - how could this be happening naturally?!" Green exclaimed.
After saying this, she immediately assumed a battle stance, flicking her hand to release Blastoise from its Pokeball.
"You've finally noticed. This isn't normal wind at all, or rather, it's not wind in the conventional sense, but..." Eddie explained while making a gentle gesture with his hand.
Charizard immediately breathed fire toward a seemingly empty location - not fragrance, but flames.
"This is air turbulence created by Illusion, also known as psychic wind," Eddie explained.
Just as Eddie finished speaking, Charizard's flames appeared to strike something invisible, and the wind ceased momentarily.
However, the calm lasted only two seconds before a distinctly beautiful wind began swirling around Eddie and Green. The currents circled them like a natural tornado, though anyone could clearly see this wasn't naturally generated weather.
This was Psychic power in action!
Green felt somewhat panicked at this development. As if seeking additional security, she released both Clefairy and Jigglypuff, hoping their presence would boost her confidence. Unfortunately, such actions wouldn't change their current reality.
"Notice how there were no visible energy fluctuations, yet this storm formed spontaneously. This demonstrates the mysterious nature of Psychic abilities. Mew, being a Psychic-type, can accomplish such feats effortlessly," Eddie explained calmly.
Eddie naturally understood who had created this psychic wind. Mew must have decided that Eddie was playing with it, so it began circling around him and Green playfully.
"Meow~~~~" came a cute cry resembling a tiny kitten.
Mew appeared within the sakura-colored storm, its form graceful and ethereal.
"Although I've seen Mew's appearance in the disk data, it's genuinely adorable seeing it in person," Green admitted, momentarily captivated by Mew's cute appearance and temporarily forgetting her earlier trembling.
"But since it's here, I'll capture it without hesitation! Blastoise, use Hydro Pump!" Green declared.
Despite praising Mew's cuteness, she showed no mercy and immediately commanded Blastoise to launch a powerful assault.
Women! Such contradictory creatures!
Blastoise roared in response, and although it was unconsciously trembling in Mew's presence, it still followed Green's command and attacked.
It aimed the two large water cannons on its back toward Mew and unleashed an extremely powerful pressurized water attack.
"Meow?" Mew looked confused by this development.
Mew had simply wanted to communicate with Eddie, but upon approaching, it witnessed Blastoise attacking it and appeared genuinely puzzled.
Wasn't this girl Eddie's companion? Why was she attacking it?
However, while Mew felt confused, it showed no concern whatsoever facing the sudden assault.
It didn't even need to employ Light Screen - a simple application of Confusion directly distorted the incoming water pressure, casually neutralizing the Hydro Pump attack.
"This... it just neutralized that attack so easily?" Green's eyes widened as if witnessing something impossible.
She had known her attack might not succeed - this assault was merely a test of Mew's capabilities.
Green had imagined many possible scenarios: Mew dodging directly, Mew being hit but remaining unharmed, Mew using a powerful counter-attack to disperse Hydro Pump, and so forth. But Green had never anticipated her attack being resolved with such apparent ease!
That had been a Hydro Pump attack! One of the most powerful techniques among Water-type moves, launched by Blastoise no less, and it had simply vanished like that?
"Ha! You're shocked by that? Then observe this," Eddie said, seeing Green's stunned reaction and feeling this girl needed a reality check.
Obviously, she had previously followed powerful trainers who had battled legendary Pokemon, yet she seemed unprepared for this reality.
As Eddie finished speaking, Charizard launched a Fire Blast directly at Mew.
"Mew, let's play!" Mew seemed to interpret Eddie and Green's actions as playful interaction and responded with happy cries.
"Meow~~ Meow~~~"
Observing the incoming Fire Blast, Mew cheerfully manipulated the flame using Confusion, then playfully tossed it far away.
Under its manipulation, the original "large" flame of Fire Blast transformed into a "medium" pattern, then shifted into a "small" design as it flew further into the distance.
Mew appeared thoroughly delighted, laughing with genuine joy.
But Green felt a chill in her heart.
Such an operation - setting aside how technically difficult it must be - if such powerful Confusion were used against Pokemon directly, then...
"It looks quite happy, doesn't it? But let's not discuss the technical difficulty involved. It's merely playing right now. Do you still believe the two of us could capture such a Mew?" Eddie asked, spreading his hands and shrugging his shoulders while addressing Green.
Green sighed softly upon hearing this assessment.
She wasn't foolish. Although she had only witnessed Mew attack twice, she could still perceive the tip of the iceberg regarding Mew's true strength.
Even if Mew wasn't as overwhelmingly powerful as Eddie had described, the current display alone demonstrated capabilities far beyond what she could handle.
"You! How dare you deceive us with your tricks! If you don't surrender that disk today, we'll make you regret ever being born!" an angry voice suddenly interrupted.
Eddie, Green, and Mew all turned toward the source of this outburst.
It was Team Rocket. They had finally tracked down Green and Eddie.
The voice belonged to the division captain, who was now releasing all his Pokemon simultaneously.
It appeared he had resolved to engage Eddie and Green in full-scale battle.
Seeing this large group of Team Rocket operatives and Pokemon arrayed before him, Eddie merely snorted with disdain.
With a casual flick of his hand, he released his entire team.
Charizard, Greninja, Sceptile, Lucario, Gabite, Pupitar, Haunter, and Snorlax appeared in succession.
All eight Pokemon possessed Peak-level strength except for Haunter, which still maintained advanced capabilities.
Such an impressive lineup immediately silenced the previously clamoring Team Rocket forces.
The scene fell momentarily quiet, but the battle was about to commence.
