Chapter 392 - Chapter 392: Ginkaku's Corpse

Chapter 392: Ginkaku's Corpse

Following Ino's suggestion, the cards were categorized by rarity into SSR, SR, R, and N.

The First Hokage, the Fourth Hokage, and the current Fifth Hokage were designated as SSRs.

Tsunade, the patriarchs of the Ino-Shika-Cho clans, Hashirama Senju's father Butsuma Senju, and Kakashi were SRs.

The Academy-era versions of Ino, Shikamaru, and the others were Rs.

Tonton, Akamaru, and Konohamaru were Ns.

The card ranks for the same person also varied depending on the era. While they claimed there was no favoritism, how could that be possible?

Jiraiya alone had three cards: an R-rank for his youth, an SR-rank for his Sage Mode, and an SSR-rank for his Godly Raiment of the Hermit.

"Gekinin Emaki" was just getting started, and the card lineup would continue to be refined in the future.

"Billionaire Hikari," who was always boasting about his wealth, was extremely interested in the game. He immediately offered to invest and help Karui promote the card game.

The Cloud Village had captured Sai and subjected him to intense interrogation, but they got no information out of him. His only answer was "I don't know."

Cee was certain that the captive was a ninja from Konoha's Root.

The Fourth Raikage wanted to kill him with a single strike, but Cee advised that they could use him to negotiate with Konoha.

The intensity of Konoha's internal political struggles was unmatched among the five great ninja villages. There was nothing they wouldn't do; the only limit was your imagination.

Konoha had a history of self-sabotage, having done so more than once.

This time, perhaps they could even extort a pair of Byakugan or Sharingan eyes? In any case, there was no harm in trying.

Unfortunately, the Third Hokage was no longer in charge.

The Cloud Village's letter, along with some of Sai's personal belongings, was sent to Konoha, but Jiraiya paid it no mind at all.

He asked the Cloud emissary, "Excuse me, emissary, which of our village's ninja have you captured?"

"I don't know."

"Then do you know the registration number of this captured ninja?"

"I don't know."

"Do you know the rank of this captured ninja?"

"...I don't know."

"Hahahaha!" Jiraiya burst out laughing.

You don't know who you've captured, you don't know the captured ninja's name, and with nothing but empty words, you want compensation from Konoha? Are you dreaming?

The Cloud emissary left with nothing and could only return to his village in dejection.

The Fourth Raikage was furious and wanted to execute Sai, but Cee advised him to imprison the man for now and deal with him after capturing Danzo.

The turmoil of the outside world had nothing to do with Ino. The ninja war wasn't her problem alone. Sometimes, being a minor character had its perks.

She just had to clock in and out of work every day without worrying about too much.

Ino spent three days transplanting Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan into Ginkaku's corpse.

It had to be said, this man's bloodline was indeed powerful. As soon as the eye was connected to the chakra pathways, Ino noticed the withered eye begin to draw and convert ocular power from the corpse. If the initial conversion rate of Kimimaro's corpse was a 5, this one was at least a 10. This "field" was very fertile.

Ino also studied the two horns on Ginkaku's forehead.

After a ninja's death, their body doesn't decay quickly due to the presence of chakra. The bodies of ninja with blood ties to the Sage of Six Paths decay even more slowly; the fact that Hashirama's cells still possess powerful life force is clear proof.

Ginkaku's body showed varying degrees of decay, but his two horns remained as sturdy as ever.

She cut open Ginkaku's scalp, lifted his skullcap, and after some examination, made an unexpected discovery.

The pineal gland in Ginkaku's brain had nearly ten times more capillaries than a normal human's. Micro-arteries passed through the membrane of the pineal gland, forming a dense capillary network. A small portion of these blood vessels had already connected to his chakra pathways.

What did this mean?

The Hyuga clan's Byakugan had observed it in great detail. Everyone, whether they had a Kekkei Genkai or not, had the same 361 chakra points. The central point of all these nodes was the heart, specifically designated as the "Gate of Death" in the Eight Inner Gates formation.

But this Ginkaku? His 362nd chakra point was on the verge of emerging from his forehead; the basic framework was already in place.

If categorized by chakra points, this fellow was unequivocally an alien.

Ino strongly suspected that the Gold and Silver Brothers must have been dirt poor as children and grew up eating the bark of the God Tree. Otherwise, their bloodline couldn't have mutated to this extent after a gap of several thousand years.

She pondered for a moment, considering the appearances of Sage of Six Paths Madara, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, and Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki. Ginkaku's bloodline had mutated, and this strange chakra point on his forehead was likely, she boldly speculated, meant to power a Rinne Sharingan or a Golden Rinnegan.

The chakra point on Ginkaku's forehead was different from the others; it was like a second heart, with an incredibly dense convergence of pathways.

However, Ginkaku's chakra point had not fully developed, and due to the corpse's decay, the point was severely damaged.

It was congenitally deficient and had rotted before it could ever be used. That was pretty much the situation.

"What a pity," Ino sighed softly. The Gold and Silver Brothers had vehemently opposed an alliance with Konoha, even going so far as to stage a coup and kill the Second Raikage. While madness was one aspect, they surely harbored the idea of prolonging the war, using the Cloud's military might to destroy Konoha and seize the Senju and Uchiha bloodlines for themselves.

The Second Hokage fought to the death, and even with his last breath, he was determined to take Ginkaku with him and severely wound Kinkaku. He had likely seen through the brothers' intentions.

Was this truly the case? The Second Hokage and Ginkaku had returned to the Pure Land, so there was no chance to ask. She could only see if she could find the answer from Kinkaku's soul next time.

Ino felt that the chakra point on Ginkaku's forehead was of immense value. She still had a pure Byakugan hidden away in the Waterfall Village. What if she transplanted it?

After some thought, she dismissed the idea.

She had to take things one step at a time. It would be a disaster if the Sharingan and Byakugan contaminated each other.

For now, she would focus on enhancing the Sharingan's ocular power and awakening her own unique Mangekyo Sharingan as soon as possible. Later, when the "fertility" of Ginkaku's body was depleted, she could research the mixing of the two ocular powers.

Ginkaku's body was one harvest, and the Sage's Treasured Tools were another.

The Seven-Star Sword was a bit useless in her hands. Without the coordination of the Golden Canopy Rope and the Crimson Gourd, what else could it do besides slash people? Even for slashing, it felt unwieldy.

The Amber Purifying Pot was too large and inconvenient to use in battle.

Ino really couldn't be bothered to figure out their specific uses. To uncover the secrets of the two treasures, she took on another seven-day mission to train Naruto. After Naruto fainted, she familiarly entered his spiritual world to ask Ashura.
