Due to time constraints, Mega Tyranitar had been traveling here, and the duration of the Sandstorm caused by its Sand Stream Ability had already expired, so it hadn't triggered a Sandstorm in this current battle.

Mega Charizard Y's Drought Ability was affecting the sun outside.

Although these weather conditions lasted the same duration in the games, in reality, the Sandstorm caused by Tyranitar was created from nothing, while the harsh sunlight caused by Charizard was already enhanced by the existing sun.

Therefore, the harsh sunlight lasted considerably longer, which was why it was still in effect now.

However, despite the pain being quite severe, Moltres had only been struck by two attacks—Hydro Pump and Earthquake—after using Roost. It hadn't been defeated.

When an ordinary Elite-level Pokémon was attacked by a Champion-level Pokémon, not to mention two super-effective moves, even a single move with type advantage could potentially defeat it outright.

As mentioned before, from Gym Leader to Champion level, the strength gap between each tier was magnified tremendously, not to mention the gap between entire stages.

Of course, we're discussing ordinary Pokémon here. Legendary Pokémon were different from the rest.

By their very nature, apart from devastating Z-Moves, no attack could inflict massive damage to them in a single strike—unless the opponent was also a legendary Pokémon.

However, the situation with the three legendary birds was unique. They had lost portions of their power and were currently suppressed by Badges. Their strength had dropped directly to the peak of Elite level.

But despite this handicap, their actual strength and combat capabilities couldn't be calculated at merely peak Elite level.

They could be completely regarded as Champion-level Pokémon.

Additionally, as legendary beasts, they possessed the ability to continuously regenerate their strength during battle.

If you wanted to defeat them, even Champion-level Pokémon couldn't accomplish it in just two moves.

Someone as powerful as Giovanni at the peak of Champion level could only temporarily suppress Articuno without using a Badge. Only after using a Badge to weaken Articuno could he exert his full strength at once to directly defeat the legendary bird that he had already injured.

Now, even though it had been struck by two super-effective moves, Moltres still hadn't fallen, and the flames covering its body continued burning brightly, demonstrating that it could still fight ten more rounds! (Or rather, it could still be hit ten more times.)

Of course, this was what Moltres believed. Whether it could truly withstand another assault depended on the actual circumstances.

At this moment, although Moltres had been hit by Earthquake, it had also forced itself not to fall again, so it remained airborne.

Simultaneously, the negative effects of Roost ended, and Moltres regained its Flying type.

After using this move in the games, the type would be restored the next turn, and it was natural that it didn't take long in reality either.

Although regaining the Flying type wasn't necessarily advantageous, Moltres wouldn't be foolish enough to land and use this move again only to get beaten down.

"SCREEEE!"

At this moment, Moltres glanced at the dazzling sunlight streaming from outside, and its eyes suddenly became razor-sharp.

It first released a piercing bird cry, almost politely warning Greninja and the other Pokémon that it was preparing to attack.

Then it looked at Mega Tyranitar and Greninja and flashed a rather cunning smile.

After that, Moltres 'opened its beak wide.'

A beam of Solar Beam fired directly at Greninja, and immediately following this first blast, another Solar Beam was rapidly launched at Mega Tyranitar.

Since all the Pokémon had been anticipating that Moltres would use Fire or Flying-type moves, they were momentarily stunned when Moltres unleashed two Solar Beams instead.

Then in the next instant, they remembered that regardless of what attack Moltres launched, they needed to dodge it.

Although Solar Beam was incredibly fast, Greninja was ultimately a speed-oriented Pokémon. Even though it had been stunned initially, after it recovered its senses, it was still able to rely on its exceptional speed to barely evade the equally swift beam of concentrated solar energy.

But Mega Tyranitar wasn't so fortunate. If it hadn't been momentarily stunned, it might have been able to use some defensive move to counter the attack, or dodge in advance.

However, because of that brief hesitation, it was easily struck by Solar Beam.

"ROAR!!!!"

Mega Tyranitar screamed in agony, and its massive body was blown into the air before crashing directly into the wall.

Even though Moltres wasn't a Grass-type Pokémon and received no same-type attack bonus when using this move, when Mega Tyranitar was attacked by a Grass-type move, it took quadruple damage.

At this point, Mega Tyranitar had been severely injured. Although it could still fight, before it recovered and stood back up—which would take several seconds—Moltres only had to face three Pokémon.

An opportunity!

Moltres made this assessment, so it seized this chance to immediately launch its next round of attacks and continue eliminating the remaining Pokémon.

Greninja was extremely fast, and its surprise attack moments ago had failed to connect, so attacking it again would be pointless since it couldn't be hit.

The Eevee that could constantly transform wasn't easy to deal with either, or rather, it wasn't easy to strike. After all, not only was its body small and agile, but it also kept changing forms, so it would always find a way to counter any attack. Therefore, targeting it was inadvisable.

That left only one option.

Then, the only remaining target was the fat one.

Moltres looked at the enormous and exceptionally slow Snorlax with a dangerous gleam in its eyes.

Snorlax could naturally sense that Moltres was staring directly at it, and knew it had become the target. It felt as if several drops of cold sweat appeared on its forehead, and it took a few nervous steps backward.

Even though it was now a Champion-level Pokémon, it possessed an instinctive fear when facing a legendary Pokémon. This was natural. Earlier, when it had attacked alongside its companions, it hadn't felt anything, but now that it was being singled out, it felt genuinely threatened.

"SCREEEE!"

After the previous exchanges, Moltres concluded that it would be difficult to defeat this bulky Pokémon with Fire-type moves, so it chose not to use Fire-type attacks at this time.

To quickly strike Snorlax, Moltres chose to use Air Slash instead.

It flapped its wings vigorously, slicing through the air to form razor-sharp air blades, then launched them with tremendous force.

The air blades that were supposedly capable of cutting through the very sky rapidly attacked Snorlax.

This move also carried a secondary effect of potentially causing the target to flinch. If it hit Snorlax, regardless of how much damage it would inflict on the hefty Pokémon, as long as it could make Snorlax flinch, Moltres would have several precious seconds to deal with the remaining two Pokémon.

Moltres planned to execute a time-differential attack strategy, breaking the opponents' coordination while gradually defeating all four of Greninja's team, securing its victory.

If it hadn't recognized the intelligence of Eddie's Pokémon and the powerful bonds between them, perhaps it truly could have succeeded with this plan.

On the battlefield, facing the incoming Air Slash, Snorlax wanted to dodge, but with its limited speed, evading such a fast attack was completely impossible.

Just when it could only watch helplessly as the attack was about to strike it, a figure appeared in front of it and took the attack in its place.
