Chapter 17 - Chapter 16

"Wood Release, Tree World Birth!"

With countless horrified and panicked eyes on him, Leon pressed his hands together and shouted. In an instant, the energy within him surged like a storm, and the power of the Wood Release Secret Technique erupted without restraint.

Tree World Birth.

This was a Ninjutsu developed by the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama. It was an omnipotent technique that could summon massive trees with chakra as their source of life. These trees could then be manipulated for offense, defense, and even to capture enemies.

After inheriting Uchiha Madara's power, Leon had mastered the Wood Release technique and could use it at will.

Crack—

The sound of breaking wood filled the air as the massive chakra spread out. In mere moments, colossal trees twisted and intertwined like pythons, overtaking the entire deck.

"What is this?!"

"Controlling trees?!"

"Damn it, who can save me?!"

"If this continues, my neck will snap!"

…

The Iron Hand Pirates' crew fled in panic, but the tree world had overtaken the deck, leaving them nowhere to escape.

"Ha!" Leon laughed heartily, his voice booming over the chaos. "As your partner, Master Madara, I will naturally grow stronger!"

"This is too much!" Zeff, watching from the George Chef, could no longer maintain his composure. His heart pounded as he witnessed the terrifying display of power. Leon had wiped out the Iron Hand Pirates with a single sweep of his hand.

The sheer magnitude of Leon's strength left Zeff speechless for a long time.

"Captain…" one of the Chef Pirates muttered. "It's truly an honor for our Chef Pirates to be protected by these two monsters!"

Witnessing the obliteration of the Iron Hand Pirates, the Chef Pirates were moved to tears. They had suffered so much in recent days, and now they could finally breathe easy.

"It seems that Grand Line pirates are just like this," Uchiha Madara said indifferently, his eyes scanning the bloody deck. He spoke with clear disappointment. What he thought would be an exciting challenge had turned into a slaughter. The Iron Hand Pirates were too weak to even be worth his time.

"You're the captain of the Iron Hand Pirates, right?"

Leon walked to the end of the deck, his gaze locking onto the battered figure in front of him.

Iron Hand Corino, once proud and arrogant, was now entangled by countless thorns, his body bruised and covered in horrifying marks. He teetered on the brink of death.

"Your life is now in Zeff's hands," Leon said coolly, raising his palm and clenching it forward. The thorns wrapped around Corino's body shot upward, lifting him off the ground and flinging him onto the George Chef.

Swish!

The biting sea breeze stung Corino's face, his consciousness growing faint as he helplessly watched himself fall.

"Zeff…"

"You handle the rest," Leon said calmly, as if crushing the Iron Hand Pirates was nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

"Leon, thank you so much!" Zeff's voice was filled with emotion as he looked at Corino lying in a pool of blood. The weight of everything that had transpired finally hit him. Not only had he avoided being hunted, but he had also gained control over the fate of his enemy.

Everything that had happened felt like a dream.

Soon after.

The George Chef and the three-masted sailboat sailed side by side across the sea. The encounter with the Iron Hand Pirates was just a brief episode, and everyone soon continued their journey.

"Zeff, what are your plans next?" Leon asked, holding a wine glass in hand.

"It will take about three days to reach Ronald Island," Zeff replied. "We plan to stop there temporarily to replenish supplies."

"Considering your preparations, it sounds like you won't need to stop at port," Leon said, shaking his head in regret.

"Then let's part ways at Ronald Island!" Zeff suggested, though he knew it would be unrealistic to continue traveling with Leon and Madara. The Chef Pirates were small-time compared to them, and they came from completely different worlds.

"It's a deal!" Leon agreed.

After this encounter, he and Zeff had formed a bond of friendship—a valuable first connection in the Grand Line.

Time passed quickly.

Five days later, Leon and Madara had bid farewell to the Chef Pirates and continued on their journey. Two days later, they arrived at another island.

"This island seems more prosperous. We should be able to find a navigation compass here," Leon said as he observed the bustling port town in the distance.

"Leon, when will we reach the Navy Headquarters?" Uchiha Madara asked from behind him.

"Don't worry, Madara-sama. We'll get closer to Marinford sooner or later," Leon replied, shrugging. Madara, being a warrior, found the slow pace of sailing dull and tiresome.

Just as they were about to leave the port, they encountered a girl.

She was about fourteen, with healthy, tanned skin and a slender, malnourished figure.

"Huh?!" Leon's eyes widened as he locked eyes with the girl. A sudden realization hit him, and his expression brightened.

"Who are you?" Leon asked.

The girl looked back at him with cautious, wary eyes, like a frightened rabbit.

"I never expected this…" Leon muttered, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "Good luck just keeps coming my way!"

After studying her for a moment, Leon recognized her identity.

The only survivor of Ohara, the archaeological island in the West Blue, and a bounty of 10 million Baileys placed on her head at the age of eight.

The Devil's Son.

Nico Robin.
