The both of them did not say anything to each other as they drove all the way to Carlos' company.
The moment he pulled over, neither of them planned to step out of the car. Carlos slowly turned towards Anna whose expression remained blank. And in a soft tone, he said.
"Can I tell you a little secret?"
Anna turned towards him. She did not respond, in fact she turned away from him, looking out the window, but her countenance alone showed Carlos how interested she was.
He chuckled, brushing off the fact that she gave him a cold shoulder.
"Ragon and I used to engage in all sorts of scavenging and tourism, creating what is widely known as an adventurers guild. For years, we worked separately despite using the same idea and portfolio. Not until one day I– 13 years old got caught up in a skirmish…"
Carlos seemed to pause, staring deeply at Anna who was clearly focused, even looking into his eyes, waiting for him to continue.
"Skirmish?"
